OMG - this hotel is our favorite ski lodge that we have ever stayed in, anywhere in the world: [1] Super funky wonderfully styled suite, [2] Fantastic staff through the whole hotel, [3] Magnificent food in both restaurants and the bistro, [4] Special shout out to Jean-Michel Brunel for his care for buffet breakfasts each day (magnificent ! strongly suggest to include and pay for the breakfast !!). We stayed in a Junior suite, not a single room, and we were ridiculously comfortable and happy for our stay. The Michelin Star restaurant was available for us, without a prior booking (though I would recommend booking) - that experience was exceptional, as you would expect. Unexpected though ... was the magnificent food in the other "main" restaurant. There is very obviously carry-over from the Michelin Star restaurant. Before staying here we read reviews, and it seemed the only valid "complaint" was that it is a bit of a walk up the hill. This isn't really a concern - make sure you have a phone connection and ring the hotel and they will send a car to pick you up from wherever you are in the village. So helpful, and so convenient ... this is just one example of the extra trouble they will go to, so that you stay is perfect.

There is nothing to complain about with this hotel. There should be a warning for "first time" skiers .. the "ski in" and "ski out" is fine for intermediate and better skiers, but might frighten first timers - they can instead ask for the free shuttle service to take then down to a more sensible and easier slope.

The Pashmina is absolutely excellent. It is one of the nicest hotels I have stayed in. We had a deluxe XXL room with 2 bedrooms and a central lounge, which worked wonderfully for our family. We also had our own harman, which was a hit after a day's skiing.

My only small issue was Les Explorateurs, the Michelin star restaurant at the hotel. It is highly overpriced for what you get and the experience was lacking compared to other Michelin star restaurants I have been at. At the request of the restaurant, I provided my culinary preferences, and when we sat at the table, I was told they never received it. In addition, we had a table close to the kitchen, and it sounded like they were having a party in there - not what you want in terms of a quiet evening of fine dining.

The hotel looks fantastic, service is excellent and the rooms are looking great. I had a great time! Dinner and breakfast were good. Conciërge and the people were really helpfull, all in a great atmosphere, worth 5 stars!

Lunch service on the terrace was ignored for over half an hour. Also a burger of 37 euro's should be more special then it was. Also please get some good alcohol free beers for our sporty beer lovers.

The hotel is beautifully designed, The team is wonderful, efficient, pleasant and thoughtful Very convenient ski in & out and the equipment in the shop was of good quality. Pauline, with whom we corresponded prior to our arrival was very helpful and helped us secure restaurants, She had excellent tips. It was also great to be able to schedule massage at the spa in the last minute. Both masseures were very good!

The service was really fantastic with a lot of very attentive, friendly and dedicated staff. The ski shop was outstanding. I loved the breakfast and appreciate the fresh orange juice at breakfast, (although you would expect it from a 5 star hotel). The room and the entire hotel is very cosy and has a very warm feel to it. The ambience at the bar is the best in Val thorens.

Room in the spa is a bit limited with only a handful of loungers. I missed a sweet small treat at turndown service. I thought the extra charge for some breakfast choices was a bit unnecessary in a hotel if this category.

Upon arrival my car was taken away to be parked. My luggage taken care of and room was upgraded which was a pleasant surprise. Location is superb. Spa area was fantastic. Breakfast was great very friendly attentive staff. On departure day I had an early flight out of Geneva… Asked for my car to be ready very early and there it was all prepared, heated seat on! A superb hotel which I will definitely come back to. Thank you for a fantastic stay.

What can I say? There are no words to describe the excellent level of customer service, the staff were absolutely brilliant. When staying 5 star I often find staff a bit stiff and formal. Not here. Here, they were personable and down to earth, whilst still addressing me by name every time I saw them. The bar staff were so friendly and knowledgeable, the reception and concierge staff went over and above as did the ski hire staff and shuttle drivers. The shuttle bus was brilliant, as the hotel ski in, ski out was a bit steep for me. They dropped me off, right to the lift, and picked me up from the same place. You didn't need to book it, you just turned up at reception and off you went.

The steam room could have been turned on a little earlier.

The hotel is excellently maintained, very clean with a modern cozy feel to it. The breakfasts were excellent. The room was comfortable with the most beautiful views. Our stay was very memorable and we would like to return for sure.

Ski out is perfect. But ski in is limited. It took us several rounds to find the track that leads to the hotel.
