We loved our stay at The Lawns as it worked really well for us as a family. The family room was perfect as it had twin beds for our boys and a separate room leading off the main room with a large bed for us. This meant that our sons felt secure and we had space for ourselves. We had all we needed in the room (tea, coffee, water, glasses, cups etc.) as well as toiletries in the bathroom. We also were near to local amenities (supermarkets, restaurants) and also a short drive away from Sherwood Forest. It was a great location and also really comfortable. Tim and Stelle were fab hosts and made everything really easy for us during our stay. We'll definitely be back to stay at The Lawns again as there's loads to explore in the surrounding areas!

Our boys were a little hot in the room but there was a fan so we were able to quickly rectify this and they slept soundly. We were really happy with everything offered to us.

Lovely large room with very good shower room. Water & biscuits a nice touch. 2 kitchens with all equipment good - meant we could shop when we arrived, rather than carry food with us. Walking distance to town centre for pub/restaurants & shops for any essentials.

Entrance to car park is a bit awkward as we have a car with very limited ground clearance. Fridge went off whilst we were out for the day, had to throw away some perishables, but transferred others to fridge in adjoining kitchen.

Nearly everything! Clean, comfortable and the self-catering kitchens a great idea. Contained everything one could want.

Our bedroom, no5, was at the rear, overlooking the patio/garden. Immediately outside the window was a powerful floodlight (security?) Which the blinds did little to dim as the light came round the sides and across our pillows. Sleeping in that sort of light was intermittant at best! Should add the light was on ALL NIGHT. Have to give everything else 10/10 but that was a definite no-no. To anyone thinking of staying there, ask for a FRONT ROOM.

Room clean & comfortable, could do with somewhere to hang the towel near shower. In general was a very pleasant stay with some nice homely touches, i.e. daily cookies left in bedroom

Pillows were a little hard & high for our likes, but some like them like that. Stairs were quite steep for my wife, but manageable. Fridges were playing up in kitchen area unfortunately.

Smell hanging in bedroom when we arrived sorted by opening windows. Halogen bedside lamp nearest door crackles intermitently which concerned me??

So glad we found this gem of an accommodation! Such a great location, big free onsite car park and good sized room. We booked a family room and were delighted that there was an internal diving wall and door so it allowed us and our teenage daughter some privacy, while safe and secure within our family unit. The guest house has two big onsite well equipped kitchens, so breakfast could be done at our own pace and we could make the food that suited us. We will definitely use again when visiting family and friends in the area.

I like the fact that it was straight forward, just a room. No bar or anything (as far as I know) so there was freedom to just bring your own things in. Staff were very friendly and explained things very clearly, such as the fire safety regulations.

Not much, if there was anything it would simply be the road outside was very busy for crossing and there isn't a big reception door on the front, so at first you are not 100% sure where to head, but that was about it.

The room was large and very comfortable with a armchair and foot stool, another soft chair at a dressing table unit that had a pull out section ideal for using a laptop or writing on. There was tea ,coffee hot chocolate ,biscuits plus two bottles of drinking water. The bathroom was perfect as was the bed . Although there was no breakfast you had access to the kitchen where you could use all the facilities. Next time we are travelling up north we will definitely be staying here again.

This little gem excels what it offers. It's self catering accommodation on a budget. The hosts are amazing, rooms spacious and very clean. Beds are super comfortable. Free parking. Fantastic location for Retford/Leverton.

No faults, no air conditioning but you do get a great big fan which is great.

Great location and easy to find from the A1. The room was spacious and very nicely appointed with quality bedding, towels and a lovely selection of tea and coffee making facilities. A real benefit is having a kitchen to use with fridges, toaster and extra beverage supplies. The lawns feels like a real home from home and one where you would be happy to stay for more than one night. Highly recommended 👌
