The breakfast was very good and the service at breakfast was very friendly. Our room was very spacious and we liked the traditional decor. There are lots of areas to sit and have a drink and relax.

A few touches in the bedroom - considering how spacious our room was (no. 1) the wardrobe was tiny and could only hold about four items of clothing. Also a few irritating things in the bathroom - towels could only be hung quite a way from the sink, and there was nowhere to put shower gel etc in inside the brank new shower cubicle.

Breakfast and evening meals were very good. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. The hotel was ideally situated for our onward travel to Norfolk. It felt secluded and peaceful, yet was only minutes away from the major roads. We loved our session in the adjacent spa which is one of the nicest I have visited and was the reason for choosing Ye Olde Bell Hotel and Spa for our stopover.

I very much enjoyed my stay here. And it clearly is a very popular hotel as there were at least four functions being held there that weekend (wedding, Rolls Royce enthusiast meeting, 40th birthday party, Mo-Town dance event...) and so the hotel was extremely busy. This meant that none of the common areas were available to us (they were simply filled with the attendees of the events). But, despite being stretched to the limit, it all ran smoothly; check-in was easy, we were seated for meals quickly, all the food was great, everything was kept clean and our room was comfortable and quiet. So well done to all the hard working staff. Also, the Spa was an excellent experience that I would definitely do again.

On arrival, we were assigned to a room that I felt was lower than the room category that I had booked; this was rectified immediately (the receptionist explained that they had a lot of events on that weekend and wanted to give us a quiet room). Also, I had booked the main restaurant for both nights, but was seated in the bistro/bar area on the second night. Julie, the maitre 'd, recognised that a quiet meal meant a lot to me that night, and made it happen, despite clearly having so much work to do that evening. I very much appreciated this. So these two things were the result of the hotel being so busy, but I can tell that the reason that it was so busy is because they are doing the work of hospitality so well.

Large traditional hotel with well kept grounds. Good size bedroom and bathroom, comfy bed, good coffee and tea making facilities in the room. Lovely hot shower. We were there for a wedding and it made a perfect venue with great indoor and outdoor space.

The bedroom window had a pane of glass missing and needs fixing. The sealant in the shower was mouldy and needs replacing. Drinks were expensive.

The food was excellent, both dinner and breakfast were amazing. My en suite bathroom was very nice and extremely clean. All the staff I encountered were very friendly and helpful.

The decor particularly going up the stairs was tired. The TV in my room didn’t work. As the shower is over a bath the provision of a grab rail would have made showering feel much more safe ( I have several replaced joints and my balance could be better)

Very impressed with everything. Our son is getting married there next year so we went to have a nosey - I was also off to London the following day with my future daughter in law wedding dress shopping! Lovely room and the food was even better 😀

I booked a room on the ground floor and was given a room in a single storey building. I could park my car close by. The bathroom had a bath and shower and my bed was comfortable. The seafood and cheese sharing plates were of a high standard. I would recommend this Hotel.

The staff - especially the manager of the restaurant were exceptional. One of the nicest hotels where you just get a good feel about the place Food was very good, bed was comfy and I loved the old look about the place

Beautiful hotel and building and the room was stunning - it really exceeded my expectations. Breakfast was lovely and the building grounds were also beautiful- the room was lovely and clean and the condiments in the room were top quality. Lovely quiets rooms and the bathroom and bath is just stunning. Would stay here again and recommend!

the disappointing part was arriving at 5.30pm on the 6th june, only to be told the spa was shutting at 6.00pm, and it didnt open on the Tuesday(following day). the hotel is advertised as a spa hotel, and was looking forward to chilling after a 400 miles drive, and it was the reason i booked, so to say its a spa hotel is slightly misleading.
