We stayed overnight before the funeral of our mum. Had an excellent night’s sleep. The room was large, comfortable with an amazingly large bathroom . Breakfast was self service and had enough choice for everyone . We held the Reception/ wake at The Maypole. Food was excellent , good value . Only problem we had was coffee/ tea was self- service and this didn’t work very well. Location was close to crematorium so very convenient. Wellow village interesting with a tall maypole opposite on the green. Staff were extremely friendly, helpful and dutifully respectful. A lovely fitting tribute to our dear Mum . x

We liked it was on one level, the parking was so easy outside our room like a motel. The breakfast was easy to get for oneself , but help was on hand too. The choice was excellent. The village was beautiful & well cared for, the Maypole on the green was being painted. The church village hall was open & we could have had a tour but we were moving on to Norfolk. The venue was so near to the Pumping house in Bolton the reason we were visiting. All in all a very pleasurable experience.

Room was spacious overall, clean and cosy. Separate bath and shower was nice and they were both sparkling clean. Heating was on when I stayed and could be controlled via the dial on the radiator and warmed up the room nicely. Staff were friendly and helpful.
If you returned to the hotel late you had to let yourself in via the key safe (no staff overnight) which I was told how to use. When I did need to use this on one of the evenings I returned to find the key safe open and the front door of the hotel unlocked, which me me feel really insecure. Having said this, it must have been one of the other guests that had done this so I'm not sure how you would prevent it.

Location for what we wanted ideal. Staff very friendly. Liked buffet concept for breakfast. Eg. Beans in microwaveable cartons, eggs, sausage. Croissants, cheese, fruit. Cereal, waffles in packet. Less wastage. Tea tray in room good.
It's not what we didn't like- it's what could be improved. Certain areas could do with abit of TLC. eg. Flashing light in dining room - air conditioning unit hanging off wall in dining room. No mirror in bedroom. These things would not put us off going back.

Lovely bar area, helpful, friendly staff. The village is very pretty. The breakfast setup was great. Lots of choice, and some nice little extras
The staircase up to the room was in need of a lick of paint, and the carpet was a bit worn, so it made us feel a little worried about the room. The room was cosy with a.lovely big bathroom. They both needed a few bits of paint touching up in places. There was plenty of hot water in the shower, we didn't use the bath, but it looked great.

Great stop over, lovely little village. Food was fantastic in evening, didn’t expect the steak and chips to be that good. My wife had lovely mushroom lasagna.
You can’t help the other guests so some noise at night from next door as they were from a wedding and some had a few drinks! My only main complaint was lights outside each unit lit up the inside as no curtain on the door. Room was really warm (unusual UK summer) not enough pillows and no lid on toilet. Little things that can be made.

On the day I checked-in we had a "burger night" with a very good choice of beef, pork, chicken and fish burgers. All the staff were great and special thanks to the chef. Great deal 2 for £15 worked out well. Nice, quiet outside area where you can chill out. Enjoyed continental breakfast the next morning, along with a juice. The room was very spacious, bed felt comfortable and as a result I had a lovely night. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who plans a visit in the area. This was my 2nd stay and I will 100% come back, the next time I am down in Nottinghamshire.
I have nothing to report on this matter, simply enjoyed my stay there and really, I could not think of anything that did not seem right. All I can say is to try the place and get the feel of it. You will 100% enjoy it.

It was a lovely mix of old and new. Facilities were fine for my needs, I didn’t enquire about WiFi and it wasn’t immediately obvious but phone signal was fine Room was very spacious with lovely velux windows, although I did regret leaving them open when rain woke me up! I ate in the resteraunt and the stark night was lovely. Amazing home made chips. Breakfast was pitched as continental but there were options of eggs and sausage as well
No complaints.

We stayed here to attend a family funeral for 2 night. In room 5. Clean and spacious with all we needed. (Kettle, coffee, tee etc) loved having a bath. Bed very comfortable and slept great.Didn't eat at the property, only breakfast (meals looked good though) as we were meeting up with family. Continental breakfast was great 👍 with lots of extras, which we were surprised about as normally its a cooked breakfast when we stay somewhere, but Continental was fab.
No fault of this hotel but getting a taxi in this area was horrendous, tried 6 taxi numbers with no joy. Staff at hotel finally got one booked for us to arrive at 2pm, 2.40pm and no taxi appeared. We were going to a funeral and panicked as we would have been late. Thankfully a lovely young man from the funeral came for us. Thank the lord 🙏 Be aware of this when you stay and be organised before you go. As I said, no reflection on the hotel .

Nice spacious room and bathroom with comfy bed and decent shower. Motel style arrangement off the carpark won't be for everyone but convenient for returning late from a nearby event. OK buffet breakfast - best tomato sauce sachets I have encountered anywhere, great for the sausages. Picturesque green opposite with the eponymous pole.
Not much. Slight whiff in the bathroom. The filter coffee at breakfast was a bit feeble.
