WOW. I stay the night in this area for work 4x a month for a few months now and this is the BEST hotel I’ve stayed in. It was so hard to leave it. The woman at the front desk was so kind, helpful, and accommodating. The entire place was spotless. The beds were SO comfortable and the fireplace in our room worked great! There are plenty of restaurants walking distance as well as a very fancy restaurant in the hotel. I have zero complaints. It’s definitely worth the money. Especially if you go for the room with the fireplace and shared patio.

We loved our stay at the Dorymans - they have easy access to pull up out front for bags and then a private parking lot a block away. Staff were super helpful and able to get us fresh milk and extra pillows and blankets with ease. The room was spacious and very clean, some reviews mention the beds but we used all 3 in the room and they were all comfy. There was a fridge and tea and coffee facilities in the hall. Location is right on the oceanfront with fantastic views. We didn't get bothered by the noise and it's expected in a busy central location. We would happily stay again.

The lift was out of action which was a bit tricky for my mothers mobility but we managed. The breakfast was very limited with just fruite / bagels / cerial / juice and very weak coffee - connected to ocean 21 i expected it to be a bit more as thier food is so fabulous- but it's worth knowing it's limited and other places are around to eat in the morning

I think people would choose this location for two reasons: location, and the fact that it is historic. You are right in the heart of Newport Beach. The view cannot be beat, the property is in excellent condition for its age, and you’re right above one of the best restaurants in all of Newport Beach. The staff was very friendly as well. Also, parking is included in the hotel rate which is a huge plus as parking is a premium down by the water.

We had the best corner room in the place that overlooked the beach. It was right next to a popular 24 hour donut place that gets pretty noisy at night. Fortunately I had a white noise app so it didn’t bother me, but could bother others. The toiletries should be nicer for the price.

The room was amazing, it had all these little details in the room and everything was unique. The concerige or hostess was very informative and took the time and explained the experience there. I also liked that the room was right by the ocean and it was within walking distance. Very beautiful

The bed was not super comfy and we got a room with a spa tub that made this really loud noise when we tried to turn it on and it did not work. We could not get the plug to stay or get the jets to turn on.

This hotel was very nice, it was so clean and well kept. Loved the history of the hotel and the vintage touches in each room. Staff was very friendly

The noise level was bad you could hear everything going on on the boardwalk. We were kept up all night our first night people were out late and drunk hanging out in the parking lot in between the hotel and the beach. There was still people out at 4am! It’s not the hotels fault just part of the experience I guess.

Great location close to restaurants and bars right at the Newport Beach Pier. Old but well maintained building. The room (Bellagio) was comfortable and spacious, with a nice gas fireplace.

My room's windows (Bellagio) were facing a noisy alley - on Sat evening we had street noise until late after midnight. The windows did not do a great job to eliminate the noise. The TV does not support streaming apps or screen mirroring. The continental breakfast had a very limited offer.

small breakfast with the basics including boiled eggs. Coffee, toast, muffins, yogurt, cereal. Ocean front location is awesome. you dont need a car. Walk to tons of restaurants and bars.

A little loud in the oceanfront rooms on weekend nights with some later night partiers on the beach area. Also woke up to street sweeper right in the parking lot in front around 5 am... might want ear plugs if on the oceanfront rooms if you are a light sleeper.

The hotel has its charm, and it is like doing travel in time. That also means no USB, no king-size bed, no blackout curtains. Still, it is somehow fun to sleep in a room like that. The breakfast was small, but the rooftop with tables make it good.

We had a small refrigerator in our room, which unfortunately did not work. The bed light also was not working. The light switches working were only on the entrance door, and we need to shut it down and walk in the dark to the bed. The price is a little too expensive for that.

Nice hotel, with parking on Newport beach, staff very informative and friendly. Room was comfortable and quiet, with a nice breakfast area with a good choice. Some great views from the rooftop of the beach and surrounding area. Lots of nearby bards and restaurants, and a very short walk to the beach and pier. Good location for a family or just friends visit.

Only stayed a single night, would have stayed longer if I could.

I loved everything about the hotel/room with the exception of the air flow. The way the bed sat and where the vents say, coupled with the bed being a canopy bed, I wasn't feeling any type of ait flow. The room was cool, but I am one of those people who need to feel air actually blowing on me. Other than that, the room was amazing and comfy, and the bed was great, and amenities were on point.
