This is our second time staying at the Oxford Street Hotel. The rooms are generally small but well maintained and clean. We appreciate that the sofa bed was already set up upon check in. The hotel room is clean, bed was comfortable. The location is great, within walking distance to where we needed to be (i.e. the university), and there are plenty of eateries and small stores nearby. Honestly you can just walk to the hotel from the main train station, if you don't have too much luggage to carry. Otherwise, an Uber is just a 5-min ride away.

This time round, we got a room that was facing the main road. It does get quite a bit of noise throughout the night and the noise does continue till 2-3am from Friday night onwards. May not be the most ideal if you are sensitive to sounds and need a completely quiet room for sleep.

Loved the terrace real sun trap and lovely to have coffee on in the morning and early evening. The hotel is so central but very quiet and the bed was amazing, so comfortable. Beautiful bathroom with bath and walk in shower all fitted to a high standard. L’Occitane toiletries which was a great touch and a large spacious room with all you need. Don’t be put off by the small exterior the hotel behind it is immaculate with great staff!

No breakfast on site but we were directed to a fabulous cafe for the most delicious breakfast two doors up with 10% off for hotel guests.

Location is ideal. Shower and bath was nice. Nespresso machine in room. We appreciated the hotel's willingness to hold our luggage while we explored Oxford before our train ride back to London.

I was under the impression that an extra bed for my son would be available in the room which was booked for 3 adults. I expected a sofa bed. However, upon arrival, there was no sofa and I was told that I would need to pay for a cot but housekeeping had left for the day. I can't imagine how a cot would have fit in a room of that size. The "emergency" (trundle) bed had no sheets on it, so front desk staff brought up sheets for my son to put on himself. Ultimately, it all worked out but stress after checking in after a long day of travel was not what I anticipated.

Location for walking the city was great. Looks a little run down on the outside. Staff very accommodating. In fact, we admired the receptionist for dealing patiently dealing with a totally un-reasonable, rude, loud and over-demanding customer at the desk when we were checking in.

We were placed in a basement (windowless) room and the bathroom had a mechanical noise whenever the water was used - asking at the front desk, they said it was the plumbing/on-demand and nothing could be done. We got used to it. The movable, wall-mounted bathroom vanity mirror was broken and hanging down- we reported to the staff each day (for 3 days) but it was not fixed or attended to by the time we left.

Location was great, and so was staff. They were really nice and accommodating. The hotel itself was quaint. And we loved our larger room with balcony. The city view was great!

Housekeeping kept providing towel service for only two people, and three of us were in the room. We had to call reception regularly to ask for more towels until we asked that they make a note that there were three of us and not two.

Staff were friendly and accommodating. We were given the option to drop our bags and leave in their storage area before check in and after we'd checked out so we could explore the city without our luggage. The room was clean and somewhat spacious for a basement room. No window for the basement rooms but did reduce the overall cost. They did have AC thankfully as it was rather warm which worked well. Shower room was well stocked and was nice and clean. No breakfast on the premises but they have a deal with the cafe/restaurant next door where you get 10% off. The Oxford Brunch Bar in which you can go for breakfast was delicious. Really good selection of quality food at a very reasonable price.

I would have preferred a pump action soap rather than a block for the wash basin but that's more of a personal preference. As the room had no window, a larger TV with a scenery function (e.g. camera view of Oxford) would be pleasant. Not sure I'd like to spend more than 2 or 3 nights in a room without a window, but the hotel does make the stay cheaper by selecting these rooms which is good for a weekend getaway!

Check in host was friendly, knowledgeable and made the check in and check out process smooth, seamless and enjoyable. Two double bed room was spacious enough, but also still a bit on the smaller side. It was clean enough, but the aircondition unit should be cleaned. The bathroom was small but very nice and had impressive heated floors. Location was perfection, you could walk anywhere within 20-25 minutes. Lots of cafes, shops and attractions within minutes of walking. Ideal location, would recommend and will stay again on my next trip to Oxford.

Aircondition to be cleaned, but this is my only 'dislike'. No other complaints!

Location is excellent although entrance door from street rather seedy. Staff very friendly. Daily servicing of room very good, superior quality bed linen, beautifully laundered.

The room was small despite being a superior double. The room was only superfluously clean; window sills and areas around the edge had not been dusted or cleaned. Shower room was depressing.

Staff were lovely and welcoming, room was comfortable, very spacious, clean and decorated superbly...very impressed with decor tbf, bed was comfortable and bathroom/shower was very good...room had everything you need, fridge, iron, safe, kettle. Location was good right on main street opposite the theatre with plenty of access to attractions and local eateries. Felt very safe at all times staying here as a solo traveller with key card access and 24/7 staff. Very impressed with whole hotel.

Even though location was great it was noisy into the evening outside and doors closing throughout the hotel could be heard (if your a heavy sleeper though it will not be a problem). Only freeview avaliable on tv. Some of lightbulbs also did not work.

Great location, lovely room, very nicely appointed

Entrance to property is hard to find and also feels a bit dodgy. You are literally in a vestibule off the street and it made me a bit uneasy. Once inside, you have to take an elevator up to the reception. If my husband hadn’t been with me, I would have felt extremely uncomfortable. But once at reception, it was lovely and front desk receptionist was helpful and friendly!
