The beds were comfortable, and Paul was very friendly and helpful. View from the room was very nice, and there was a lovely breeze coming in from the water. Nice sites close by, and close (by car) to lots of shopping and restaurant experiences. (Beautiful waterfall views at Elk Falls.)

Parking lot was very tight and sometimes a challenge to get an SUV in. But, that is not really something that can be helped due to the limited distance between the front of the motel and the road. Locks on doors could be updated. Coversation from upstairs neighbors could be heard clearly late into the night.

My wife and I have stayed in Campbell river on our travels from the UK several times and always choose this motel as our preferred choice. It is located right on the coastal highway and gives easy access to and from the town. The view from the room balcony as the sun rises really is a great start to the day. We have, over the years seen humpback 🐋 Wales from the balcony and this last visit had a pod of dolphins go past against the tide barely 50 metres from the shore. There are laundry facilities on site, at 3 dollars for washing and the same to dry.

Although there is parking in front of the rooms, take care when entering as space between large vehicles and a retaining wall can be a bit tight.

THE VIEW! You can’t beat it! I had a king suite and it had two big beds - one in a separate bedroom and a full kitchen, dining table, outside seating etc! No housekeeping unless you ask which I liked. Coffee machine and supplies provided.

From the outside it looks like a boring motel. It’s a little dated inside but the view makes up for it. The room got very hot! I didn’t use the AC because they said it I didn’t have it (maybe it just didn’t work) the sea breeze is great but you need front and back open to make it actually cool the room down.

The view from our room and balcony was amazing. We spent our spare time looking for wildlife whilst sat on the balcony. Unfortunately we didn’t see any whales but we did see hummingbirds, herons and eagles. The room was well equipped with a kettle, coffee maker, fridge and microwave. There wasn’t any crockery or cutlery but that’s fairly standard in a motel. Everywhere was spotless and everyone was very obliging providing more coffee when we’d run out.

We booked a two queen room with kitchenette and it was perfect for what we needed! The view from the balcony is gorgeous and we loved sitting out and watching the sunset- the view from the bed in the main room while hanging out can't be beat. It was convenient for getting around and easy to find as well. The front desk staff are so friendly! The two queen room has one queen in a bedroom and then one in the "living room" area separated by a partial wall from the kitchen.

The room ran hot - we are here in very early summer season (temps were 50-60F/10-15C during the day and down to 40F/5C at night so we figured the building heat is still on spring settings).

Stayed in double queen kitchenette. Perfect Staff / owner’s were amazing - even offered to get our bike to the 2nd floor. Beds were super comfortable Very clean laundry on site. Views cannot be beat Location is perfect

I dont mind but the parking but it makes me take a star - not their fault but big vehicles make it hard to park.

The above tide motel was the perfect place to stay. If you’re looking for great value for money, friendly welcome, cleanliness and an unbeatable view then you’ll love it. Walking distance to restaurants, shops and bear / whale tour companies too. We were upgraded to a room with a balcony and kitchen which really made a difference enjoying evenings in with the ocean view (definitely worth booking if you can). Thank you to the owner and this motel for being a memorable part of our honeymoon exploring Canada!

The highlights of the stay were the staff and the view. The folks at the Above Tide Motel are very friendly and helpful. The view from the back of the motel is very nice and there is seating set up to while your time away overlooking the ocean.

It’s not really the fault of the property but it is a bit inconveniently located. Be prepared for a short drive or a 20-30 min walk to get into an area that has restaurants.

Great location. Close to everything. The ocean side is lovely, it doesn’t seem like you are in the midst of a town. So quiet and beautiful. Outdoor tables and chairs set up along the fence so you can enjoy the ocean in both sun and shade.

Really my only complaint is that I really, really prefer cotton or cotton blend sheets. The microfibre sheets are terrible, in my opinion. Slippery and they don’t breathe when you are sleeping. Also a bit more of a quilt or duvet would be nice. But… I still loved staying there and actually did have a good sleep!

I chose the Above Tide Motel due to it's closeness to the hospital and it's inexpensiveness. I knew the property was a budget friendly one, and the room did seem old. I was pleasantly surprised by how clean the room was and by how well appointed it was. I had everything I needed for a 2 night stay. Microwave, keurig, fridge, wifi, and lots of lighting in all the right places. I was on the ground floor with a queen sized bed. A small room, perfect for one person. But the best part was the little grassy area right out my front door - 2 lounge chairs directly overlooking the ocean. I watched plenty of ships pass by and heard sea lions barking at night. I really enjoyed my stay!

The bathroom was very very tiny. OK for one person though.
