Nice separation of the tatami area and the bed.

If on public transport will be inconvenient as this is ard 3km from the town area. It is more for self driving location.

The room for four people (two single beds and two futon beds) was a bit small, but it was ok for one night.

Accomodation around Lake Toya can be expensive but Hotel Nakanoshima gives a relatively less expensive option if you are driving. Parking was free and plentiful. The location is a 8-10 mins drive from the ferry terminal, food options and the 7-11 convenience store. An unexpected surprise was a wild flower field located 3mins walk away which was filled with sunflowers.

The hotel facilities are old and the ventilation fan in the onsen was not working. The room space was also limited making it challenging to open your suitcase.

In the room: WiFi didn’t work at all! Refrigerator was actually freezing the water and food which I put inside it. While closing a door I had to slam it really hard, because it stucks, so it was dealing a lot noise to people in another rooms probably. In bathroom I had only a shampoo, no body soap. The location is only for people who travel with a car, there almost no cafes nearby the hotel, and you will have to walk a lot to get to some places.

It’s close to the lake. The double room was spacious. The hotel was quiet and mostly clean. The bath was very small but no other people were there, so like a private bath.

There were a lot of dead flies on the windows. The room was on the third floor, no elevator. My husband wished there had been an outdoor bath. The restaurant was not open for dinner.

The hotel is located in the very pleasant place.The room was nicely designed with the Japanese traditional touch. There is an onsen on the spot.

No food served in the hotel. This is very uncomfortable. Especially regarding the fact that the hotel is located far from concentration of restaurants and stores.
