We stayed overnight before the funeral of our mum. Had an excellent night’s sleep. The room was large, comfortable with an amazingly large bathroom . Breakfast was self service and had enough choice for everyone . We held the Reception/ wake at The Maypole. Food was excellent , good value . Only problem we had was coffee/ tea was self- service and this didn’t work very well. Location was close to crematorium so very convenient. Wellow village interesting with a tall maypole opposite on the green. Staff were extremely friendly, helpful and dutifully respectful. A lovely fitting tribute to our dear Mum . x

Room was spacious overall, clean and cosy. Separate bath and shower was nice and they were both sparkling clean. Heating was on when I stayed and could be controlled via the dial on the radiator and warmed up the room nicely. Staff were friendly and helpful.
If you returned to the hotel late you had to let yourself in via the key safe (no staff overnight) which I was told how to use. When I did need to use this on one of the evenings I returned to find the key safe open and the front door of the hotel unlocked, which me me feel really insecure. Having said this, it must have been one of the other guests that had done this so I'm not sure how you would prevent it.

Location for what we wanted ideal. Staff very friendly. Liked buffet concept for breakfast. Eg. Beans in microwaveable cartons, eggs, sausage. Croissants, cheese, fruit. Cereal, waffles in packet. Less wastage. Tea tray in room good.
It's not what we didn't like- it's what could be improved. Certain areas could do with abit of TLC. eg. Flashing light in dining room - air conditioning unit hanging off wall in dining room. No mirror in bedroom. These things would not put us off going back.

Great stop over, lovely little village. Food was fantastic in evening, didn’t expect the steak and chips to be that good. My wife had lovely mushroom lasagna.
You can’t help the other guests so some noise at night from next door as they were from a wedding and some had a few drinks! My only main complaint was lights outside each unit lit up the inside as no curtain on the door. Room was really warm (unusual UK summer) not enough pillows and no lid on toilet. Little things that can be made.

On the day I checked-in we had a "burger night" with a very good choice of beef, pork, chicken and fish burgers. All the staff were great and special thanks to the chef. Great deal 2 for £15 worked out well. Nice, quiet outside area where you can chill out. Enjoyed continental breakfast the next morning, along with a juice. The room was very spacious, bed felt comfortable and as a result I had a lovely night. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who plans a visit in the area. This was my 2nd stay and I will 100% come back, the next time I am down in Nottinghamshire.
I have nothing to report on this matter, simply enjoyed my stay there and really, I could not think of anything that did not seem right. All I can say is to try the place and get the feel of it. You will 100% enjoy it.

We stayed here to attend a family funeral for 2 night. In room 5. Clean and spacious with all we needed. (Kettle, coffee, tee etc) loved having a bath. Bed very comfortable and slept great.Didn't eat at the property, only breakfast (meals looked good though) as we were meeting up with family. Continental breakfast was great 👍 with lots of extras, which we were surprised about as normally its a cooked breakfast when we stay somewhere, but Continental was fab.
No fault of this hotel but getting a taxi in this area was horrendous, tried 6 taxi numbers with no joy. Staff at hotel finally got one booked for us to arrive at 2pm, 2.40pm and no taxi appeared. We were going to a funeral and panicked as we would have been late. Thankfully a lovely young man from the funeral came for us. Thank the lord 🙏 Be aware of this when you stay and be organised before you go. As I said, no reflection on the hotel .

Comfortable room and bed. On site restaurant was excellent. We had a number of very tasty, well cooked meals which were very good value for money. Friendly staff. Good position to visit Lincoln, Derby and Nottingham. Very clean accommodation.
We were given an accessible room (not at our request) but unfortunately could clearly hear the conversations of the people in next door room through the interconnecting door. Not keen on the wetroom.

Set in a lovely village perfect for where we wanted to be. Room was clean, bed comfortable, lovely shower. Good range of food for continental breakfast we enjoyed our stay, thanks……
The only thing was it was very warm in the room due to the unseasonably warm weather for end April with only a fan for cooling down. I imagine it could be unbearable in the warm summer nights….

Good location, plenty of parking. Lovely room comfortable beds and big shower. Requested a dog friendly room so access was immediately from the car park which was ideal. Breakfast was continental but a good choice, cereals, cheese, fresh fruit, yogurts, bread and pastries. Tea/coffee, orange juice etc The staff were all very friendly and helpful
My only negative if I had to be picky would be the food choice for allergies. It would have been to have some gluten free pastries.

Staff were very welcoming to us and our dog. We stayed in one of the outside rooms and were able to park right outside. The room was really clean and smelled fresh, and had everything we needed. We ate in the bar in the evening - good choice and big portions! Lovely atmosphere and friendly locals made us feel very comfortable, and our dog got some fussing too! Would definitely stay here again.
