The hotel is well appointed with so many beautiful features. I will highly recommend the property. It's 5mins walk from the Keihan Main Line, and easy to get around.

Amazing breakfast, lovely spacious rooms, helpful staff. Overall really wonderful hotel, would definitely choose to stay here again when I hopefully get a chance to return to Kyoto.

Design of the hotel and rooms are very modern and tasteful. Bed and pillows were really comfortable. Staff is polite and helpful Rooftop bar ambiance was so nice,food and cocktails were all very tasty. Attention to detail was obvious from quality of products on the room to the little helpful booklets about instersting places in Kyoto.

It was very stylish, extremely clean, the room was much more spacious than other Japanese hotels. The design was amazing. There was a music party with a live DJ in the lobby Saturday night, it was super fun too. The staff was very casual but polite. Everyone can speak English. Also, the restaurant (Cicon) was SUPER delicious and high class (not too expensive though. Not to mention the bakery in the lobby. Great service.

We stayed 6 nights and I cannot think of a better place to stay in Kyoto. It is NOT in the city center, so it is quiet and it IS 10min walk from Kiyomizu-dera temple complex. Actually, you can do all Higashiyama attractions by walking from the hotel. We did not use public transportation in Kyoto. Walking to the city center takes 15min from the hotel. Hotel itself is great! It offers big, clean and comfortable rooms and it also has a very pleasant lobby with bakery, so you can buy fresh bread, pastry etc. every morning. The restaurant serves great breakfasts in the morning and local IPA in the evening :-)

Exceptional hotel in the fabulous Higashiyama area, rooms with all the modern touches, fabulous shower, very comfy beds. Staff are so friendly and helpful. Breakfast is to order from a selection of hot options plus full buffet. Dined at restaurant several times, excellent food. We had drinks at rooftop every evening to wind down, great ambience with fire pits, blankets and fairy lights. Bikes to hire are a fabulous way to see Kyoto also. Laundry easy to use, gym also. About a 25-30 min walk to Kyoto station or between $10-15 taxi ride. Highly recommended!

The property is located near the old part of Kyoto so it’s easy walking access to most of the city aside from the castle and Mount Inari. The rooms were cleaned daily and the rooms were spacious but we did upgrade on the day as there was space and a deal the day we checked in so we went from a superior twin to a superior double twin which was a bigger bed and bigger room. The staff was great and very helpful with directions and check in and out along with organising taxis to and from various tourists sites and to and from the Shinkansen train station.

The wash and laundry rooms had ample machines but the only downside to them was the Visa card and iPhone only machines as they did not have coin operated ones.

Absolutely fantastic choice for visiting Kyoto: 1) location - in the Higashiyama district - so close to the Kiyomizadera Temple and its surrounding old world shops, but also - the neighborhood on the other side had great small restaurants too; 2) roof top bar! no words needed on how great to have this after a long day of sightseeing; 3) very cool modern decor but in a Japanese style (unassuming and highly artistic); 4) buffet food was very plentiful and delicious; 5) the staff actually seemed to love working there; 5) only 12 minutes away from the Kyoto train station.

Nohga Hotel Kyoto is a modern boutique hotel that made our stay in the city truly special. Popular with Western tourists, it offers excellent facilities, including a well-equipped gym and convenient guest laundry, making it very comfortable for longer stays. The hotel’s restaurant was a highlight — the food was superb, though reservations are essential due to its popularity. One of our favorite features was the beautiful rooftop, complete with multiple fire pits and cozy lounges, where we could relax under warm blankets and enjoy cocktails in the evenings. The hotel’s location is fantastic, within walking distance of Kyoto’s famous shrines and the Imperial Palace. There’s also a charming bakery on the ground floor offering excellent coffee and delicious pastries. Our room was spacious, beautifully appointed, and luxurious, providing a true haven after a day of sightseeing. Throughout our stay, the staff were unfailingly helpful and courteous. A wonderful experience overall — we would highly recommend it.

It was a bit too busy so difficult to eat at a restaurant without a booking.

The hotel is beautiful, from the masses of live plants in the lobby to the lightening, you know the moment you walk in that you made a great choice. The rooms are beautiful, with the highlight being the shower! After a long day of walking, I would look forward to that rain head shower so much! The location is convenient to many of the east side of Kyoto attractions by walking and train. There is a bakery in the lobby with a great selection of pasties for a quick breakfast. The rooftop bar is also beautiful.
