We had a fantastic weekend stay at this beautiful B&B in Torquay. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by how tastefully decorated and immaculately clean the entire place was. Our room was spacious, stylish, and exceptionally comfortable – the bed was a dream to sleep in! The mini bar was a lovely touch – well stocked with very reasonably priced items, which made relaxing in the room even more enjoyable. What really made our stay special were the hosts, Ali and Michael. They were incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and looked after. I accidentally left my shoes behind, and they kindly arranged for my daughter to collect them – such thoughtful service! Breakfast each morning was a real highlight – an excellent selection of hot and cold options, all delicious, with the sausages being especially memorable. A perfect stay all around – we wouldn’t hesitate to return and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Torquay!

My wife and I chose Kingston House at random from the internet. We were incredibly lucky to have selected one the best bed and breakfast establishments at which we have ever stayed. Our hosts, Allison and Michael, couldn't possibly have been more friendly and welcoming. Our room was beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean and included many features that I doubt are found at other B&Bs, such as a coffee machine as well as a kettle. There was an abundance of the usual complementary items one expects to find and a well-stocked honour bar. After a perfect night's sleep in our extremely comfortable bed we luxuriated in the excellent shower. Our breakfasts were truly five-star, Allison having taken our orders the previous evening. Our niece, visiting from Poland, also had a room and was overwhelmed to have shared our experience of staying at a tip-top, authentic, English B&B and to have sampled such luxury. I can't recommend Kingston House highly enough and we will always stay with Allison and Michael when we visit Torquay.

There was nothing not to like. It was unalloyed perfection.

The whole experience was fantastic, the hosts Michael & Alison are really really nice people & we were made to feel welcomed right from the start &they can't do enough for you, we went to celebrate my birthday & they gave us a cream tea & we had a couple of glasses of wine with them in their lovely, cosy lounge to celebrate, the house has so much character & immaculately clean & our room was a lovely size & comfy bed & had everything you could wish for, we'll definitely be back

If you like luxury and fabulous hosts then Kingston House is the place to stay! The room was well appointed with everything that you could possibly need, I am sure that if you did need anything Alli or Michael would do their best to get it for you. Breakfast was delicious with Michael making one of the best omelettes that I have had, the quality of the full English ingredients were first class. Some of the outstanding features for us was: Large comfy bed White Company toiletries Lovely fluffy towels Well stocked hospitality tray Would definitely stay again if in the area and they had vacancies. First of all we would like to thank Allison and Michael for their warm and very welcoming professional hospitality during our 2 nights stay in Kingston House. They have not only created a beautiful accommodation but do everything to make you feel at home. This was our first B&B experience and it was just an unforgettable stay in this beautiful lovely Victorian house, like you would see in a House and Garden magazine. Our bedroom was tastfully furnished and decorated, with a lovely warm atmosphere, super clean with all the facilities you need. The extra large bed with crisp white sheets was very comfortable. Lovely delicious breakfast with perfectly scrambled eggs, bacon and yoghurt with fresh berries. In the lovely beautiful stylish lounge with a small cheerful bar ( best of both worlds :) )we watched the final football match between England and Spain and it felt like we were at home. We could sense in every detail that Michael and Allison enjoy running a B&B. Thank you so much.

Excellent value, friendly hosts, incredibly clean and air con was a welcome surprise. The bed was huge ☺️

Shower pressure was a little low and the temperature could not be changed once hot (stayed was quite hot). Think there was an air lock in the pipes based on the occasional noise. Parking was provided (which was great) but tight to get in and out of all in use.

Honestly, I can not fault this guest house. The hosts, Ali and Michael were very friendly and made our stay very comfortable. The room is clean and a good size too. The bed is very comfortable. The house is only a few minutes away from the harbour by car but if you love walking, it is a nice walk to the harbour too. We stayed for a couple of nights, but after this experience, me and hubby will definitely be returning for more stays. Trust me, you won't be disappointed. Oh, I forgot to mention the breakfast.....it was superb.

From the moment we arrived we knew we were in for a treat! Beautiful accommodation. The cream tea on arrival was such a lovely thoughtful touch too. Our room was clean, spotless and extremely comfortable. The little extras were brilliant too.. From the fresh milk in the fridge, windows that open ( some hotels we have stayed the windows don't open at all!) toiletries and some yummy chocolates too. We also liked the mini bar just incase you fancied a snack or drink. The bed was extremely comfortable too, I didn't want to get out of it Saturday morning ha ha! The breakfast each morning was amazing... Considering we have been and stayed at The Langham in London... The breakfast at Kingston House and our room /overall facilities totally pooped over our stay at The Langham... The breakfast was fresh, delicious and tasty. Michael is a great chef! The setting for the breakfast was lovely too I love the nautical decor. Allison and Michael are such lovely hosts, nothing is too much for them, they genuinely care about their guests ( Langham hotel take note!) and we really enjoyed our stay. I loved how the hotel was only a 15/20 minutes walk away (depends how quick you walk) from the harbour.. the walk was a lovely walk too especially through the Abbey. We will definitely be staying here again when coming to Torquay, wouldn't stay anywhere else as you literally have everything at Kingston House! Thoroughly recommend. The breakfast was exceptional, with a wide selection ranging from a perfectly cooked FULL ENGLISH to a good selection of cereals, yoghurts with fruit and muesli, and locally sourced bread, all excellently presented by our lovely hosts ALLISON and MICHAEL, who we very friendly and pleasant, and sociably engaging with info of the local area and activities to do which enhanced the holiday experience greatly. WELL DONE. The bedrooms and bathrooms were of a high standard and serviced regularly. ALLISON and MICHAEL thank you so much you were brilliant, we could not have asked for better hosts and your B and B is fantastic, we will DEFINITELY be returning next year. Michael keep up the good work in the kitchen your cooking skills put Gordon Ramsey to shame ( your fried bread was lovely) and Allison you to were amazing serving the breakfast and ensuring we had all we needed to enjoy the excellent food . There was nothing I did not like about the holiday, the accommodation, surrounding area and the amenities were excellent, definitely worth another visit next year

Alli and Michael were extraordinarily good hosts. Friendly and welcoming, with a plethora of ideas and suggestions to maximise our trip to Torquay. Nothing was too much trouble. The property is quite rightly 5* rated tastefully decorated and exceptionally clean with an expansively comfortable bed, en-suite, air con and hand made truffles on the pillow. A superb team, Alli and Mike shone during breakfast service with a naturally gregarious style and sense of fun they ensured all the guests were catered for and looked after. The breakfast choices were extensive, tasty and beautifully cooked. An excellent boutique hotel which we look forward to visiting again. Thank you both for welcoming us and providing such a wonderful stay for us both.
