The room and amenities were great , the maintenence man gave us peanuts to feed the goats which was a highlight!

A few of the staff wasn't friendly, the waitress on 2/10 I believe her name started with a K was very cold to us but nice to the surrounding tables which I thought was strange..maybe because we were younger? But it wasn't a pleasant experience . Also the front desk just checked us in and out very rushed..no asking how our stay was or any info about check in/check out. We both work in a hotel and the hospitality here wasn't up to par.

The staff was exceptionally friendly and accommodating. The rooms are super cute - ours had a little electric fireplace that made it feel so cozy. The indoor pool is large, warm, and clean with lots of natural light. Dinner and breakfast at the Tavern were outstanding, and the free coffee in the morning is actually delicious and comes with real half and half in a pitcher. We were here for less than 24 hours and it rained the whole time, so we didn't get to explore as much of the resort as we would have liked, but we will definitely be back!

Spacious In the nature Big rooms

Thé pool area could be cleaner . Especially the inside pool . Our room was noisy . Room 227: a double queen at the back . The hotel looked relatively good empty . Why were we not given a quiter room . I wonder . We did not complain . Reception staff : indifferent; cold , distant like they would nor care . At check out I asked for the food and drinks bill (expenses added to the tab) . They said they’d sent it by email . No email was sent . I had to follow up in writing . Restaurant staff were friendly .

We love the dining-especially at the Junction which unfortunately was closed this visit. However, the Lazy Goat was fine, and we enjoyed the live music. The pools are wonderful and this visit, the weather was perfect for indoor and outdoor swimming. Kudos to the landscaping team who continue to enhance the property.

The Junction was closed our entire (4 day) visit and it's the highlight of our visits to the Essex Resort.

we stayed for one night after a week of snowboarding in northern vermont. This place was lovely. Relaxing, clean, quiet, and the food at the lazy goat was AMAZING. We live in a very metropolitan part of NJ and have access to some of the best food and lazy goat measured up to some of the best tavern food we've eaten in NJ/NY. Everyone was friendly and the 24 hour cafe was PERFECT! Also, dont sleep on the spa. I had the best facial of my life!

Pool, steam room and sauna were good and clean within the SPA facility - we used it for free as we stayed in the Essex hotel. Both restaurants -Junction and Tavern - were good enough. The oysters were tiny, but fresh ($4.00 each). Spacious room had 2 queen beds (very comfortable) in “The Mansion” section and cleaning was done every day - we stayed 3 nights from 12/30/23 - 01/02/2024. The way to Stowe Mountain taken (by car) for approximately 40 minutes. It was little snow these days in Stowe but skiing was comfortable. The ticket for lift is costly: we bought for $160 (with tax) on-line from Stowe.com portal. For car parking we spent $30,00 not far from lift on the mountain.

It was no any special offers in the Junction restaurant's menu for New Year Eve.

Dinner was great, Nicole and Patrick are wonderfully talented chiefs. Food and Service both excellent!!! Spa-couple massages we had Rob & Christie both did a remarkable job!!! and we felt SOOO much better after?? King bed was great I slept for 9 1/2 hours, and I don't Rember when I've slept so well. I meant to get the brand of mattress but forgot to. It might have been soaking in your great outdoor hot tub that had us both relaxed before we went to dinner.

Bathtub needs some refurbishing as does the carpet in the room, other than that a nice big quite room!!!

The tavern is an outstanding facility, with excellent choices and quality of food and beverages. There are excellent choices in the lobby bar also. Our room was large and comfortable.

Our particular room was near the exit closest to the spa. So the fire door slammed frequently, until midnight, then starting again around 5 am! I would not recommend any of the rooms in the main building starting 102-108

We love the beauty of the grounds, the comfortable bed and the quiet of our attractive and spacious room, the convenience and proximity of multiple eateries, the down to earth loveliness of the place. Elizabeth and Ash at the Front Desk were particularly helpful in fulfilling a special request.

The outdoor poolside chaises longues are not the most comfortable.

We really liked the location, the culinary theme decor in the rooms and the Junction restaurant and staff. The resort had a warm and inviting New England feel with an added culinary theme touch. It was a great location to be able to enjoy a show in Burlington, but still stay conveniently outside the city. Would absolutely stay again if in the area and plan ahead to take a cooking class.

There wasn't anything we didn't like.
