The hotel is in a perfect location and the size of the junior suite was really good. The food was very good. Parking was really good also. The cleaners were exceptional and we really appreciate the clean towels when requested.

The staff could be a little more welcoming. Try to get to know the guests who were there for a long stay like ourselves. Going to breakfast in a morning was a bit frustrating as they saw us most mornings but continued to explain the menu to us. We were left to be shown to a table a couple of mornings while staff chatted to each other! Some staff on reception would look up but not say good morning or good evening, just a little too much on the ignoring side.

The size of the room was very good, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was excellent. The breakfast was good too.

The air conditioning in the room came on as soon as you put your key card in, and the temperature didn't adjust when we tried to put it up a couple of degrees. The smoking area outside the bar was far too small, and therefore overcrowded. It was a sunny afternoon and there were 23 people trying to use the tables and chairs allocated in the smoking area, and just 2 people using the extensive no smoking area.

The rooms were gorgeous, the bed super comfy. Everyone helpful and friendly. Hotel is of a lovely standard. Good size car park, very nice overall setting/gardens.

Breakfast was not to standard in that we had pre-booked a table for eight for us and our friends and had a short wait for this (appreciate it was a busy time and hour had changed which may also have affected demand for tables). The buffet ran out of fried eggs and although our guests were told to wait a couple of mins and they would be out, they gave up, as the rest of their breakfast literally would have been cold by the time the eggs actually surfaced. Juice also ran out, as did white bread for the toast (again, gave up waiting). One of our guests asked for a pot of hot water since she does not drink tea or coffee. This arrived in a teapot, so the water was murky and light tea coloured. I had to ask for this to be changed. Overall a disappointing end to a very nice stay.

The staff were very friendly, polite and professional. Our room was huge. It was well presented and clean. We had the option to not have turndown service and offered a free drink voucher for doing so, which shows they care about the environment. We had an evening meal in the restaurant which was lovely. The food was delicious, reasonably priced, and we didn't have to wait too long for our meals to arrive. The breakfast was equally lovely.

The only negative points were that the hair and body wash bottle in our shower was empty. Luckily my husband had brought some shower gel with him so I used this. I was also hoping to make use of the bath during our stay, but there was no bath soak/salts to use.

Beautiful location, Beautiful building. Very large rooms and bathroom. Restaurant facilities excellent. Great breakfast. Great staff.

On this visit we happened to be very close to a big suite (275) and it sounded like an all female celebration. The noise from the celebrations (it sounded like a great party) went on after midnight. Didn't want to be a party pooper so didn't want to raise the issue with reception. We eventually got to sleep. A minor issue but we ended up a bit tired that morning. A shame but not the end of the world. We still love the hotel, would just like a quiter room next time lol .

What an amazing hotel. Luxury throughout the expansive property. The plentiful staff were impeccable and a credit to BW. The room (279) was absolutely amazing with the best comfortable hotel bed ever. The food was superb, cooked to order, and delicious. Every aspect of this hotel was faultless, from cleanliness, rooms, a lovely quiet sleep, and every aspect of all the staff was delightful and genuinely friendly. Nice gardens to stroll around for a lovely little break for an hour. Lovely gifts at fab prices. The artwork and quality fixtures, fittings, and comfortable common areas to sit and relax were each different and various throughout the complex. Lots of original features. Thanks to all for a wonderful stay.

We couldn't stay longer

The staff couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. Check in was swift and we were made to feel very welcome. The restaurant staff during breakfast went above and beyond, and the service we received was amazing. .The breakfast was really good.....lots of choice and fresh produce. Our bedroom was huge, the bed really comfortable, and the bedroom and bathroom were spotless. Ample free parking on site too.

Just as a comment rather than a negative......from a personal point of view, a rug in the bedroom would be nice on the wooden floor just to make the floor a bit less stark......but in no way did it spoil our stay.

Beautiful property, immaculate gardens, staff excellent and the food was excellent good value for money good choice and gluten free options that were well marked on the menus and the breakfast hot plates. Gluten free cereal also available. When a problem occurred as explained on the negatives staff were very quick to respond and resolve.

Everything about the property under the control of the staff was excellent. I ended up with a very large room that was underneath a nearby 'apartment suite' I understand that this was a Saturday stay and that a party with the occupants was being held in that suite. The noise continued into the early hours of the morning. On complaining to the staff at 01.45 they swiftly moved me to a beautiful room in a very quiet location. My advice if you are not at the location as party guests is to ensure that your room is not in the close proximity of an apartment suite that has been booked for a celebration.

For the majority of the staff we experienced, they were friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and very spacious. The drinks available at the bar were suited to our likes (but a tad expensive). Breakfast was delicious, hot and freshly served.

The staff at the evening wine tasting event were not as friendly; their level of service during the meal was abrupt, and they tried to clear away drinks that we'd not finished! There wasn't a fridge in the room and as the rooms were quite warm, we didn't have a convenient way to cool them. Also the tea and coffee was nothing special, to say we'd paid for a suite - I'd have expected upgraded facilities, possibly a coffee machine, which other hotels do as standard.

I attended my sister's 25th wedding anniversary party in the evening. Breakfast was beautiful, everything I wanted was there and more and value for money. Our room was the largest room I have ever slept in in terms of hotel room. Shower and bathroom immaculate with clean towels.

Something was missing was a flip flop to go with the bathrobes and a fridge. I know it's an old building, maybe a little upgrade to the furniture will do. Sign post properly, it took us a while before we could see the name of the hotel even though my GPS brought us there.
