Overall, our experience at the hotel was lovely, it was our first time staying here and it fulfilled our expectations. Upon checking it, we were pleasantly surprised as our room had been upgraded at no extra cost - The beds were super comfortable, spacious rooms, and the free goodies in the fridge was a lovely extra. The amenities such as the pool, gym, and sauna were well maintained and enjoyable. My husband and I treated ourselves to a back massage which was exceptional, staff were super friendly.

Not much to say here, however the range of pillows could be improved - They were quite hard and a soft one would have been nice to have in the room.

The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The room was large and comfortable and the upstairs was generally quiet. The pool was clean . There was ample parking. Breakfast was very good with plenty of choice. There were complimentary drinks in the minibar, which was nice. The bathroom was well stocked and the bed was comfortable.

The cleaning in the room, could have been better. Empty bottles weren't taken away and some crumbs were left on the bedside unit. The coffee machine leaked water from the reservoir The room was quiet until the next room was occupied with a connecting door, which was not well insulated. In order to get quiet room, we had a room a good five minute's walk from reception. A couple of chairs on the way for a breather would have helped my wife! The food in the evening was pretty good, but expensive and of the nouvelle cuisine variety, huge plates and small portions.

We had two nights as part of a deal which made it excellent value. On the downside, having booked a superior room with a view, we were initially allocated a room with a view over the car park. We took this up with a member of the Reception team (Laurence, I think) who immediately changed our room to one with a view over the golf course. He was extremely professional and helpful in his response. We ate in the bar on both evenings at the hotel and were entirely happy with the food on offer. Again, the staff in the bar were both professional and friendly, and the bar is a very pleasant place to sit over a drink or something to eat. Finally, as ever, breakfast was excellent, and made even better by the external view.

Excellent location for Grantham and Lincoln visits. Very comfy room. Lovely staff. Very pretty location near the golf course and woods. Breakfast was tasty, coffee great.

We got down at 9.15am for breakfast but some of the cooked items and pastries weren’t supplied. Thought that was a bit early for the breakfast items not to be replenished. There didn’t seem to be a fan to expel the air and moisture from the shower?! We were in the furthest part of the hotel from reception and used the outside door for access. There were several loose and potentially hazardous paving stones outside the door and they need to be mended before somebody has an accident. The speedbumps are very unforgiving…Could they be at more of a graded angle?

We stayed at the hotel to attend an event hosted by them. The room was a double twin and was really well laid out. It was a little cool and we could not get the heating to work despite following the instructions. The food was extremely expensive the the restaurant and it was exceptionally noisy in there perhaps down to the wooden floor - no carpet to cushion the noise - the restaurant was very busy but staff coped well, were very professional, pleasant and warm. The leisure area was mixed - the gym was small but well equipped and the pool area had a jacuzzi (which was closed without a sign explaining that/why), a sauna and steam room. The pool itself was quite large and had character but needs some TLC and some money spending on the area. It looked unloved and past its best.

The location is brilliant for a little escape out of the ordinary and we enjoyed our stay very much. The facilities offer a state of the art gym and a very nice spa and swimming area which we enjoyed thoroughly during the time that it wasn't accessible for children. We were positively surprised by the staff members of the gym and the spa facility As they were very knowledgeable and meticulous (For example when in the sauna a young lady popped in every now and again to cheque that patrons were feeling good and that the room was operated properly). We had treatments booked with our stay and we enjoyed them very much! The room was really nice although it was quite a walk from the main building reception area which was not convenient.

The room was very clean however communal spaces where a little let go. There were stains on furniture especially in the restaurant bar area where the armchairs have stains from condiments or God knows what else. We had breakfast in the morning and on the floor next to our table there were chips which must have been left there from the previous night's dinner service as there was no chips in the buffet. We chose a table next to the window which was cleared from the previous person using it however there were still bread crumbs on it and even when we sat the staff saw us but did not come to clear the table so we ended up wiping it down ourselves with napkins.

Beds are comfortable and big. The ambiance in the restaurant and in the bar are nice. Unfortunately, my husband was not able to play golf as it was raining and was so cold. Nevertheless, we enjoyed our relaxing stay. We will still come back some other time.

There was no scrambled egg in the buffet. I have requested on our day two of breakfast for a scrambled egg and I was told by the Staff that it would take around 15 minutes, in which I agreed to wait for it. But the scrambled egg was not served at all. I did not make a fuzz anymore in asking and following it up. There was no small table in the room, although there was a big comfy chair. But overall, our stay was good.

The room was clean with a fantastic view of the golf course, and the bathroom was clean and well presented. The staff were friendly and very accommodating. Loved the coffee machine in the room. Breakfast was good with lots of options and good coffee.

The only issue we had was in the middle of the night the refrigerator made a annoying noise, however after switching it off at the wall, peace again, and turned it back on in the ,morning. I think because the location is so peaceful and quiet, the noise seemed so much louder. Not a serious issue just an annoying noise during the night.

The hotel is in beautiful grounds and if golf is your thing then it’s even better. My partner and I don’t play golf but we love going to the gym, playing squash and relaxing in the evening having a tasty meal and a drink, all of which are within this lovely hotel. This is our second stay in 3 months and hoping to go back again soon.

Although we loved staying here, once checked in and went to our room we found it so cold. They must have the heating turned off but as a woman of a certain age it wasn’t such an issue anyway. We turned the heating on and it warmed up fairly quick and was able to turn it off before going to sleep.
