Good location and quiet. We have stayed here before.

The front desk was a bit grumpy. Asked if we could check in early and said “I’ve got nothing for you right now”. Came back and checked in Antonio was amazing. Tried to drop off the keys at 9:45 am the next day and the office was locked with the staff sitting at the front desk and all the lights on. Would have loved a warmer welcome at arrival and departure. That makes a world of a difference on the guest experience.

The view, the staff, the rooms

The beds a bit small, outlets weren't great, bathrooms were tiny. Also they really need to upgrade the coffee makers to coffee pots. These rooms have kitchens, they're set up to stay and cook in, so i feel like a regular coffee pot or a Kurig would be better. The ones in there need special filters, and don't make hot enough coffee. Also my room was advertised for a few cooking amenities like a toaster that it did not have. Still a good bargain, just would have prepared more if I would have known.

The check in/check out process was quick and easy. The view was spectacular. I really enjoyed watching the tide come in, late at night. The room was comfortable, after we turned the heat down. The room was clean and had everything we needed. We enjoyed the fireplace.

My only complaint is that the outdoor ashtray was about 6-8 feet front our front door and has a very strong odor. I smelled it every time we walked by. Also, the room could use some blackout curtains for those who like to sleep in.

It is a bit hard to rate the Esther Lee in comparison to other places we have stayed in Lincoln City. Our one-bedroom unit with kitchen had everything we needed, and the furniture including the bed was all comfortable and seemed to be fairly new. However, this is an older motel, and there are some signs of wear such as rust on the baseboard heater in the bathroom and carpet which isn't the best floor covering for a beach motel. WiFi was good. Our room was quiet. There is no breakfast option, but we prefer to make our own and enjoy the view, so that was fine for us. It is only a 5-minute walk to Inn at Spanish Head if you want to go out for breakfast, drinks, or dinner with a view. We chose this spot for the view and beach access. A minus tide was predicted for early morning, and checkout was not until 11 AM so we could visit the beach early without checking out of our room. We were comfortable and would definitely stay here again in the future, but some people might be looking for more "luxury."

We had stayed here before, some years ago, and knew that we could walk down an access road to an area with tide pools. Unfortunately, that access was blocked by construction. We were still able to find our way to the beach via a longer walking route from the motel following detour signs. It would have been nice if that alternate route had been mentioned at check-in.

Incredible location right on the oceanfront. Unobstructed 180 degree views from our 1 bedroom suite. Stunning sunsets! Appears to be very clean. Nice bedding. Nicely appointed kitchen with apartment sized fridge and full stove with oven. The gas fireplace was nice and cozy.

The bed was a full or double. Really wish they had at least a queen. Not a negative, but the property & rooms are dated and “vintage”. But they are in good condition and this just adds to the charm.

The view from the room is spectacular, and access to the beach is easy. Great location! There were conflicting messages - the Booking confirmation said we needed a $300 cash damage deposit but they didn't ask for it. The sign at the front desk said "no wifi" but there was a login and password on the welcome letter (there was no wifi). There was a sign on the side of the building that said "no pets" but they put us there with our dog.

Ease of check-in.... They had no problem accommodating or late arrival. The bed was incredibly comfortable. The view was stellar. Laughing in bed, window open being lulled to sleep by crafting waves .... Priceless. Also lived not hearing every mine the neighbors or those above us made. It was rare to hear much from other rooms!

I only wish there was private beach access..... The view makes one want to just hop down to the beach .... But it's not that simple. But that's the ONLY negative!

Gorgeous views, friendly front office staff. Love the lobby with board games, puzzles, books, and movies to borrow. Close to the beach. Small kitchen with all you need. Adorable dog area with fire hydrants and a cleanup station.

The neighbor’s tv reflected in our window at night, there was no AC and it was a bit warm (which is unusual), there was some kind of contraption on the ceiling that had a bright light go off every few minutes. None of this would stop us from coming back, though. We loved it here!

Perfect view of the coast and waves. The room itself was extremely clean - like new!

The first gal I encountered at the reception desk was not particularly friendly when asked about the possibility of early check-in. Had a much better experience when we actually checked in. Very courteous and helpful young man! We wished the window facing the ocean would e been one we could open, if only a little bit, to hear the waves crashing. Otherwise, great room!

The property was very well maintained, with a gorgeous view of the ocean out of the rooms. The path to the beach was partially blocked off due to some construction but didn’t hinder our access. Everything you could need was in the room or listed clearly on the welcome sheet. The WiFi was a bit spotty but we didn’t end up using it much anyways. Lots of great things on the TV for a cosy night in bed. Great hospitality with the reception and house cleaners. Will absolutely be back
