Ideally located next to the canal as we were doing the Cuckoo Way Walk. The rooms section (separate) to the public house/bar/restaurant was slightly dated but offered a good clean bed, and a clean powerfully shower. Good value for a one night stay. Where the accommodation stars is in the pub/restaurant where the meals are absolutely delicious and you are hosted by the most pleasant and professional staff. The staff really are a credit to the business. Thank you for the warm welcome and very efficient friendly service.

The room was as we expected. The website said check in was 00.00 to 00.00 when we got there we were told it's 15.00 onward but they said it was ok we could check in. The room which was a twin was a bit on the small side but beds were lovely and comfortable. There was tea making facilities. My son had a double room and his was more spacious. When we got home we realised my granddaughter had left her box with jewellery behind in the room but when I contacted the hosts they were more than happy to post it out to us. We didn't go into the adjoining pub as we were in Retford for a wedding so we just needed accommodation. Would we stay there again? More than likely.

It's a little bit off the beaten track

The staff, food, location, and peace and quiet was first class. The room was a good size for a twin, with hot drink making facilities and a small fridge in the room. Great price for a weekend stay too.

The room is a little tired, and the ensn-suite needs a little attention to the finishing edges, but it was a good size

The pub is located alongside a canal, great to sit and have a drink in the large garden or walking the dog along the canal. The food we had was very good quality and the desert was to die for, The room was clean and tidy and plenty of parking close to the room. The hosts were fantastic and couldn't do enough for their guests, a really good atmosphere in the bar, talking to the locals and the dogs are allowed anywhere in the pub, would definitely return.

Overall the property was welcoming comfortable and ideal for us. It is pet friendly and has easy access with car parked outside room. The staff were very friendly and looked after us. We had dinner in the Inn and the food was delicious . The rate was very reasonable for the service provided.

We were surprised that on arrival the additional fee for having a pet was £25. It is not advertised as this and having stayed in many hotels throughout Europe on driving to Scotland , found the average charge to be between £5 and £12. The owner did reduce it to £15 but even this is excessive for a small animal that slept in her own bed and caused no additional cleaning. We are hoteliers and know that children can be more problematic than animals in terms of cleanliness. Overall this is not a complaint as such, because the room rate was more than reasonable...just something the owner should consider. We would not hesitate to stay again !

Restaurant and pub very good with generous portions of food. Staff very friendly. Good value for money. Nice quiet location.

Room a little basic. No chairs just the bed to sit on. There was a fridge (very helpful) but it was not connected (not so helpful)! OK for one night but not an extended stay.

There was no breakfast on offer, but we appreciated the tea and coffee in the bedroom. A decaff option needed to be requested. Beds were warm and comfortable. Hot shower was fine. Heating was effective. Neighbourhood was quiet.

The cupboard blocked access to half the wardrobe, as well as the heater. It could have been better placed. A chair would have been nice.

Charming accommodative staff, good food, excellent value for money. Very relaxed atmosphere for family group. Rooms are in old stable block, so away from main pub area . Beautiful view over the canal, especially at sunset.

Only one minor complaint, room 1 backed onto bin area, no smell, bins hidden from sight, but quite a few flies. A simple fly screen on windows would fix problem.

Super friendly staff couldn’t do enough for you. Rooms could do with a little update but for the money absolutely nothing to moan about.

Nothing it was lovely but if not driving no taxis around and a big walk on country lanes to next village so out of the way but very peaceful but that’s the village not really the pub.

Very Good place for peace and quiet, easy to get to either by car or along the side of the canal on foot. Very comfortable beds.

Luckily I had instructions via a message what room to go to, and how to get the key. I was worried when I saw all the lights off at the pub and wasn't sure where to go.
