Central location, excellent food in the restaurant ( the best we had in Lucknow) , all staff very polite and customer oriented. The terrace was ideal to sit in the evenings. Car arranged by travel desk was very good.

1) repetitive one tone music in restaurant....rather boring on the nerves. 2) no tissues in room 3) dining room staff need to ensure tables fully laid (serviettes, glasses etc) before guests sit at an empty table. 4) pepper and salt dispensers should be on table 5) bathroom needs a towel rod for towels. 6) reception needs to learn about various handicraft showrooms/ shops eg zardosi , so as to guide guests. Perhaps keep a brief list of 4 or 5 leading shops in each category, chikan, zardosi etc.

The restaurant in Sarovar Portico had become a family favourite when I was posted in Lucknow about twenty years ago. Later, when I was transferred out of Lucknow, we would still drop into Sarovar for dinner whenever we visited the city. When my wife and I visited Lucknow recently, we opted to stay in Sarovar, because of its central location as well as our happy memories of the meals we had enjoyed there. The check-in process was smooth and our bags were promptly delivered. The room was fairly spacious and it had elegant furniture that one associates with the 1950s or 1960s. The lighting was adequate and the switches were well accessible (in some hotels it becomes hard to locate the light switches, but luckily this was not one of those hotels!) The bathroom was reasonably sized and well lit. Soap and shampoo were offered in large dispensers mounted on the wall in the shower cubicle. This is certainly more eco-friendly than the tiny bottles of toiletries that most other hotels offer. The eco-friendly streak continues with drinking water – they provide their own water in glass bottles instead of the branded bottles offered elsewhere. An elevator was provided, but we preferred to take the staircase. Coming to the food, we found the buffet breakfast was adequate, though not lavish. We also sampled the buffet dinner with our local guests – the food was great, but the spread was not very large. The service was excellent and the food was reasonably priced. On the whole, we had a very good experience of staying in this hotel and would not hesitate to recommend it to others.

Your pricing should have some space and levy for direct booking and for long stays In times of busy operations especially late evenings simple requests like water delivery services for those in-house guests could he painful.

Excellent location, just a short walk from the Hazratganj shopping area and (if you are willing to brave the traffic) within walking distance from most of old Lucknow. The staff were wonderful and attentive.

The TV and WiFi could use some improvement. When we arrived in our room the TV was not functional. Although the staff soon fixed it the dual controls were confusing. The internet was slow. Compared to other comparable hotels in India we found our package at Sarovar to be overpriced.

This is a very popular hotel with diverse client profiles. The location, just off Hazratgunge, is undoubtedly excellent, with a variety of transport options for sight-seeing or shopping. The staff went out of their way to help in all matters and were extremely responsive. We were happy with our choice of hotel.

The maintenance of appliances needs looking into - the air conditioner mal-functioned in one room, after which the room was changed; the electric kettle had a broken top - these were irritants which the staff corrected when they were pointed out. The breakfast buffet was tasty & adequate but it can be boring to have the same items, with no changes, three consecutive mornings.

Clean, stylish rooms. Great location for evening strolls and for exploring Lucknow.

Disorganised dining room. Orders for tea/coffee at breakfast dealt with individually... ridiculous. Staff should NOT be serving Indian guests from the buffet... IT'S A BUFFET. Help yourself for god's sake. Do you know how annoying this is? For £100 a night, this place is not great VFM... the location just about saves it.

It was comfortable thanks to the staff members, from guys and ladies in Front office or team in the restaurant for breakfast or room service. Housekeeping team kept the room really clean and welcoming especially with a recovery patient in the room.

Very little facilities for the price paid.

The hotel is located in the heart of Hazratganj, a few minutes walk from the Hazratganj metro station. You can avail transport directly from the hotel - rates are affordable or from outside where there is a queue of electric autos. The service is prompt and is utmost professional. The staff at the premises are friendly and go beyond their duties to help you. While I hadn't availed the breakfast option during my stay, I did order some snacks and tea which was very good and met my expectations.

I had to request basic toiletries, again, delivered in lightning fast speed. So no actual complaints.

The room is great, spacious, clean and comfortable. The hotel is walking distance from the main streets on Hazratganj. The breakfast was very good.

There was a bit of an old house smell sometimes, but one gets used to it quickly enough. I don't understand why the shower has to be open with a small glass wall so the whole toilet gets wet when showering. Badly planned.

Location is superb. Room is spacious. Loved their antique furnitures. Great place to stay. Friendly staff and helpful also. Would definitely come and stay here again. Food was good. Biryani was too good.
