The location was excellent, and picturesque and having private access to the island was special. There was a heat wave, but fans were provided helping somewhat. Learning about the long history and age of the hotel was so interesting. With age comes a quaint and well-worn feeling of welcome. A lovely spot to stay, even though somewhat expensive.

No AC. The staff was busy in the restaurant but service was still inattentive. We had to ask for items needed and waited lengthy times. The food was not as tasty as expected for the prices and reviews.

Set in the beautiful village of Bibury in the Cotswold, this lovely olde worlde pub offers good accommodation in a lovely setting. Friendly staff, nice homely bedrooms and bathrooms. Nice outside bar area and good food. Lovely garden by the stream to sit for a drink or just soak up the sun.

Parking!! Only 2 tiny car parks which I assume would be permanently full and probably illegally used by general tourists to the very popular village. We couldn’t get a place anyway and had to pay £8 for a couple of hours till the day tourists went home and then moved our car to a closer free space for the night. I appreciate the hotel can’t do anything about this and we were told they are looking to make a better hotel car park but space is limited. I feel they could have some agreement with the village car park for a better rate for hotel customers. Otherwise everything was pretty perfect!

The Swan is perched at the edge of an idyllic Cotswold village. We had the Whooper cottage. It was beautifully decorated and had a lovely hot tub in its private courtyard. A huge, modern two-person shower and a giant bath tub made this cottage wonderful. There was also a pleasant sitting area, both inside the cottage and on a sunny patio.

With all the good intentions in the world, as well as a very good chef, nothing replaces good service staff and a proper restaurant manager. The seemingly "new" staff tried hard, I'll give them that. The server from Romania held things together as far as she could. Perhaps she should be the manager(?) In any case, service was quirky. Breakfast was a poor flow at the buffet and getting bread was a mystery. But, when the food arrived, it was delicious. Two other things were strange: the refrigerator was wrongly chosen for a cottage. All sorts of funny noises and heater noise went on all through the night. It was all interesting but I didn't sleep well.

The Swan Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was filling and tasty and the restaurant was a pleasant experience for any meal. We did manage to park in the car park, which had been a concern and after about 7pm the village was peaceful with minimum traffic. If you like classic cars - then the nearby 'The Classic Motor Hub' is worth a visit.

The shower plumbing in our first room stopped providing hot water and when the staff were unable to fix it - they moved us to another room. Even in the second room the bathroom plumbing didn't inspire confidence, although we did both manage to get a hot shower on our second morning. The village is very popular which means that during the day there is a lot of traffic and many tourists.

Beautiful building, room + bathroom were very luxurious and comfortable. We had both breakfast and dinner at the Swan and both were wonderful. Location is great for the small town. Personnel were friendly. There were parking spots at the hotel (usually).

Our first night was rather noisy due to a Wedding party that went on fairly late into the night - a risk one takes when you stay at a location with events such as this. There is limited parking at the hotel, especially if there is an event going on there (there was a wedding party going on during our arrival and first night). It is not the Swan's fault, but parking could also be a little obnoxious if attempted during peak/tourist-bus drive-through hours.

The Swan Inn is well presented and comfortable. Our room was spacious with a desk and winged chair. The bathroom was well fitted out with a bath, over the bath shower, toilet and two sinks. A good supply of Molten Brown products was an excellent touch. We ate at the bar on our first night, food good and service excellent. We experienced breakfast, on three mornings in the restaurant. The menu afforded good choice and the cold buffet bar was excellent, as was the service.

Our room was too hot, especially at night, if one is sleeping without a cover, in January there's an issue. The shower, when up to temperature, was excellent, however, one had to 'run' said shower for 8 minutes to achieve this - very wasteful.

Room and beds very comfortable. Staff friendly helpful and discreet. Meals were mostly excellent, freshly prepared and with good quality ingredients. Location was excellent.

Supply of hot water to the washbasin was unreliable - there seemed to be none later in the day although the bath/shower generally ran hot. We mentioned it to staff. Our first breakfast wasn’t up to the standard of later ones - there seemed to be a staff shortage with many apologies for delay. But the food and beverages were not fresh when they reached us. We were awakened at 4 am one night by noisy people passing by our room.

The staff were very friendly, welcoming us with open arms. Dinner and breakfast was delicious. The bedroom was spotless, warm and cosy! The staff arranged petals in the shape of a heart for our anniversary/Valentine’s Day stay over. One of the nicest things anyone has ever done for us! Thank you Hugh!! We enjoyed visiting the famous Arlington Row, walks along the river and village and the trout farm. We were lucky to find a car parking spot next to the hotel.

We really loved our stay at Swan Hotel, Bibury. We just wanted a quiet little getaway to find our inner peace, which was what we got!

Location was idyllic but parking was a nightmare although hotel did their best in trying circumstances. Staff were excellent throughout hotel. Food was very good although after two evening meals on the same menu became boring. Bathroom was exceptional with good quality towels and bath products Breakfasts were excellent and set us up for the day!

Parking although as a tourist I was part of the problem that is Bibury. Hotel staff did help us by pass that problem and realise it must be a daily nightmare for staff to have to negotiate that problem but they did it with good grace . Second car park was temporarily out of use
