The hotel is in an excellent location — just a 5–6 minute walk from the Old Town, as well as the central station with buses to the airport and trains to Copenhagen. Breakfast was truly impressive: generous and diverse, with ginger and energy shots, fresh Danish pastries, and a wide selection of fresh and high-quality delicacies. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The kitchen team in particular was kind and ready to assist with anything. When I arrived, I was pleasantly surprised to receive a free upgrade to a better room, which made my stay even more enjoyable.

it's surprising that the hotel does not have air conditioning. There were only fans in the rooms, which made it quite hot and stuffy during the summer when I visited. The airflow was limited, as the windows in my room could only be opened partially, and one window didn’t open at all. The hotel did not offer hair conditioner at all, which I needed during my stay

From the minute I arrived (early) at the hotel (only 10mins walk from the Central station) I felt so warmly welcomed by lovely Maria. She assisted in the check in, offered free coffee (which indeed you can enjoy all day!), and explained about wifi and breakfast and gave me a city map. My room was small with view to backyard but very quiet. It had everything you needed, good wifi, good lighting and a brilliant shower and tea and coffee maker and telly with BBC news! The breakfast in the morning was outstanding!! Really everything from cooked food to cereals, cheese, fishy dips, vegetables, tons of different milks, yoghurts, bread. It was one of the best ever!! I was also kindly allowed to leave my bag whilst visiting Lund and came back in the afternoon being kindly greeted by Hendrik the afternoon shift receptionist. From the hotel you can easily walk to the beach or the castle or old town. Friendly receptionist, smooth check in, great breakfast, we stayed for 7 nights, even though breakfast spread were the same everyday, we find that there are varieties of food items that suffice throughout these days. They provide free coffee and tea 24/7, which is very nice gesture. The room space were adequate for 2 of us, no weird smell from toilet, shower pressure were perfect, there were no aircon but the hotel provide a fan for us to ventilate the room, summer weather were so pleasant, so we just need to open the window to feel the "aircon". Location of the hotel is fantastic, we walked to most of the places we wanted to go, including the Malmo Garden Show near to Malmöhus Slott. Even though it is located in a central location, the streets were quiet at night and we rested well. There is a nearby bus stop that took us to Ikea. We had fun! Thank you BW!

It appears the bedsheets were not changed, we noticed short hairs on pillows, and sheets don't smell the freshest.

An overall very pleasant stay. From the arrival, we were greeted by this lady who was all smiles, very kind and helpful. The location: 5 minutes walking distance from the Central Station, close to the center and a very beautiful park. The room: a superb view overlooking the river. Spacious enough for two persons. The breakfast: one of the best I have ever had. Most of the products were organic, gluten and lactose free options, as well. The highlight was the "waffle station," where you can prepare them as you wish.

There were 2 aspects which can be improved. The coffee from the breakfast is not that good. An espresso machine, or, maybe, a better quality coffee, would level up to 5 stars the whole breakfast experience. The room: the walls from the room were quite dirty, a refreshment on the painting would be much appreciated. The furniture is a bit outdated.

It is within walking distance of the city center and the central station and airport bus station. The single room was tiny but very cosy. My room was facing the back of the street, so there was no traffic noise at all. The bed was very comfy. There was a tiny fridge in the room, with a small botle of water. The breakfast looks exactly like the pictures, everything was fresh and tasty, the coffee tastes like coffee, the scrambled eggs taste like scrambled eggs. The staff was very nice.

The water pressure in the toilet was very poor, but I noticed that all over the city so I think it's not a property issue. The door is not really soundproof, so you might be disturbed by noise from the hallway.

This hotel is in very close walking distance from the Central Station. The staff are polite and friendly. The bed is comfortable, I found the short pillows odd but only because I'm not used to that. The bedding and towels were spotless. The breakfast is exceptional with a large range from cold to hot including healthy options to suit all tastes. Free coffee is available throughout your stay. This is not a luxury hotel but it has all your basic needs just don't forget your European adapter if you're coming from the UK!

There was a bad smell coming from my bathroom drain. I did report this so this is not a surprise comment. I should have reported the missing bulb from the desk light, it's not a complaint!

Every kind of breakfast you could think of: cereals with milk, yogurt, fruits, vegetables, sliced meats and spreads, jam, nuttela, white beans, omlette, bacon, sausages, cottage cheese, even waffles. My favorite part was the vitamin shots. There's coffee or tea available 24/7. The location is great, a few minutes from the train station and the hotel front has great views. Room and bathroom were clean (we booked a twin room). There are two radiators in the room, plus an electric radiator. Our room was very well heated, even though it was 0 degrees outside.

There were large spiderwebs on the ceiling.

I had a pleasant stay at the Best Western Hotel Royal in Malmö. While the room was slightly on the smaller side, it was perfectly adequate for my one-night stay in the city. The location is excellent, situated right opposite Malmö Central Station and just a short walk from the city center, making it very convenient for exploring. The staff were absolutely lovely and went above and beyond when I mentioned I’d be leaving early and wouldn’t need breakfast—they kindly offered me a breakfast bag to collect from reception on my departure. This thoughtful gesture really made a great impression. Overall, a comfortable and convenient choice for a short stay in Malmö!

There wasn’t anything I didn’t like about my stay at Best Western Hotel Royal in Malmö. The room, while slightly compact, was perfectly suited to my needs, and the location was ideal for getting around the city. The staff’s kindness and attention to detail truly made the experience enjoyable.

The hotel and the room interior were very comfortable and clean with very friendly staff at reception and hearty breakfast. Beyond that it is located at a distance of 10 minutes walk the central station, 15 minutes walk from the beach, a couple of minutes walk from the street of the old town as well in the much more silent part of the city in comparison to other variant.

Great location to walk from Malmo train station. Rental car offices an easy walk. Important to me that someone was at the desk all through the day and early evening. My single room was at back in old part of building, but not a problem. Bath updated. Quiet when I needed to sleep. No loud people on grounds to disrupt sleep. Beds in Europe much harder than in US. Just doubled up comforter to make softer, slept well. Very helpful staff with directions, other questions. Breakfast superior, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, etc., even Swedish meatballs. Cost best Thursday night, $20 higher Friday night, $40 higher Saturday night, but was expected for weekend stay. Would stay again.

My door hinges creaked, just needed to be oiled, easy to fix.
