The staff at this hotel are fantastic. We came as a double trip to celebrate our anniversary but also for play off weekend (ice hockey) put a we note in while booking and we received free chocolates, free breakfast the next morning, a free bottle of wine & a room filled with balloons. The girl Abbie who organised all this was so lovely as were the other staff. The fella on reception when we were checking out on Monday was so happy, friendly & bubbly! Stored our bags for us until we had to go for our train back to the airport. Always greeted us with a smile when we say him.

Everything was lovely except trying to find hotel/ parking.

Nothing but if stayed again would only be if came by train. We spent an hour in the end driving round in circles ( partner's sat nav needs updating). Lovely location once you have got there!

The buffet breakfast was amazing. So much on offer and really filled us up for the day! The bed was very comfy. We were also allowed to check in a bit earlier which was nice. And the room was very spacious! The location is also handy for train station and city centre.

Reception staff could have been a bit more friendlier. They were a bit sharp in responses. The bathroom felt like a hospital bathroom (very old fashioned and basic) so could do with an update for a four star hotel. There was a few stains on the carpet in our room and the noise was quite loud from the hallway at night.

The room was well equipped with everything you could need. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was very good. Clean/spotless. Easy walking into town.

Ignore instructions on their site for parking. We went round and round until we gave up looking for their adjacent site? Just Park at the Railway Station !! Cheap and not far to walk to the hotel. Could have done with some Tourist information leaflets. Make sure you know where you plan to go before coming.

Breakfast was delicious as usual as I have stayed here multiple times and he beds are so comfortable and soft. The servers in the breakfast room were polite and helpful. Scenic room with a nice view over the water. The one gentleman who worked on the front desk till 11 was incredible. He was so helpful when asking for semi skimmed milk for the room and the bar staff were great when ordering desserts to take up to the room they kept me posted with how long it would be for the dessert and helped me with the buttons into the lift when carrying it upstairs.

The lady who worked on the front desk wasnt very helpful. When asking for semi skimmed milk she gave me full fat and said it was semi skimmed and the packaging had just changed. As I am bad with full fat milk and can make me ill this wasn't a good experience. The aircon does it's own thing and comes in in the middle of the night but I think they were expecting issues as they had heaters on every floor and in rooms to use but this was brilliant and we did use them in the end.

My stay at the hotel was great! The room was spacious, and the bed was comfortable. We were warmly welcomed with a thoughtful gift of chocolate and coupons for complimentary drinks and coffee at the bar, courtesy of the friendly and attentive employee Robin. The breakfast was tasty, featuring a huge selection of plenty of fresh fruits and veggies, and the very friendly staff went above and beyond to make our experience enjoyable. The location was also great—right next to the train station and just a 10-minute walk from the city center, making everything easily accessible.

Overall, it was a pleasant stay with great service and amenities. The lobby was very nice and modern, but the room furniture felt a little old-fashioned. However, this was just a minor detail and didn’t detract from the overall comfort.

One of my friends did not get the water in her room. Room was dark. Paid for three breakfasts then my friend had a letter to say she needed to pay balance no explanation on letter in reference to why this was.i had to sort it out at reception show my receipt of payment. Breakfast no indication on menu vegertarians / vegan can order sausages as only when I asked if anything on offer informed me can order it. The arrangement vegetarian options on one side and the bacon and sausages were placed separately on the other side of the middle island so then had one Queue for the eggs ect so food got cold. If the eggs ect for the non vegetarian could have been also served on the same side where the bacon and sausages were would have prevented this problem.

Breakfast was really nice and had a great choice and the location was perfect too. Easy walking into the city centre. The reception staff were very friendly.

The heating wasn't working (in February!) so we were given a portable heater which we could only have on when we were there, and it didn't heat up the whole room or the bathroom, so it was always cold, especially when taking a shower. We were offered one complimentary breakfast by way of compensation but we'd already paid for this so were given two complimentary drinks at the bar. Unfortunately, the drinks were limited to a glass of wine, soft drink on tap (not bottled) or a house whisky, which we don't drink. Couldn't swap it for a gin so had to pay.

Amazing warm welcome from reception, especially Beth. Lovely hotel overall! The lobby and bar areas were very cosy and relaxing with TV screens. The hotel was literally down the road from the train station. It was also several mins walk into Market Square. Breakfast was nice and hot. The staff were very welcoming and attentive. The bedrooms were very cosy indeed and clean. Beds were very warm. thick duvets for the winter season. I don't usually sleep too well but I had a very good nights sleep. Pleased there were sockets by the bedside. Kettle in the rooms. We had plenty of milk, sugars, PG Tips and my favourite coffee Kenco in the room for a warm brew.

Just a couple minors. We had a poor toilet flusher. Had to call maintenance but he came as quick as he could considering it was just after New years day. No slip mat in the shower.

Decor was nice, we found the bed comfy and it was perfect location for us to walk to motorpoint arena. I feel the breakfast was quite expensive but it was really nice - I liked that the window for breakfast was quite long too, not like some hotels where you have to be up early to get breakfast. The staff were friendly and plenty of tea and coffee in the rooms.

The rooms could be cleaner. Realistically, they were fine and there was nothing major but attention to detail when cleaning would have made this rating higher. The heating system also wasn’t great. I don’t think it comes on when the card is taken out of the electric slot which means you come back to a freezing cold room which takes ages to warm up. It also turned itself back on during the night which meant we woke up sweating. Review would have been a 10 had the heating been fine and small details in cleanliness addressed. I would still stay here again.
