I had stayed here before and wanted an hotel close to the Franco/Spanish border in order to visit Donostia and Biarritz at the end of a trip. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The air conditioning wonderful (Europe was in a heatwave) and the food in the restaurant enjoyable - the goat's cheese salad was delicious! Convenient if you are walking the Camino del Norte.

I had forgotten that there are bolster pillows on the beds. I really don't like these. The room was small but adequate but there is little point in putting in a wardrobe when you cannot open the doors or have a chair when there is no space to sit at the table!

Overall, I enjoyed my stay. The staff was nice, breakfast was enough for me. Everything was clean and functional. The location might be off for some people, I chose based on that as I started the Camino at the bridge. The balcony was a plus, I didn’t remember that it was included.

My only complaint is that the road is busy, so it was a bit noisy, and I could hear some other guests from their rooms (like running water, not talking).

Last minute booking after a longer than expected drive meant we made an overnight stop a bit sooner than our planned one further south. Staff super friendly and helpful, the room was quite spacious and clean. We didn’t have breakfast but the food being served in the evening looked good. In a nice little square, walking distance to the bridge over the border.

A little noisy, but not late.

It is within walking distance to Hendaye train station. I’m thankful for the late check-in, because I missed my bus from Irun to Bayonne and I’m so grateful I could book this accommodation at 1.30am to sleep safely and comfortably. The hotel facilities are sufficient for my solo travel needs (Camino walk) and the reception staff are always friendly. The cafeteria serves breakfast at reasonable prices and it was convenient for me to fill my stomach. Thank you.

Excellent location virtually next to the Santiago bridge between France and Spain. Starting point for Spanish Camino del Norte. Also backs onto train station heading into Irun and San Sebastián Not good sound isolation but train noise not a problem for me The internal hotel room doors closed very loudly unless you were careful. Room was however quiet clean but reasonably basic for the price. Wifi fast stable Breakfast included. Good to see organic coffee. Mostly plastic carbohydrate heavy food. More fresh fruit and vegetable would be healthier options. Particularly given the location on the pilgrim route All the Staff kind and helpful.

Thoughtful and helpful receptionist. Appreciate the warm welcome I received even though it was quite late in the evening. Housekeeping on point – rooms were clean and tidy. It’s not luxurious, but it worked well for an overnighter.

Location was not super convenient.

We chose this hotel for the start of our Camino because it was located directly across from the bridge to France. We had a triple room on the top floor, which was somewhat small, but was all we needed. The area around the hotel had limited services and it is about a 15 minute walk to the center of Irun.

The staff were amazing ❣️😁 Food, drinks, accommodation plus most importantly I needed a Hotel to receive my hire e-bike so Hotel Aitana agreed to help. (While others said no😬) The lovely lady at reception was so helpful and is bit of legend❣️😊 Nice to relax & stay in one place which was fabulous for the start of my Camino Del Norte by e-bike🤗

It is very close to the train station in Hendaye, and also to the Camino de Santiago. If you are a pilgrim, it's perfect. The bed is comfortable and everything was clean.

The price is a bit high for what you get. The room is not very modern. The location is good but it is also along a loud street.

The hotel was exactly as I expected. It is not the fanciest hotel, but it fit my needs perfectly. The restaurant was great for both dinner and breakfast. The location was my main reason for choosing to stay at Hotel Aitana as it is close to the bridge that I wanted to start my Camino del Norte hike.

Overall, everything was satisfactory. The bed could be softer and the airflow in the room could be better, but overall, no large complaints.
