Loved the view and closeness to the beach ! The two bedroom unit was very comfy especially the beds and pillows ! Kitchen was fairly well decked out. Hopefully the BBQ gets replaced but we were given a great electric fry pan to cook our BBQ dinner. Our host Shane shared a lot of local info especially where to swim in the mornings . There are penguins who come up from the beach at night which was special . The walk into town took just over 30 mins along the beach and walking tracks . Also the walk across to Diamond Island on low tide. We just fell in love with Bicheno !!
Nothing significant!

We chose this place mainly for the location which was outstanding.(our unit- 1 of 3 had the basics including a microwave oven)We wanted to see the penguins which we did as they were outside on the steps at 5am making very strange sounds with others not far away. When looking out from our balcony we overlooked Diamond Island and a beautiful white sand beach that we had access to. Not to be forgotten is the beautiful sunrise over the ocean We enjoyed our stay here and hope that the penguins will continue to show up here to entertain the guests.
Nothing.

Conveniently located if staying in Bicheno and wanting access to the beach and short drive to the blowhole, Penguin Tour and East Coast Natureworld / tassie devils in the dark to mention a few nearby sights and activities which we experienced and can highly recommend. Bicheno is also a good starting point for daytrip to e.g. Bay of Fire/St. Helens. Our family of four split on two units: Starfish and Magpie - we gathered for breakfast meals in Magpie, however did not test the barbeque/cooking facilities, and conveniently split up to sleep. The washing machine was put to work and worked fine. The host responded quickly to requests for the door code to note while having wifi access in the morning of arrival. Also upon arrival when finding the Starfish had double bed made up and our son and daughter preferred to have separate beds, this was easily addressed. Thank you.
Please remember insect repellant if going to the beach in the twilight/at night, we forgot and regretted it.

We stayed overnight as we wanted somewhere between Freycinet and the Bay of Fires. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the heating worked well. It's close to the beach for a lovely morning beach walk. Although we didn't meet the hosts, they sent us plenty of information about how to get there and we had no problem finding the place even arriving after dark. There was also information in the folder about where to see the penguins, although we arrived too late to do this.
It is a bit peculiar to have the fridge and bench in the bathroom. We arrived after dinner and left the next morning so didn't need to use the kitchen.

The location and view is amazing! The interior is a little dated, but impecably clean and has everything you might need. We appreciated the washing machine and dryer to catch up on laundry and it's just a short drive into Bicheno for dining options. Loved the remotish location with the farmland and water views.
Not really a negative - The driveway is a little tricky to find, but we were provided with great directions.

The Starfish is a lovely little comfortable and peaceful cottage perfect for 2 (could sleep 3). It has a beautiful view and walking access to the beach, thanks to a generous neighbour. We didn't see penguins on the beach but had a surprise visit later in the night. The cottage has a microwave, toaster and kettle and is an easy drive to local supermarket and restaurants (the Lobster Shack!) While it's completely contactless, the communication is fabulous. Overall it's a lovely stay in a beautiful area.

This was perfect for an overnight stay. No cooking facilities in our unit but close to Bicheno to grab something to eat. Lovely walk to an almost deserted beach which was great for walking. The accommodation was clean and comfortable with a lovely deck to sit and enjoy the view and a bit of sunshine. Lovely view over a paddock to the ocean. Very relaxing. Although we didn't see any penguins, we did hear them during the night lol!
Everything was great - no negatives at all!

Beautiful location, quintessential beach hut with lovely bedding, cushions, vibe. Bed was so comfortable, even the pillows (I hate big foamy overstuffed pillows that so many motels seem to have); clean, but with lovely character; just the right amount of crockery and cutlery.
My only criticism is that many of the TV stations didn’t have the picture… sound but no picture. Kept saying it was wrong format, but altering that didn’t make any difference. Perhaps it’s something management can look at.

The location is wonderful, with privately arranged access to the beach. Out of town a bit but nice and quiet for it. Gorgeous views of the water and the sunrise. Was great to have a washing machine and dryer, and the kitchen had enough to be self sufficient.
The property is a little older and could do with some updates, but that didn’t affect our stay at all.

We had a lovely two night stay at Beaches Bicheno while visiting Freycinet. The unit was excellent and very cozy. The combined washroom with mini kitchen amenities was a helpful bit which helped us store some food. Some way to heat it up would be a great addition, but we had no complaints. The location is also right next to some islands which you can access at low tide, which we liked walking over to and exploring. We found out while staying there that there are penguins which visit the location. Despite hearing them and going outside both nights to watch, we never saw them but they are surely around. Otherwise, we had a very pleasant stay here while on the coast.
