The lodge is in the middle of the forest so it was really great. We had a very interesting discussion with the manager regarding the forest and the community living there. And she also helped us to find an alternative activity since we wanted to visit black canyon which was closed due to fires

The restaurant was closed on the nights where we were there and we didn't know it in advance. Since it is in the middle of nowhere we had to improvise for our dinner. But the manager helped us.

The continental breakfast was very good, and the on-site restaurant had a different special each night and a very nice, albeit simple, main menu. On Friday and Saturday night, they had live music outside, which was a real good time. The rooms were very comfortable, and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Can’t really think of anything we didn’t like. It was off the main road, and somewhat secluded, but that just added to the atmosphere of being in the mountains. No cell phone service, but again, it added to the relaxation factor.

Good selection of items for continental breakfast. Room was quiet and nearby Friday night music event was finished by 9PM.

The use of a Kueric (sp) machine for coffee making caused quite a backbup on those couple of mornings when several people were there for breakfast. The mattreses in our room (Indian) should be replaced. Had to sleep crosswise to avoid a definite slant.

The restaurant was closed. We arrived around 7:30 and the lady (Sky) did apologise that there was no restaurant open at the lodge and the nearest one was a one hour drive. We could however help ourselves to the breakfast buffet so we didn’t go hungry.

What a wonderful surprise! This lovely lodge is located at the top of a mountain and is clearly the gathering place for everyone who lives nearby. There was a live band, a fire pit, corn hole, and a great barbecue. The property is gorgeous, and the staff is kind and helpful.

Didn't get to stay long enough. Would have been nice to have some nuts to top yogurt and peanut butter for toast.

Great little lodge tucked away on its own mountain. Rooms are seriously spacious with excellent equality beds - mattresses, linens and all. Had a great couple of nights sleep here. Plus, the light pollution is so low that the Milky Way is frequently visible. Bring an ice scraper for the car though!

Breakfast could have been a bit more “fancy”

The location was perfect for my trip and the rooms and staff were wonderful. I'm looking forward to staying again. The outdoor music was an added bonus. Had myself a mountaineer margarita and kicked back and enjoyed the beautiful weather.

It felt old school. I assume it’s family owned, the staff was phenomenal! The burger was fantastic! We drive around after dinner and spotted lots of deer roaming!

It was a little far off the main road but after staying there would definitely stay again!

We had no idea what to expect. I almost canceled this booking due to the construction on the canyon road below. I am so glad I did not. This is a wonderful place to stay. IT has more of a bead and breakfast feel. It might have been one of the highlights of our 17 day western trip. The rooms are older but decorated so cute. Every single staff person we encountered felt like they went above an beyond with any questions we had. The food in the restaurant was really good. The atmosphere is relaxing. We spent the evening playing board games under the aspen trees and string lights. The canyon construction was a blessing, in the fact we decided to wait until the noon window to get out. It allowed us time to explore the mountain. We were using this as a stopping point on our way back to Colorado Springs, but now we want to go back just to stay for a few nights to enjoy the lodge. I highly recommend.
