Room 6 was alone at the back of the building and we're told not many trains pass late on a Saturday night on the line close by, we didn't hear anything, it was quiet and very comfortable in the room. Cold weather prevented anyone making noise in the pub garden or car park, so again, peaceful location. Lovely room and ensuite shower room. Twin beds very comfortable. Shower easy to use and accessible by small step.

Couple of small points to be aware of: Hotel reception is in the pub, punters if they weren't so drunk would be able to hear all your business, though writing down details helped very much. Can't be helped I guess, it a consequence of arriving late, nearly 10pm. In the morning, couldn't immediately find the cleaner to hand the key in.

The location was great for us as we had an event about 15 minute drive away. We were shown to our room which was a nice touch. Staff went above and beyond to help us with our room issues. We ended up eating dinner here and it was really very good. I had Steak and Ale Pie with (great!) hand cut chips and the gravy was unctuous and full of flavor. My partner had a pizza and a side of truffle oil hand cuts chips and he thoroughly enjoyed them. Our room was clean (with lovely complementary Yorkshire tea) and well maintained by cleaning staff, and all the staff were great.

Unfortunately there had been a mix up with our room. I had ordered a double deluxe through Booking.com but when we got there it was a twin single room. It was fully booked so no chance of moving rooms. The beds were a little saggy in the middle, but ok for just one night. Though staff were very apologetic about the room mix up and the manager offered us a full refund of our room cost plus one free drink which was much appreciated.

What a great little set up, lovely rooms and generous sizes rooms. The beds are really comfy and just a really nice room. The price is super competitive, we got a fab deal with booking further in advance but even looking at the price last minute, still worth every penny! Perfect for staying when attending a family event in the area. Will be staying again. Loved it!

No negatives just suggestions really to enhance the experience …. Would be nice to be able to book direct with the hotel maybe? Booking .com is ok but have been looking at future bookings and can’t find the hotel on booking.com again! Only minor but we wanted to have a little drink / night cap on the evening when we got back from the event, and the pub was closed just before 10pm (this was a Sunday though) but shame there isn’t a way for residents to be able to grab a drink to take to the room, or even a bottle of water and a few snacks. Maybe worth a small vending machine just to get something if needed as no shops around that are open this late.

What can I say about The Station it is a very comfortable place to stay rooms are excellent and the restuarant and bar has a very good atmosphere, even has a tv and deck chairs for the warm summer nights, staff are always friendly and helpful and the food in the restaurant of very high standard, our thirs or fourth time of staying and blnever disappoints, met the owner this time and he is such a focused chap with the venue's quality at heart, great please to stay.

Nothing to dislike

We stayed after a day at the Yorkshire wildlife park. Just 10 mins in the car and much better value for money than the Hive. Lovely staff. Good prices in the bar/restaurant. Good options for gluten free food (although not clearly marked in the menu, the staff were very helpful). Nice big family room with a good bathroom. Comfy beds.

The room was very bright due to the lack of curtains and lights in the car park outside. Breakfast was supposed to be available from 8am but there was no sign of opening so we left hungry.

Excellently appointed, staff very welcoming and accommodating, perfect location with taxi services for the remote location we were visiting

Only real improvement would be to provide curtain/blinds to the door frosted glass window. We were fortunate to visit in great weather, and at 5am onwards the sun was in full glory shining through this glazing, directly onto anyone sleeping and so we ended up providing our own makeshift "curtain"

Pub area and restaurant very nicely decorated and food excellent! Service a little slow but very warm and welcoming staff! Our room was decorated well too and really cosy!

Our room was a little dusty and some cobwebs were visible! En-suite nicely decorated, but a little small! It’s a shame that breakfast is not available, as it is stated on the website that it is!

Location perfect for what I needed, had an event nearby. Trains didn't bother me, just a few but I always have earplugs when staying away. Had a meal, excellent food and portions. Manager friendly helpful and accomodating with Vegan options on a Saturday. Excellent Vegan gravy with Nut roast. Would stay again.

No breakfast available, even a pre-packed Vegan/Veggie Juice and Continental type breakfast would have been useful. No Decaff coffee in room, I did ask if they had any, but no - they didn't. 😔Easily fixed and usually there anywhere else.

Easy to find and close to the venue I was attending. Room as very nice, well decorated and modern with a lovely bathroom. Controllable heating and comfy beds.

The green fire exit sign is inside the room above the door and can’t be turned off making the room very light all night. Didn’t bother me too much but if you need darkness this is it the room for you (room 6). Also the outside door handle came off in my hand as I left! Also it was very dark by the room door - there is a light but it’s not bright enough. Moving the fire exit sign outside the room would sort that out no problem!

Gorgeous pub, beautifully furnished. Fantastic food, bit pricey for my purse but worth it for a treat. Got a cheap price on a family room, very big bed, plenty of room . Very clean and tidy. Security lock on car park, closed 12pm till 8am. Check out 11 am.

No breakfast, but the pub serves brunch from 11am.
