Room was clean, location was easy to find. Bed was clean and acceptable, can see part of the Ocean was enjoyable stay.

This trip started out as sketchy but ended up being a very pleasant stay, thanks to James. He is either the owner or the manager, I'm not sure which. There was a probelm with the toilet which he fixed right away. After talking to him at some length, we discovered he is trying his best to upgrade and repair all that the previous owners left undone, but it will not happen overnight. He spoke with pride about what he has been able to accomplish so far, pointing out all the improvements. I can't wait to stay there again to see all that he has accomplished.

Well of course the toilet problem was an issue, but as soon as he knew about it (apparently cleaning people did not inform him of the problem) he promptly fixed it.

Our 2 queen bed room had 2 rooms which was nice.

Didn't have enough soap, shampoo at hand! There was no hair dryer! Not enough tables or place to put your stuff while there were couches and single soft chair that we never use as they can't be cleaned like sheets and bed covers. So we never used those. The person in the office wasn't very comfortable to talk to! Not rude but I guess it is his personality! Also I don't like carpeted floors, hardwood is better. Also no AC in the room . Fridge is much smaller than other motels and basically doesn't keep anything cold!

The. 4 Winds is an older Motel that has had a very nice facelift. Very clean. I was returning home from a family reunion by myself, so I only wanted a single queen, so they gave me a suite with a sofa in a separate area from the bed. The price was very reasonable for a very comfortable room. The motel is an easy walk to the center of town right across the street from the ocean. There’s no view to speak of but you can hear the ocean. We drive up the coast at least once a year and will definitely be stopping here again.

For the price I paid there wasn’t anything more than you could reasonably expect. It was really a very nice economy motel, much nicer than some places I have stayed for twice the price.

Great price, location and staff was very friendly and nice.

The rooms could definitely use some remodeling. The mattress hurt my back a little bit. The bathroom had a constant odor. Keep in mind, it is an old hotel. Everything did work as should when we needed to use it. Also the room has constant smell of pet odor in the rooms. So if you have allergies, you might, I wanted to consider a different hotel.

Location, location, location Perched above Hwy 101 on the inland side, J could see across the parking area to the ocean Restaurants and activities were all within 1/2 mile I liked the generous size of a front room facing west, it had a living room area with a couch and a TV, then a bedroom area with another GV, then the bathroom The room was clean, abd the bed was comfortable

Minor issues due to renovation But Tony at the front desk told me about them ahead of time, and offered to let me stay at a sister property in Newport I’m glad I stayed

The room was very good sized and very clean for the age of the motel. Very quiet, we didn't hear anyone around us.

Booking.com said there is private beach access from the property. There was not... that was the only bummer! We just had to walk a ways, but that was fine.

It didn't break my budget.

If check in time is 3, maybe the office shouldn't be running errands till 4. Either change check in time, which everyone would understand or be there. If I am paying with hard earned money, and possibly have timing issues, be there

The staff was very friendly and eager to make my stay a pleasant one. The room was clean, bed fresh and comfy, and no funny smells. Could not beat the value. It was an older facility but you could tell the staff worked hard to make the most of what they had.....All and all a good night sleep.

Not beach front but hardly their fault.....The TV could have been bigger but I may be a bit spoiled. The hot water mix valve was a bit tricky but reminded me of our first house so....we got by.

Pillows and bed firm and comfortable. An unsolicited free upgrade to a nicer room was gracious and appreciated. Depoe Bay is becoming a favorite spot, and it's closeness to other wonderful coastal towns just enhance the value q

Quibbles: heat hard to regulate, which has been true in every rental I've stayed at. Could have used an extra blanket, didn't see any, but had my own.(I aso didn't ask).
