A perfect cozy guest house close to the Torquay marina, with very comfortable beds and a quiet atmosphere. You would be pleasantly surprised by the best home-made English breakfast, freshly cooked from local ingredients. During all our stay, we felt very welcomed by the friendly hosts, who gave all their heart and helped us with booking related problems.

I had the room downstairs and it room was lovely with a giant bed, nice shower, so many treats in the room and how clean it was. It’s also super safe for a solo traveller with good security and parking on the drive or a short trip to the train station. Jo and Darren were super responsive beforehand and have lots of breakfast options from continental, a lovely fruit salad to a full cooked breakfast (yes definitely ask for the black pudding). They also offer a 4 course dinner but can give you so many local recommendations and everything is in walking distance. Would definitely stay again and would recommend to anyone visiting!
Loved my stay and the location was great to walk to the harbour so was happy with everything.

This was a nice guest house in a good location to explore the Torbay area. It has good parking and a nice little bar & lounge area. The room was quite big and had everything needed. The breakfasts were lovely and set us up for the day. The owners were very friendly and the place had a nice atmosphere.
The bathroom was very small and quite a squeeze especially in the shower. We had a room at the front which was on quite a busy main road. It was ok with the window shut but could get noisy if you had to open them which, as the room was quite warm, you would probably need to do in the summer. A fan was provided in the room to overcome this.

We stayed for two nights at Edgcombe. Nice welcome from Jo and Darren who own the guesthouse. They were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We had a ground floor room with a large bed. Everything was spotless. Lots of little extra touches like tissues, pasteurised milk in the fridge, little jar of toffees, biscuits and a Nespresso coffee maker. Breakfast was very good. You choose what you want the night before. It’s within easy reach of two railway stations and a 10/15min walk to the sea front and restaurants. Parking outside the property.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Mount Edgcombe Guest House, and I can honestly say it was one of the best experiences I've had. From the moment I arrived, the staff was incredibly welcoming and attentive. They made me feel right at home! The room was beautifully decorated, spacious, and impeccably clean. The bed was super comfortable, and I had some of the best sleep I've had in a long time. Location-wise, Mount Edgcombe is perfectly situated. It’s close to the main attractions but still secluded enough to offer a peaceful retreat. I loved exploring the nearby shops and cafes during the day and then returning to the hotel for a relaxing evening. Overall, I can't recommend Mount Edgcombe highly enough! Whether you're looking for a romantic getaway or a family vacation, this hotel offers everything you need for a memorable stay. I will definitely be coming back!

This venue and our bedroom is super clean - wish my house was like this -. the little extras were fabulouse, glass bottles for water, as were tea tray goodies and shower treats. So great to have parking. Breakfast was very good. Very helpful check in. Perfect balance between giving information on house and not being too fussy. The hosts go to a lot of trouble to ensure a welcome and happy stay. Quality beds and linen with very nice towels. Comfy beds. All much appreciated.
PLEASE NOTE THIS COMMENT IS ENTIRELY MY OWN FAULT. We found room 4 compact - two single beds bottom to bottom with very little room to move about. Ventilation to the bedroom not great as small window a few inches from headboard was draughty and noisy when open. Used small winow in toilet (difficult to reach) and small shower window. The wall tele was so high and couldnt be seen with any ease (nowhere else to site it). Fridge approx a meter from my nose cut in and out most of the night. Apparently I should have viewed this room through Booking.com before booking it. Lesson learnt - as i say entirely my fault and no reflection on the other rooms. so please do not be put off going to Edgcombe.

Jo and Darren were fantastic hosts. They’ve put a lot of thought into what goes into the rooms. We had a fridge with fresh milk, coffee/tea tray and bottled water. The shower was amazing. Toiletries were provided also. Plenty of wardrobe space, chest of drawers, TV, hairdryer and a fan to cool the room down as it was very hot weather whilst we were there. Good information book, WiFi, clock radio, free parking. There is a residents lounge and bar area plus a dining room for breakfast. You order your breakfast the night before which is great as it means less waste. The fruit salad for breakfast was amazing, freshly made to order. Eggs were delicious as fresh as they could be. All set out ready for you in a light exceptionally clean dining room. Heaps of local information in reception. Five minute walk from the seafront. Wouldn’t hesitate to come back.

Mount Edgcombe is in a great location. It is close to the beach but set back enough from the waterfront meaning that it is quiet in the evenings. The rooms are spacious with great facilities and thoughtful little touches. The free items within the room are from quality brands and it's clear that the owners have put a lot of thought into the customers' comfort and ensuring that they have an enjoyable stay. The breakfast was stunning -the best bacon I've ever had
Nothing. As it was Bank Holiday there were additional breakfast times available which was great.

I recently stayed at Mount Edgcombe for a work trip, and the experience was exceptional. The hospitality was truly second to none; from the moment I arrived, both Jo and Darren went above and beyond to ensure every aspect of my stay was perfect. The breakfast was a highlight, with freshly made full English. As for the rooms, they were incredibly comfortable, offering a cosy atmosphere that made it easy to relax and unwind. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone seeking top-notch service and a comfortable, pleasant stay.

The hosts Darren and Jo are very accommodating, we checked in late due to traffic congestion and they were there to check us in. The room was spacious, comfortable and very clean. The location is perfect for a base in the area and Jo gave us some great ideas for our short stay and recommendations on where to eat! Strongly recommended this place if you are visiting Torquay.
