A very nice family run hotel located by the river Murg. Greeted by owner Guiseppe who is also the chef. Room was large and a little cold but OK really. nice bathroom and plenty of hot water. Highlight of the stay was eating in the restaurant - fantastic Italian food cooked by Guiseppe and his family - just brilliant!! Restaurant was quite busy with other guests and locals so a very pleasant evening. Just make sure you leave room for breakfast - warm rolls and jam would have been sufficient but then appeared a plate of cooked meats [salami, chorizo, ham..] cheese, then a mozzarella and tomato salad, scrambled and boiled eggs and finished off by a delightful cream cake!!! Outstanding!

The immediate locale was fine but the Murg valley area is quite industrial compared to the nearby Black Forest areas.

While not as pristine nature as the Hochschwarzwald, the town of Weisendorf & the whole way along the river Murg has interesting views - historic villages, beautiful half-timbered houses, the rushing river & the local industry. Hotel Grüner Baum has not only good views of the river, but lies centrally in town. Breakfast is good, the Italian restaurant is typical South Italian thanks to the owners being from Apulia.

Some black mold in the corners of the room. Possibly due to the proximity to the river & especially the extremely wet spring this year - but also something, which simple cleaning w diluted bleach could easily remove.

Incredibly nice and accommodating people. The lady made us feel truly welcome. And as it is a family business: with such a nice mum, it’s no surprise her sons are equally kind and attentive. There were very good gluten free options for dinner. The breakfast was simply outstanding. We had road side rooms, but at night the traffic calmed down, so it was nice and calm. And the view from the window is exceptional. The rain shower was wonderful.

Very clean and comfortable room. Parking free and secure for motorcycle. Breakfast and restaurant were superb. Host and staff were welcoming friendly and excellent service, only stayed overnight but a great stopover. Would definitely recommend and come back again.

The staff were absolutely wonderful. The location is central, ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL, and easy to find. The room was a very nice and sizeable room. I cannot rave enough about the food - the pizza was the best I've ever had in Germany, and DEFINITELY DEFINITELY get the breakfast. The breakfast was the most fancy breakfast I've ever had. Seriously, this place is amazing.

The hotel is next to a main road, running thru the village. Place is run by an Italian origin family who wants to do everything that you can feel yourself home. Rooms are well-equipped and modern (completely redecorated). Food is delicious, breakfast is ample. They were able to solve the glutenfree courses for my son. Parking is free at the side of the hotel. We will definitely return to this place and to the nice owners if we visit the region again.

Very kind English speaking hosts. Delicious food in the restaurant. Great breakfast. Hotel rooms are modern, recently furnished. Car parking on the street near the hotel.

It was impossible to adjust the heating, so the room temperature was a bit below our comfort zone.

we were offered a new room so I can understand a few things might have been missing like a dustbin in the room, the shower cabin was leaking, the basin tap had the hot and cold in the wrong direction, the bed linen was not cotton and there were dead cockroaches in the wardrobe.

Lovely comfy room in a beautiful spot. The room was spotless and breakfast was perfect with a beautiful dinning room and fresh flowers on the table. The hosts were very kind and welcoming. Such a shame that we only stayed for one night. We would love to be back. Grazie mille!
