Excellent location in a charming neighbourhood, quiet and safe, an easy walk to Asakusa subway which connects well with many key locations in Tokyo. Staff were friendly, helpful and caring, and cleanliness was impeccable. We opted for the package that included traditional Japanese breakfasts, which were excellent, and also evening meals featuring traditional Japanese cuisine. These were served in a charming annexe called Nigou, eight minutes walk from the ryokan. We dined there four times and the food was superb - every night a different menu, featuring top quality ingredients and served with warmth and pride. The ryokan also has an outdoor onsen for which which you can book private sessions, located on the top floor with a view of the Tokyo SkyTree. A truly memorable stay!
As part of the traditional stay experience, the ryokan uses futon beds, which take a bit of getting used to if you aren't familiar with them.

Very relaxing atmosphere, the room is small, dimly lit, tastefully decorated and cozy as part of their concept (though people who don’t like small places shouldn’t come here) The staff are very friendly, I got a welcome snack as soon as I walked in through the front door and was given a optional talk about their ryokan. I was then escorted to my room. Everyone was very friendly throughout the whole thing. If you booked a stay here I also recommend going to their other restaurant Cyashitsu Nigou at least once during your stay for dinner. The food provided by this place is very delicious. The onsen is a private one so you’d have to book it, but it is small and cute, very beautiful!

This is a quaint, welcoming ryokan near the heart of Asakusa. The breakfast was excellent and thoughtfully prepared. The staff were all very welcoming, attentive, and helpful. The room is small, but contains all of the necessities expected. I enjoyed the room's minimalist atmosphere and peaceful space for reflection.
This is a ryokan and you will be sleeping on a foldable mattress with a buckwheat pillow. Sleeping on the floor was a bit stiff for me. Given the small size of the space, I felt a bit cramped when moving around. The main entrance to the ryokan is not clearly marked.

I’ve never rated a stay a perfect 10 but this was fantastic. The staff were amazing and accomodating, greeting us with Japanese confectionary and green tea, taking our (heavy) suitcases up to our room, and making us feel cared about the entire stay. The room was absolutely beautiful. It felt like home which is hard to find in accommodation. The open-air bath was so nice and private with a good view. The breakfast was so nice and made with love. When we left, the staff waited with us for our car and helped us with our suitcases. The location was central to everything, and it was so nice walking through Sensō-ji to get to the Asakusa shopping areas. I loved this place, so worth the price, I hope to be back soon.
We didn’t stay longer.

From the welcome to the goodbye, the staff was wonderful. We loved the beautifully designed, more traditional environment, as well as the boutique experience and personal feel. The dinner experience was truly exceptional, and we also enjoyed the Japanese-style breakfast (we just tried thinking of it as “lunch” and that we would get “breakfast” later). We reserved/used the onsen in the morning before breakfast and were glad we had the chance to try it. Overall a fantastic and memorable experience.
For two adults and a teenager, the main room was pretty cozy in terms of having enough space to open suitcases (one at a time, basically), but that wasn’t really a big deal… we still loved it!

Ryokan so some of the above questions are irrelevant. Size and comfort were great...for a Ryokan (not as opposed to a regular bed in a Western room). Terrific location, very quiet and relaxing, appropriately priced and very comfortable for sleeping on the floor! Reserved the private bath for each night which was wonderful. Food delicious and beautifully presented. Staff could not have been more helpful. Great interactions from initial reservation until arrival and throughout our stay. They did many things to make it as personalized a stay as possible. Very accomodating. For example, we came directly from the airport after a 13 hour flight. I had anticipated that we would not want to go for a formal 2 hour dinner. Instead they prepared a lovely meal for us and brought it to our room. It included a Happy Birthday - inscribed dessert for my husband. Very clean. Excellent bathroom and supplies. On a side street in a relatively lively area and quite peaceful. PS Make sure to walk over to the temple at night. Very close and even more beautiful at night than during the day.
Nothing! It was a great stay. Staff, room, food and experience all excellent.

The experience here overall was AMAZING. As soon as I walked up to the location, the staff stepped out to greet me. They approach everything with the utmost intention and it really shapes the experience. Since it was my birthday they even brought out a special plate for breakfast. I can't speak highly enough about the staff, and the facilities were just as great. The rooftop bath is an amazing experience, with a beautiful rooftop garden that looks out to Tokyo Skytree. The traditional and minimal decor gave a very authentic aesthetic to the place. I will 1,000% be staying here again when I return to Tokyo.

Firstly, the introduction given on check-in, to the culture and the purpose of the ryokan. I loved the location, even though it was in a great location, the road was very silent, so it was peaceful. The staff, very friendly and always keen to help, even after I checked-out. I've made some good friends there. Of all the places I stayed in Japan over 3 weeks, this was my favourite by far. P.S. Toilet and Shower were very clean

This is hands down THE MOST AMAZING and the best accommodation I have ever stayed at in Japan. It's hard to find the words to make justice to our experience. The staff is the most beautiful ever, it truly felt like being part of a family and we were so well looked after. They've put so much care, thought and love on everything. The rooms are amazing and the rooftop open air hot bath is the cherry on top. When I look back at my 2 weeks trip to Japan, Cyashitsu will be one of my core memories. I never felt sad saying bye to an accommodation before, but this was not the case with Cyashitsu. Thank you to the whole team for giving us the best experience ever!

I had an unforgettable stay at this ryokan. Everything about it was amazing from the relaxing sauna to the delicious meals, every moment felt thoughtful and special. But what truly made this experience stand out were the wonderful people working here. I felt genuinely welcomed and ended up becoming really close with some of the staff. In particular, Miyu, Yuki, and Yuto made my stay incredibly memorable. Their kindness, warmth, and friendly conversations added so much joy to my time here.
