The staff were really friendly and helpful, I felt very welcome and the lady who worked in the kitchen went the extra mile to make me a sandwich as I had to leave just before the breakfast started. The room was comfortable and cosy, there was heating and extra heaters in case you felt cold. Towels and small bathroom products were provided, a TV and a selection of hot drinks you can prepare in the room. Perfect for an overnight stay for a test I had in the city. There is a bar and pool downstairs for if you are feeling social or just want to pass the time.

There was no place to hang clothes or store clothes, as I was only staying one night this was not a big problem and there was everything else available that I needed. Very minor thing. Maybe the bigger rooms have this facility. If you are a light sleeper it might be worth bearing in mind that there is a functioning pub downstairs.

Staff were extremely friendly. Quickly checked in and shown where our room was and where to go if pub was closed. Room was very spacious with plenty of storage. Provided with tea, coffee, hot chocolate and milk and a kettle. Adorable little shampoo and conditioners plus wee biscuits on the bed. Soft towels for both of us. Food was absolutely delicious, cooked to order so hot and cooked amazingly. There was a pub quiz on so a little noisy but there were signs up so we knew ahead of time and it wasn't on too late. Bathroom was clean and well kept

Think the only thing I can think of was the bed was a little uncomfortable but that's more of a preference because I like a firm matress

It’s what I expected being a pub with friendly staff and locals

There wasn’t and evening meal on a Monday but plenty of options locally and they let me use the restaurant for my takeaway.

The staff were all very lovely, one lad took my case up to my room and one of the cleaners carried it down. The bedding was immaculate and the pillows smelt fresh unlike some hotels where you can smell that they’ve been used a lot.

Unfortunately, the Wheatley needs quite a bit of money spending on it to bring it up to scratch. The carpet on the stairs and bedroom hallway was filthy. It is in desperate need of a good clean. The sofa in my room had stains on it which meant I didn’t want to sit on it. The bathroom needs a complete overhaul with the porcelain H from the hot tap falling off all the time and the lino not being fitted, just laid down. No light above the shower so it was a bit dark and dingy.

Although my husband and son enjoyed their stay I am a bit disappointed. When I spoke to a lady regarding the room only being a twin and therefore having no ensuite, also my husband not being able to encounter a lot of stairs, she said she was out but on her return she would upgrade to a family room for extra £5 and arranged payment upon arrival. Also said she would try to secure one with few stairs. This was fantastic. But upon their arrival they were given a twin room on the top floor, which was a bit disappointing. Pleased they only stayed for one night as the stairs crippled my husband. But must say the hotel along with the food was spot on, would stay again.

We were assigned room 5 and I can honestly say that it was a very large room with great facilities, and the bed was super comfortable. Both my wife and I had a great night's sleep and we cannot fault the attentive staff, if you decide to stay ere, I don't think you would be disappointed in view of the tariffs charged, all in all great value for money!

Large room which was clean and confortable bed. Toiletries and tea/coffee making facilities. Friendly staff.

Was noisy and could hear doors opening and shutting at night and then early in morning. Other hotel customers talking loudly outside room woke me up at night and in morning.

The breakfast was great, hot and tasty. Plenty of TV's and great if you love sport, the location was right near the centre, easy to go anywhere. They are open to the public when serving breakfast and can get busy.

The coffee at breakfast was instant and not ground/bean, picky I know but I like my coffee.

Location, we attended an event in Sandall Park. It was a good price for a large room for 3 people

Whilst the room and bedding were clean the decor is a bit tired. The kettle was on the floor as lead didn't reach the top of the chest of drawers and due to uneven floors (old building and we were right at the top) it kept switching on and off. It did work though.

The staff were lovely and the meals were very good. We had plenty of towels and free shower gel etc and the beds were comfortable.

The staircase could do with painting and the ceiling on the stairwell had signs of a possible leak but there was scaffolding up so possibly they are starting from the top down to spruce it up.
