Being park side was good. Didn’t realise tapirs were nocturnal! Enjoyed watching them and the maned wolves from the room. Staff communication was good via booking.com as I asked for a late checkout and it was all sorted when I got there. The room is spacious and comfortable.

Have been to the bistro and the evolution restaurant and I wouldn’t recommend either of these. Service was slow in both, bit better in the bistro. Toilet felt kind of loose in the room. Tv (although not an essential) was a bit slow and glitchy. But I love the interface and last time it worked a lot better.

It's in a great location and there's many extras that other hotels don't think of. The little things like a dim light in the bathroom so you don't have to use the big bright lights at night. there was a great selection of biscuits, tea, coffee and hot chocolate. We found there seemed to be a big American influence on the whole place with the thought that has gone into the hotel and restaurants. The evolution restaurant is very Disney like. it's great fun and the food was delicious. The wilds restaurant again the food was lovely. We had breakfast there every morning except one. The food is was good quality and at a reasonable price. The one morning we tried a different local cafe showed us the difference in quality of ingredients and we paid the same as we did at the hotel so we stayed in the hotel for breakfast after that. The food on the main menu was delicious and the prices were the same as other restaurant in the area so if you don't feel like venturing out it won't break the bank to eat there. The bed and pillows were very comfortable and soft, that is a big thing for me as usually I don't find hotel beds comfortable.

The walk from the carpark to the actual hotel is a bit of a distance. My husband clocked it at about a quarter of a mile each way with I bit of a hill to the path. Which isn't a lot if you are able bodied without lots of luggage (though in reception they have trollies for your luggage). It was difficult for me as i struggled walking after a bad fall. The bedside table although they look great and fit in well with the room, we found them a little impractical.

Housekeeping staff were amazing! I asked for more biscuits because the kids had eaten the ones provided and when they put more in the room, they also made the beds up properly, gave us more hot chocolate and plenty of biscuits! They also put one of our love heart bath bombs in the middle of the bed and we're really very pleased and it was lovely to come back to our room after a fun filled day. So thank you

Only thing I can find fault with is that there's no rug/doormat when you get the room, especially with muddy feet, so you traipse mud into the room especially with wooden floors

The location was absolutely perfect more going on in the area than you think plenty of restaurants and coffee shops so different and quirky we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and plan to return but we want to stay in a room overlooking wildlife park next time lived everything about it never stayed in a hotel next to a zoo/wildlife park but will again also discounted tickets to the wildlife park extra bonus went in wilds cafe bistro for evening meal and breakfast both excellent and excellent value for money

We was in Room 103 standard King Room it only had one stool it has ample room to fit 2 armchairs when we handed our keys back in and she asked if we enjoyed our stay I said yes but just that small niggle she said if you stay here again and you let us know you want a couple of armchairs we can do that for you so to me that is a problem rectified for the future and we will definitely be returning

Room size brilliant, lovely area, loved the park (except the snow!). Everywhere was clean and lovely. Loved the desk/vanity mirror. Loved that the tv had my name on and I could stream from my phone to the tv. WiFi is brilliant too. Just outside the hotel are a number of independent shops and places to eat.

Being a woman of a certain age, a chair would be more beneficial than a beanbag to sit on and I would have loved a bath in the room, but I understand that they have suites with baths in. Kids may love the evolution restaurant, but for a more grown up feel, go to the bistro. (The restaurant is good, it’s just very aimed at kids and I am an adult)

We had a great time during our stay at Hex hotel. The staff was lovely and helpful. Special thanks to the young lad working at the hotel (we saw him hoovering and taking laundry out) helping us with directions . We stayed at a family room, just one unit. The room was nice and clean with all the essentials. Our little one loved the bean bag chair which was a nice touch. Breakfast was served at the Wilds Café Bistro, great ambience. Lots of small shops and cafes around. The whole place is really welcoming. We will definitely come back 😊

The only thing we didn't like was the reception being away from the main building.

Lovely staff welcoming and helpful.,comfortable bed (jammie dodgers nice touch)shower lovely ,very clean . Nicely stocked with toiletries. Very well thought out rooms ,everything you could need.iron ironing board,hairdryer,safe, We enjoyed our stay very comfortable.

Circular rug was slippy on polished floor almost fell . Heating couldn't be turned any lower than 19 degrees and no option to turn heating off and unable to stop it coming on in the morning ,windows non opening for fresh air .this however would not stop us staying again as on checkout we mentioned this and were told fans are available.

the room was lovely and comfortable, the breakfast was amazing. the staff at the breakfast venue were lovely.

This place is fine if you can walk.. if not bring a wheelchair as it is a longways from the disabled parking. The hotel corridors are quite long also. The reception staff were unhelpful as they could have told me I could borrow a wheelchair from the park. They could see the state of my 92 year old father but were very unconcerned and were looking at each other as much as to say ' here we go'. I do think that this should be explained in the write up of the hotel. Just to advise the view of the park is of the painted dogs so if you are thinking anything better don't. I did like it though. lovely laying in bed watching them.

The room was spacious and fully equipped with everything we needed, the shower was excellent. Very powerful and hot which is hard to find in a hotel. Breakfast was delicious, buffet style with hot and continental options. We loved it so much we’d re booked to come back in August Room was also really quiet from outside noise which was impressive given all the younger guests and animals being so close Very impressed and wouldn’t stay anywhere else if we were travelling to Doncaster, even if we weren’t visiting the wildlife park this hotel would be a go too

The stay was fantastic! This is now the 2nd time staying at the Hex and both times exceeded expectations! Love the size of room, the facilities provided in the room (nice coffee bags not cheap coffee!) Bonus is that you can purchase a small bottle of fresh filtered milk from the vending machine on the first floor. If you are staying for a celebration rooms come with an ice bucket and there is also an ice dispenser in the Kitchenette on the first floor which also has a microwave! Bathroom and showers are lovely.

Breakfast can be hit and miss - it is a buffet style breakfast. The first time we stayed it was lovely and hot and very tasty. This time it was colder and a little bland - not sure if the produce has changed …… However, it was still edible and a good way to start the days ready for the long walk around the park!
