They had a large pool with gorgeous views, very spacious room and bathroom, excellent selection for breakfast buffet, though we didn’t get to use the public bath, that’s also available if you want. Location was perfect as well whether you were coming from the Beppu station or the Beppu Kitahama bus station via Oita airport. There are really good restaurants nearby as well. If you’re renting a car, they also have a deal with one of the parking lots and you only pay 600JPY for overnight/24hrs.

Check in is at 3pm but you can leave your stuff for storage if you’re early.

Very friendly and professional staff. Great value for a spa hotel, but definitely more expensive than a typical hotel. We have tattoos, and there was absolutely no problem using the spa area. The hot baths and sauna in the men's section were great. There's an all-you-can-drink self-serve 1000 yen bar area - yes, it really is 1000 yen and yes, you really can have anything you want from a selection of excellent shochus, sakes, but also wines beers and whiskey/gin/vodka.

The women's section unfortunately doesn't have a sauna. The infinity pool's cute and warm but a little shallow. The sauna tent never really gets hot. The rooms are big, with a great bathroom and chill-out area, but there's not a lot of room for larger suitcases.

The hotel felt luxurious when we arrived and the staff were all so friendly and kind. The room was lovely (much bigger than a typical hotel room in Japan) and the bed was wide and comfy. The spa (in the building next door) was absolutely lovely and I had the best massage there (and the masseuse also was really kind and nice)! The rooftop pool was really cool as well - we’ve never been somewhere like that before so it was an amazing experience! The location is also great, near the station.

It’s nothing major, but the curtains in our room had some stain on them which was a little off putting- but the room seemed spotlessly clean other than that!

The reason we chose the Amanek Beppu Yula-re for our stay in Beppu, was the rooftop swimming pool! And it didn’t disappoint! We loved ending the day with a visit to the pool and public bath! And the views over the city and bay from the 15th floor were spectacular! We had a suite room with Tatami Area and Hot Spring Bath, and I will admit I was a bit disappointed with the condition of the shower room.. however we didn’t really use it as we would visit the public bath on the 14th floor instead! The room itself was comfortable for our family of 2 adults & 2 teens.

This hotel was the busiest we stayed in during our 3 weeks in Japan! The lobby, the pool, the public bath, and breakfast were always busy with lots of people! I also don’t feel the Suite Room was great value for money, and I would probably reconsider staying here again.. unless we were in summer and really wanted a pool!

Good location close to JR station and ctr of town that offered lots of restaurant choices. Hotel has lots of facilities gym, onsen , sauna swimming pool. Rooms are comfortable , shower facilities work well. buffet breakfast had plenty of choices western - Asian. Staff were always very friendly. Tip: if you don’t hire a car buy a 1/-2 day bus pass to see local area attractions .also the Beepu park is worth a visit.

Gym had limited equipment, free weights only up to 10kg . room had limited space to store cloths , don’t bring a large suitcase! in our room Toto toilet wash didn’t function very well. Also hotel has some annoying rules as regards where you can sit in the evening to enjoy a drink. Finally not a fault of the hotel but we thought city felt like it’s best days had passed it by and needed more upkeep ie we walked passed the beach in the morning snd it was filled with rubbish which was very un-Japanese.

Extremely nice staff that were very willing to help us out with reservations and spoke perfect English. Very clean and comfortable room with a nice view. The onsen was spacious, the rooftop pool was heated and quite large. There also is a tent-sauna on the roof.

Nothing comes to mind

This hotel was incredible. The room was beautiful and the bed was incredibly comfortable which is a rare find in Japan (by western standards). The staff were very welcoming and spoke very good English. The view from the heated rooftop pool was amazing, perfect for sunset. The views from the onsen were also impressive. It is only a short (3-5 min walk to everything you need (convenience stores, restaurants, bars, train and bus station. The design of the hotel was very impressive. I only have good things to say about it. If you are staying in Beppu, look no further.

Absolutely nothing

Perfect location to visit the center, close to the shopping malls and lots of nice restaurants. Very friendly staff and the room was fantastic for us as family. The spa and rooftop pool were the reason that we booked this hotel and it was really enjoyable. Very good breakfast buffet with local ingredients and dishes as well. Nothing to complain!

For sure good value for the money but it was still a bit pricy. The (colorful) Ukata to rent was all gone by the end of the day, which was pity because they were so beautiful and especially the kids were looking forward to wearing it. But there were Ukatas/pyjama in the room, just not as nice as those ones from the lobby. ;-)

We booked a spacious tatami room for 3 and it was amazing (11th floor, ocean view - as requested). We liked - room + view + lightening - rooftop pool + whirlpool + stunning view - onsen + sauna (14th floor) - free juices + coffe after 2 p.m. (apple juice tasted like very good apple juice in Austria - wow!) - all you can drink (free flow) for only 1.000 Yen - parking discount (600 Yen/day at nearby parking house) - friendliness of the staff

Nothing important comes to mind. Breakfast is a bit expensive (we did not choose it primarily because we were traveling with a toddler).

We were upgraded to the deluxe double Japanese Style room on the 9th floor and the view was incredible. Also one of the largest rooms and bathrooms we stayed in, in Japan. Hot tip: if you want more space, go for a Japanese style tatami room. These tatami rooms are generally double the size of standard hotel rooms all around Japan. The expansive view of Beppu from the almost floor to ceiling windows was spectacular. Their indoor and outdoor onsens were also beautiful and they of course supplied a yukata, towels, shampoo, body wash, conditioner etc. They also had a beautiful swimming pool on the roof which we didn't use as the weather wasn't great, although a few guests did regardless.
