Very friendly staff, all over the hotel. Convenient location, free tram to city center just outside the door Our room( apartment) was very big with a huge livingroom, two bedrooms, bathroom and also separat toilet and a nice terrace with nice furniture. The style was simple, so you will not find cozy interior and stylish furniture, but everyhing was clean, the beds were comfortable and the look was green and " ecological".. Good breakfast( not fantastic, but good enough) We would chose this hotel again

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Green City Hotel Vauban. The hotel is impeccably clean and located in a peaceful, eco-friendly neighborhood. The staff were exceptionally kind and helpful, making me feel welcome throughout my visit. The location is excellent—just a short tram ride from the city center, with tram line 4 stopping right outside the hotel and running frequently. The rooms are modern, quiet, and thoughtfully designed. The beds and mattresses were extremely comfortable—I slept wonderfully every night. The sound insulation is excellent, though the neighborhood itself is already very calm and quiet.

If I may suggest one small improvement, perhaps the price of breakfast could be slightly lowered to make it more accessible for all guests.

Everything was clean and I loved the basement with all the additional food, drink, utensils, washing/drying machines, etc. Figuring out the washing/drying app was the only hiccup, but that's a small detail that didn't take away from the overall experience.

I thought the automated check-in experience could have been more clear. It wasn't obvious, to me anyway, that I needed to put a blank key into the machine first before following the steps to create it. Others may not have this same problem.

Staff were welcoming and helpful. Hotel has great eco credentials and well designed. They also provided free travel card to use on public transport. Great location right next to tram stop so only approx. 15mins into town and train station, also near a nice coffee shop, restaurant and a couple of bakeries and supermarket. Breakfast had good variety and rooms were clean and temperature controlled which was great for August heatwave!

Brilliant for getting the tram into town which is included in the price of the room. Very helpful staff and safe, sheltered bicycle storage. Highly professional and very clean we only stayed one night but were very impressed.

I wasnt particularly impressed by the buffet breakfast; as much as I enjoyed the choice and the fruit the savoury side to breakfast wasnt as much to my taste and the fried eggs were cold when we got there. Some potato pancakes would have been nice. But perhaps this is unfair as we Brits do have quite different ideas about breakfast as those on the continent.

It's a great hotel, apartment is perfect for family of 4. Staff are helpful, 24 hour reception and the free tram/bus travel is a major plus for staying in the area. The tram is necessary to get from the hotel to the city centre, but it's a pleasure as the tram system is clean, safe, not over crowded, frequent, run late into the night and generally a good experience. It is our second time at this hotel when visiting Europa Park/Rulantica. It is a long journey when compared to hotels in Rust and surrounding areas, but for us it was definitely worth getting to experience Freiburg. It takes just over an hour to get to Europa; 15m tram to Freiburg Train station, 30m train to Ringsheim and a 10m shuttle bus to Europa. This journey is possible up midnight in both directions. Alternatively there is a bus that runs from Freiburg direct to Europa that would save you around 15-20 minutes but it only runs once or twice in each direction.

Cool hotel in a quiet neighborhood, super accessible by tram, perfect with a baby. The staff was helpful, super available and lovely. We booked one of the studios: it was great, comfortable, and really big! Super terrace, big and functional bathroom, comfy beds.

I was sure that the studio had a kitchenette - which would have been useful to warm up the baby meals and get a coffee in the morning. But, nothing too grave - maybe a miscommunication on the app?!

The hotel building is beautiful- modern with lots of plants and greenery growing down the outside. Our room was very spacious and quiet with a good view. The bed was very comfortable and the staff were happy to bring us extra pillows when asked. We were given a free pass to use the tram and bus system which saved us money, and the hotel is a short tram ride from the centre of Freiburg. We would stay here again. The eco credentials of the hotel and the minimal design as part of that were superb.

Like many hotels in Europe, it’s less common to have a kettle in the room and this is the same. However staff were happy to fill up our flasks with hot water when asked. I really like a cup of herbal tea before bed and don’t want to sit downstairs in my pyjamas to drink it!

Spaceous rooms, clean and comfortable. The staff is really nice and helpful. It's less than 10 min by tram to the city center, and the hotel provides free public transport cards, which makes everything very easy. The breakfast is also wonderful.

The room was really great. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The transport connections to the train station and city centre were excellent. I cannot comment on the breakfast because I didn't book it.

For a hotel advertising itself as being sustainable, I felt this "sustainability" was sometimes undermined by, for example, the room being cleaned daily and my towels (even those hung up) were replaced daily.
