We had the Dienst Suite which had its own entrance next the the hotel entrance so we really did nt have to go into the hotel much. Our room had very steep stairs, no problem for us but could be for others. Oh and there is bike storage. Parking us tight as said though we managed with a wide volvo and bikes on the back. Our room was pretty, very clean and comfy. Airco was old but did the job. Our bed was a dream, we did not want to leave it. Breakfast at 15 euro pp is quite boring, we'll presented but not really worth it and lots of bread, buns, sweet loaf etc which I don't really like. So we took breakfast at the baker in the street. Monnikendam is delightful! We had 3 great dinners with the locals. It's just great!

The hotel was amazing! The room was super comfy and had a design which was a combination of history and modernity. As far as I understood the room had a motto related to a historical person from the Netherlands. The bathroom was very modern. The room also had a small balcony. The staff was super friendly. The breakfast was also amazing. Highly recommended!

There are not really negative aspects to mention. I usually prefer a card to enter the hotel room, as it is easier to carry around, but the keys fit also to the design of the hotel and room. It was not possible to extent the stay in the hotel, because it was completely booked.

A property dated 1697 is hard to find. This is a quaint heritage hotel in a quiet offbeat location situated in a quiet quaint town located on the shore, some 35 kms from Amsterdam. The staff is excellent and go out of their way to make you welcome and assist you in every way possible.

The town is small and most shops are closed by 4pm. There are a few eateries but you need to check whether they're functional and open for business. Getting to Monnickendam is expensive by taxi, though there's a regular bus service from Amsterdam which I didn't use because of the inclement weather and my lack of knowledge, and the hotel has an arrangement with a taxi service which you need to tie up with the hotel before hand.

We had a superb stay here last week. 4 nights over the Easter weekend and everything was just perfect. The owners and employees are so kind and helpful, the breakfasts were delicious and generous (with gluten-free options and anything extra we wanted) and the location is amazing. The suite room was fantastic too - super comfy beds (including the sofa bed mattress which is unheard of!), lots of space and really quiet, plus a beautiful bathroom with a great shower. Room was even better than it looked in the photos! We could park easily and there are lots of fabulous restaurants within a 2-minute walk overlooking the water.

Absolutely nothing!

The location is a bit far from Amsterdam but buses and metro are so easy to reach and they come very often.The hotel is a beautiful elegant like a story building. Very clean,breakfast prepared by Sara was excellent. Sara is very kind and polite and preparing everything with great care, all tasty and healthy,lot of variation. The room is clean,bed comfortable,you can find all you need, coffee machine,hair dryer,safe box, TV . The bathroom very clean,with toiletries and cabin shower. The weather was a bit cold but the room is well heated. At the reception Cindy and Hamza are very helpful, explaining everything you need to know about transportation and important points to visit.

Parking can be an issue, and the hotel carpark has limited parking space. Despite what their website and booking.com say you must pre book parking. Road side parking close by would have been an issue for us. We were lucky, and staff sorted out a parking space for us in the carpark.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Room was very clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. Great location in a beautiful town. Breakfast was better than we expected and the young lady that took care of us was wonderful. We look forward to returning.

Beautiful place. Stayed for 3 night family of 5 in the family suite. Great breakfast with wonderful and child friendly personnel. Bus to Amsterdam close by. But even Monnickendam has all you need for a great vacation. Playground, beach, restaurants, and bars.

Small parking space at the hotel. Not a perfect place to visit with a big car.

Outstanding spacious accomodation. (Inc a lovely little outdoor area) Extremely comfortable bed. Bathroom facilities..huge bath! And gorgeous shower! (Inc underfloor heating) Location of accommodation. Ease of access to Amsterdam and other places of interest. Very welcoming staff! Breakfast Suite cleaned to a very high standard

Unique room with kitchenette, table and bench outside next to a canal. The owner met us and left us fruit, juice and yogurt. I would recommend calling or texting the owner when you get close so they can meet you as it not well marked. One of the coolest places we've stayed.
