The awesome staff are fantastic. The wonderful lady (Teresa) who checks you in goes over everything from hours and locks and codes, to restaurant recommendations and where to go swimming at the river - for people who really like nature! The other lady who works at night (didn’t get name) was awesome as well. And it would not be right to not mention the great lady who helps you in the morning for breakfast. Our bags were stored for us and we had the use of a lift. The room was fantastic, spacious, and the bed was super comfortable. The added bonus of a bathtub made it really special. It is also directly on the Camino route. There is nothing about this property that we did not like. We would absolutely recommend this property - and we will stay here again when we do the Camino again - or come to stay at this great town for vacation.

It was clean and the beds were comfortable.

The staff was a bit snooty, when I was checking in there were like 6 others trying to do the same. The receptionist seemed a bit frazzled. Nothing was explained to us. The next morning as we were leaving early we saw breakfast was being served. We sat down and asked for a cup of coffee and the lady was very, very rude. She stated we had not paid for coffee and we answered that we expected to pay for coffee and would go so, she continued to talked under her breathe making everyone very uncomfortable. We had a cup of coffee and a piece of toast and she charged us 24Euros. She was extremely rude and it was truly all very unexpected.

Exquisite experience from start to finish. Super comfy bed and pillows. Beautiful bathroom with a soaker tub to die for. Exceptional rooftop views from my top floor suite. Excellent buffet breakfast. Superb staff. Central location on the Camino by the river in a central location. Quiet peaceful sleep.

Beautiful building, lovely decor of our room. Really first class, sensitive restoration of an old ruin (I understand from the website). Great shower and bath, lovely fluffy towels and quality soap.

There was no common area/ lobby to sit and have a glass of wine or coffee. One person at reception was helpful and told us where to get the Lugo bus. The other 2 persons did not engage and were a little distant for people in the hospitality industry. Perhaps it was the language barrier?

Elegantly decorated, kind and welcoming staff, generous textiles feel luxurious in this mountain town setting after a 22Km trek with full pack on a sunny winter’s day. The bed was comfortable, the soak in a shallow warm bath absolutely decadent. Directions given to the Plaza Mayor in search of a snack and a cold beverage while enjoying a rare day of bright sunshine. Breakfast options were abundant and I felt spoiled with a place set for me in the side dining room. A true gem along the Camino.

Room was delightful with a comfortable bed, lovely en-suite and good temperature in the room thanks to the aircon. Breakfast was a simple Continental breakfast but served in style with great service for coffee and other requests. Located in a delightful part of Villafranca del Bierzo just on the Calle del Agua. The ladies on the reception desk were wonderfully helpful, perfect receptionists.

For parking, we were fortunate that someone was leaving the roadside parking just outside the hotel. If not, parking might have been a problem, possibly a distance from the hotel but I cannot be certain of that.

Stunning, gorgeous, comfortable and clean rooms with loads of space. It's close by to the centre of town and very walkable to restaurants, the cathedral and the gardens.

The booking lists laundry facilities but there aren't any available and there is also no laundromat in the town so just plan ahead if youre on the camino and need clean clothes. WiFi also stopped working in the morning

Beautiful stay on the camino with a decent sized room and bathroom. Lovely decor, comfortable, clean and cozy room. Had a fantastic view and was right on the camino. The breakfast was great value and the staff friendly.

The town was lovely however the streets and pathways are going through major renovations and may be difficult to access for some.

Kind, friendly and very helpful staff. Nice, big room with a great view. Good place to relax for a day or two. Bath with plug. Laundry facility. Nice breakfast. Good location.

No evening meals in the hotel, though there are excellent restaurants nearby - ask hotel staff or locals. Laundry was not returned to my room - I had to ask for it. There can be some communication problems unless you speak good Spanish, although the staff are lovely and will always do their best.

This building and our room were really lovely. There were electrical sockets in good locations. We had our private space and bathroom and it was nice. The receptionist was so nice.

The room we had was really tiny and there were no places to put things. We had a very long, rainy day of walking on the Camino Frances and we really needed more space to spread out and dry our things. We checked in a bit later than most people, and were left standing outside a while before someone came to the door.
