Las Cuevas more than made up for the challenging drive! The history of the engineer that started this location has been well preserved by his family and the staff, and invokes visitors to be curious and adventurous when discovering all there is offered here. We loved the educational and delicious wine with cheese pairing led by one of the chefs. We could not have had a more perfect day for horse riding in the Andes with Jaime - what stunning views! Every meal was a delicious delight. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves with everything available and will definitely return!

The road getting there was quite treacherous, made worse by some local construction and rainy weather.

The Hacienda Lodge was a once in a lifetime opportunity for us, we were absolutely thrilled to spend our time there. The hummingbirds buzzed around, walking/hiking trails easily accessible, the lodge itself was built many years ago by hand, dug into the mountain side with beautiful cave rooms that have been expanded with an indoor balcony. Extremely clean and well maintained. Beer/Chocolate tasting and Wine/Cheese tasting was fantastic. Thank you Manuel for making this such a memorable experience, you were so knowledgeable and passionate. Don’t miss out!!! BOOK IT!

Everything about this location was amazing. It has a great history, offers great comfort, delicious food, and with excellent staff running the operation. The room was perfect with all the necessities, it was very clean, and had an excellent hot shower. The grounds offer many places to walk, meditate or just chill. We selected and paid extra for the beer and Chocolate pairing which was hosted by Chef Manuel Aguirre, who is very knowledgeable, very pleasant, and based on the meals which he prepared for us, an excellent chef. We paid for the optional dual waterfall tour with Rodrigo on check out morning, which was very interesting and which made for excellent photos. Overall, from check-in to check-out, this was an amazing experience.

The staff was incredible. Friendly, responsive and very kind. The room was incredible, and the surrounding property was beautiful. Take the guided hike! It's a challenging hike but very rewarding!

The road to and from the hotel, while I found it fun and part of the adventure, is for sure challenging. It requires some clearance on the vehicle and an experienced off road driver.

EVERYTHING! One of the most interesting Hotels I’ve ever stayed. We used as much of the amenities as possible in the short time we were there. The entire staff was warm and friendly, and knowledgeable. LuisMigel was our chef, history guide, and wine steward, and wine cheese and chocolate tasting host.He was perfect, and a nice man. Jose took us on a guided horseback ride, beautiful country side. A night walk with a bonfire, and a few things we did’ t have time to participate.

Wow, what a hidden pearl. The history of this place is worth the visit alone. Besides Nicolas who makes all guests feel welcome and is a genius chef at the same time, the place has beautiful spacious rooms, an incredible surrounding and instagrammers will get very stressed to manage all during a stay. mix that with everything from horse riding, night walk, wine and cheese and/or beer tasting, a fantastic menu, jacuzzi in a cave, views and a heaven for kids. so much to say. it’s an experience driving in, take it as such, because what awaits you is fantastic

Beautiful and interesting architecture. Fabulous service by staff especially Manuel who provided us with superb meals and made everything run so smoothly. Handy for the airport and a relaxing place to stay.

What a crazy, unusual place - in the best way. How this place came about has an amazing story attached. You won’t find another place like it. It’s opulent without being superficial. Lots of unusual nooks and crannies and surprises throughout the hotel. We were looked after by Manuel (most royally) as his knowledge and passion for his role was fully evident throughout. The food was to die for, a selection of unusual pairings and flavours which had obviously been cooked with love. Spacious, colonial rooms built into the rocks. We want to come and stay for longer at a time in our lives when we are wanting to think and muse - it’s a great place for that.

Sweet place. If you are in the Quito area for a day or two and want something different, stay here. Unique spot with awesome staff and good food. Up for a hike? They have a couple of options that will test most anyone.
