The staff were excellent. So knowledgeable and helpful. Delicious food, well served. Liked the area, and it is well positioned for getting around.

The place was a bit tired and needed a bit of an update. We were in Room 12, which could have benefitted from a few changes. Two single beds pushed together are not as comfortable as a double bed. The wardrobe door wouldn't fully open due to lack of space. For safety, the shower needed a mat. I slipped on the slippery base, which would not have happened if there was a mat. The hot water took ages to come through. We thought it wasn't working, and a note to let us know about it would have helped. Very disappointed with the black mould around the pains of glass in the windows. Only small things, but would have improved the stay.

We chose this hotel mainly for the location as we were filming nearby, Although a little tired the room was adequate and the bed was very comfortable. The staff were very pleasant. This is obviously a very popular place too right by the River Trent and they appeared to be very busy most of the time

The food was 'OK' overall. The shower in the room needed to be updated as the water temperature was not good-there was a good supply of hot water to the sink in the bathroom though. The car park in front of the hotel had quite a few nasty pot holes.

The location by the river is excellent and the dining/drinking area both inside and outside is good. The staff are helpful, friendly and fairly competent. The general character of the hotel is pleasant.

The room was too hot and the ventilation or the capability to cool the room wasn't sufficient on a summer's day/night. The general quality of bathroom fittings, room furniture, bed, décor, style, towels, linen, pillows, etc needs to improve significantly.

Room basic but totally satisfactory; excellent shower! Breakfast cooked to order and pleasant service. Remote and peaceful village/riverside location but perfect for all major roads in the area. I would definitely recommend this hotel/inn,

No fresh coffee at breakfast! On arrival there had been a mess up between Booking.com & Marstons... it was only because a very diligent member of staff managed to work rooms out that I was actually able to get my booking! Make a positive check with the hotel staff before travelling!

The location is very picturesque, not too far from all that Nottingham has to offer

It is quite a popular dining place for locals and guests, which is spoiled by the staff not clearing tables quick enough, we actually had to clear our own table as we had met friends and dined as a group of four and there was quite a bit of crockery left on the table when finished

The staff were very friendly. The breakfast was good. The Unicorn is comfortable, clean and convenient. The bathroom was fine with a powerful shower.

There were no bedside lights in our room, and it would have helped to have a bedside table or shelf on both sides of the bed. Ideally, a usb point would be an improvement, although there was a standard socket available.

The location. The staff. The menus. The draught Marston's beer. The prices.

Irregularity of the heating and hot water. Excellent bed but still the old pine furniture of years ago. Noise from heating and ventilation systems.

A lovely quirky hotel, the rooms were clean, the beds comfortable. It’s in a beautiful quiet location. We had dinner and breakfast, and enjoyed both. All the staff were wonderful and very helpful. Free parking. I would not hesitate to visit again.

The cups in the room were too small. :-)

the food was very good but with regard to the main evening meal could have been a little bit more varied

the shower in the room was not too good as the shower was very difficult to turn on and of. several times we had to leave the water running because we could not turn it off.

A wonderful relaxing hotel to stay in mainly due to All of the Staff who have been extremely busy but nothing was a problem thank you for making us feel so comfortable. And a massive thank you to amazing Amy who was an absolute diamond. See you soon. Richard and Kelly Room 4 x
