The owner, Dani and staff were friendly, fun and welcoming. This was my second time staying at Micro-Hostal Puerta del Perdón and both times were a wonderful experience. I walked the Camino de Santiago so unfortunately, it was only for one night but wished I’d stayed longer. This is such a special place. Dani, the host and owner is hospitable and greets you with a warm welcome, I felt like family. The entire place is very clean and the rooms are full of charm and character. And the bed is extremely comfortable. There was so much attention to detail! Dinner at the restaurant was simply divine. And the salad was so hearty that it could have easily been a meal all in itself. I can’t forget about the croquettes. They were the best I’ve tasted on and off the Camino. Thank you Dani for making me feel so welcomed and cared for. Until next time…

I liked everything!

The hotel is located right on the Camino, just as you enter the town and a stroll away from the centre. We arrived early and Danny, the host, allowed us go to our room and freshen up before checking us in. He was very friendly, pleasant and obliging. He stored our bikes overnight. He washed, dried and presented us with our clothes neatly folded later that night. Our room was a decent size and had a bit of character. The shower was good. We had a good dinner in the hotel. Maria was friendly and obliging at breakfast the following morning. We had juice, coffee and bread with jam.

There was only one gluten-free option at dinner, so I had a burger without a bun.

First, location is great. The property is really wonderful, cozy, clean and I can’t say enough good things about it. I showed up early because I had an injured foot and could not walk this day. I was sitting across the street and Daniel (the owner) saw me and literally walked across the street and invited me in. I was able to check in a little early and elevate my foot per doctors orders. To say I appreciated that is just not enough. It really helped. And then, not to be missed, is the food at the restaurant. OMG!!! I hate fresh tomatoes that were the size of my head and delicious as my starter and for my main I had the steak which was cooked to perfection. It was the best meal on my camino! The wine was really good and I asked Daniel just to pick the dessert for me and it was a tangerine ice cream that really was perfect.

There is nothing about this property that I don’t love. I wish I could stay more days.

This is a real treasure at the end of a tough stage of the Camino. The owner was extremely helpful, super flexible and provided a friendly, professional service with great food and drinks. He also organized our taxi to Leon for a very reasonable price, stayed late to keep the bar running for other guests, and provided great advice. The rooms are very spacious and comfortable, with good sized bathrooms and lots of hot water. An excellent place to stay - and for half the price of other (smaller, less friendlier and less comfortable) places on the Camino!

Stayed here while I was walking the Camino. The rooms are all individually named and decorated to that theme. They are a bit quirky and that gives it this incredible charm. Had one of my best nights sleep here. Well located and close to the center of town. What really sets this apart is the owner of the property. He is not only a great hotelier with a natural hospitality mindset but is such a warm, funny, caring person. You feel his embrace the moment you step into this property. I would highly recommend staying here whether you are on the Camino or not. Only disappointment was not being able to eat at their amazing restaurant as it was closed the night I was there. I Need to better plan next time !

The host, Dani, is amazing. He represents the feeling of Villafranca: warm, charming, kind and so welcoming to everyone. He works so hard and is always there for everyone. The house and rooms are tastefully decorated. My room was super comfortable (bed, shower, lightning, everything). The food, perfectly paired with local wine, was the best I have had on the Camino. This experience will always have a special place in my heart ❤️

Daniel was the perfect host. He was warm and informative about the town and very accommodating. The rooms are beautiful with exposed walls from the past. The windows can open and the room is quite spacious as was the bathroom. Breakfast was basic and good coffee was served. I wish I could have stayed longer - it was a wonderful town and accommodation.

There was no dinner the night I was there, so I'm not sure if I misread the days of the week it was open. There are plenty of places to eat so that was not a problem.

Comfortable, warm and homey. Great location at the beginning of the town on The Camino. Staff allowed for an early checking and was very kind. We had a lovely little terrace and nice wooden doors that opened out to same. A peaceful slumber. And a lovely breakfast at 7am. Great coffee and homemade blueberry cake.

The water pressure in the shower was somewhat minimal but small complaint compared to all of the pluses of this place.

Location near the castle was fabulous. Dani the host is a local with lots of local info to share. Room was great, beds were comfy. He also was a super host— greeting me before I even fully opened the door, scheduled in room massages for us when we inquired about them, provided an amazing and personal gourmet dinner experience (with a view of the castle). Dani went above and beyond repeatedly. This was definitely the highlight of Camino lodging experiences.

Danny was a fantastic host. He looked after us from the moment we arrived until the moment we left. When we arrived we were tired and soaked from a long day in the rain. Danny was very kind, calm and really added to the enjoyment of our stay. We can't praise him highly enough. The food was delicious. We even had some tomato from Danny's garden. We have no hesitation in recommending staying at Micro Hostal La Puerta del Perdon.
