When I got there the room I was given was not clean and the bed was unmade. I alerted the front desk agent and he upgraded me to a better room at no additional charge. I had planned to stay with friends for my second night in town, however, the room that I was upgraded to was so comfortable and nice that I stayed an additional night. Of course the additional night was at the full rate of the room cost, but it was wroth it. This is what I'd call great customer service and a win-win solution.

I would've been nice to have seen the view from your roof deck, but it was raining the day I left so the hotel had closed the area due to safety concerns.

The hotel is a very fun boutique style right in the heart of downtown. The best part of this hotel is the rooftop patio, spectacular views and they let you take drinks from the bar up there, what a treat! Nice continental breakfast with gluten free bread option.

The website doesn't give much detailed info that you might be looking for- hair dryer in the room? refrigerator? do they offer early check in or late check out? I was told that you can potentially get into your room early if you inquire day of and they might be able to get your room ready first, I was traveling for work and was hoping to get in sooner than 4pm. When I called day of, I was told by someone else that they did not do early check in ever and seemed annoyed that I was hoping then to at least have them hold onto my luggage so I could go kill time while waiting for my room. Besides that one person that was rude and curt in all of our interactions, everyone else was that we interacted with was very nice.

The room was beautiful. Nice heated floors in the bathroom and a portable air conditioner had been added to the room. I was not expecting AC in a hotel as historic as this one. It was appreciated.

There is no on site parking, which normally is not a problem, but there is a Sunday street market during the spring/summer. The street market is right outside the hotel and makes it impossible to park closer than two blocks away. Not the fault of the hotel, but it would have been nice to know that before we arrived.

The staff was always incredibly sweet and willing to help with anything I needed. I honestly think if I had a refrigerator in my room, I wouldn't have interacted as much as I did, so that turned out ok!

My only negative is I wish I DID have a fridge in my room. Wouldn't have bothered the front desk as much (multiple times per day!), and would have been able to have leftovers without having to come back downstairs. But, just a minor inconvenience...!

The breakfast was fine. Sufficient to my needs. We loved the elegant renovation of our room. Just as advertised, the beds were very comfortable and we enjoyed he location's convenience to boites and the Liberty.

What I didn't like was that the front door was so hard to open. Wished there was a handicap button function to help open it while pushing a suitcase. This is true also for the shower doors, my friend and I both had difficulty pushing them into place. I was also disappointed that there wasn't any refrigeration in the room. Restaurant food is so expensive yet plentiful and there was no place in the room to store doggy bags or drinks. I'm sorry I didn't think to ask the main desk to help.

We think the location is ideal: walking distance to excellent restaurants and the Sunday farmer's market is right out the front door. The decor held over from the early 1900's is lovely. The staff are attentive and helpful. We had the exercise room all to ourselves.

There are few things to not to like. This trip we had an unmade bed after staff cleaned the room and refreshed the towels--I suspect they got called away and didn't remember to finish.

The location is excellent!! The front desk went above and beyond, I mean really really excellent!!

We were in room 208. The furniture layout is really strange. The air conditioner could easily fit in the corner instead of taking up space better used to access the right side of the bed. The desk and tv stand should be flipped so the person on the right side of the bed can have a clear view of the tv instead of the desk. A mirror over the desk would be very useful. Breakfast was not nearly as good as we remembered from previous visits.

The Hotel Elliott has such a great, central location that you can walk anywhere within downtown. The hotel is a charming historic hotel. The complimentary breakfast was nice. The staff was very welcoming.

The temporary air condition in the room was very loud but we were able to turn it off and open the windows which ended up much more comfortable. There were some spots on the carpet.

The rooftop garden with a view is exquisite. Breakfast is better than most. The location in central Astoria allows for easy access on foot to many of the areas local bookstores and eateries. We do this as an anniversary trip every year. I also recommend the farmer's market/ street fair every Saturday and a ride on the trolley along the Columbia side of Astoria. Also there are museums and historic buildings within walking distance as well.

Great price that included a full breakfast; within blocks of the Columbia River and breweries; and very close-by street parking.

One front desk person needs to improve her engagement with guests when they check in and leave. Barely a word out of her; no "Welcome to..." and no "Hope you enjoyed your visit...". Wasn't mean or grumpy, just completely flat.
