Beautiful hotel on Matemwe beach which has very extreme tides where sometimes you don't see the sea and others it doesn't go out at all. There are enough sun beds to look at the beautiful white sand beach and dazzling blue sea and not as many people trying to sell you things as on the north west side of the island. It is also very safe to walk around and to walk up and down the beach, where there are many restaurant/bar options. The food in the restaurant is delicious and the room itself is very spacious and clean. We had the honeymoon suite so we also had our own private patio with beach which was a very lovely experience.

It was our honeymoon and we stayed at six places in Zanzibar, all of which went the extra mile to make our stay special as it was our honeymoon. We did highlight this to staff but there were no little extra touches made which felt a bit disappointing. The staff did not seem as invested as at other hotels we have stayed at on the island, although they were very professional and courteous.

The beautiful beachfront honeymoon suite with private and direct access to the beach. The amazing staff addressed us by name and attended promptly to all our requests. I have a special shoutout to Mussa at reception who booked all of our activities and ensured everything ran smoothly. Thank you for the complimentary massage after a long flight! Let’s take a moment for the views… there’s an infinity pool overlooking the ocean which makes for spectacular spot to catch the sunset. Lastly, there’s an extensive breakfast menu where you can try a different meal each day during your stay and I’d highly recommend the lobster for dinner and coconut cocktails for lunch 😉. I absolutely enjoyed my stay and will definitely be back on my next trip.

Everything was perfect! I truly got to experience an island holiday in an upscale hotel.

We were blown away when we saw the spectacular view from our sea view balcony (see photo). This small hotel is in a stunning location on the beautiful beach. All the staff were excellent in every way, friendly, helpful, always smiling and welcoming, all seemed happy in their work. Restaurant good, lunch & dinner menu changed every day, the chef is a very good cook! Good wines and great cocktails from the bar. Breakfast also excellent with freshly baked breads, lovely fruit and good selection of cooked dishes as well.I’m addicted to the fresh ginger tea! Property set among beautiful tropical gardens that were well maintained. Excellent pool area, with ample comfortable sun beds, also available on the beach. We enjoyed a couple of superb massages during our stay! We like to explore and try different restaurants and local food on holiday and there was enough around the hotel for our 6 night stay. We loved the comfy seating on our balcony, The room was very large, with bright furnishings, good quality towels and bedding. We did have a couple of minor issues with our room, and were very impressed with the managements approach to dealing with them. The hotel has been under new ownership for a few months and we were told they immediately started working hard replacing cabling, improving the electrical supply, installing a generator etc. They have a plan to continue making improvements where necessary during the closed period in the rainy season. We also learnt that the hotel are working with the local community to improve their access to water by digging wells. Although the hotel.are using plastic water bottles, we learnt they have tried different methods of supplying water to the guests, that haven’t worked so well, so they are now taking part in a unique recycling scheme with a few other hotels on the island.

Leaving there and coming home!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at a Zoi hotel in Zanzibar, and I can't sing its praises enough. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with exceptional service that truly set the tone for my entire stay. The service was impeccable, particularly from the front desk and management team. They went above and beyond to ensure that my stay was comfortable and enjoyable. Whether it was arranging excursions, providing local tips, or accommodating special requests, they handled everything with a smile and professionalism that made me feel like a valued guest. The highlight of the hotel was undoubtedly its amazing pool. Surrounded by lush tropical gardens and offering breathtaking views, it was the perfect place to relax and unwind. The pool area was meticulously maintained, with plenty of comfortable loungers and shaded spots to escape the sun when needed. The water was crystal clear, inviting, and just the right temperature. My stay at this tropical hotel in Zanzibar was nothing short of magical. The combination of an incredible pool and top-notch service created a memorable experience that I won't soon forget. If you're looking for a slice of paradise with exceptional hospitality, this hotel is the perfect choice. Highly recommended!

This place was everything and more. Took my mum away for her 70th birthday, they made her birthday so special, they helped me decorate the rooms with balloons and banners, made her a birthday cake which they gave to her at dinner and sang happy birthday. The rooms were lovely, the place is surrounded in beautiful trees and plants, you walk from your rooms to the pool/dining area which is located on the beach. The views are incredible. White sands and blue water. The staff were simply the best, so friendly and polite. Helped you with anything that you needed, offered a free massage during your staff. The food was amazing. They organised activities for you. The hotel is about 1hrs drive from the airport. Unforgettable experience. 100% recommend

It’s pretty isolated from anything. You will be taxis to transport you around.

The staff were amazing!! We stayed in a partial ocean view room and full ocean view room as we moved half way through. Both were amazing. There was always a veggie dish on the lunch and dinner menus and the breakfast was incredible. The cats were super cute too ❤️❤️

The net in the full ocean room was tatty and we didn’t appreciate the woman barging it at 7pm unannounced to spray the room with deet. Do it during cleaning or something but not when couples are obviously in the room. It was embarrassing and intrusive.

A really chilled and peaceful place to stay after a hectic travel itinerary. The staff were really helpful, shout out to “Nice”. The food was great , pool and layout lovely. We were offered an upgrade to the house on the beach but we preferred the Seaview rooms . It felt more connected to the beach and resort. Loved the complimentary massage !!

The roads to the resort were a bit complicated and the taxi couldn’t find it initially. They are uneven and confusing. If you are arriving in Zanzibar for the first time it is a bad impression. you feel concerned that you haven’t been scammed on line. I was relieved once we arrived at the door.

Very Cute hotel on an authentic area. Absolutely loved the staff , they re very helpful and welcoming. A great place for those Who love tranquility.

- way overpriced - tours are very expensive so there's not much to do. I would sugges providing bicycles considering the price of the stay. Also, free or affordable shuttle service to cities (they've offered an 80 usd ride to Nungwi) and a gym. - the 'do not disturb' sign is not really being respected. The lady entered the room , she was very apologetic and lovely but kept knocking on the door on the following days. It's not an issue but worth mentioning. - no water Flow in the shower but I guess it 's not from the hotel - pools are lovely but water is too cold. Was not able to use them

Everything was perfect! The hotel is right on a beautiful and long sandy beach and offers a variety of amazing views, great service & hospitality from the professional and friendly staff! On top of it all, the restaurant was exceptional, offering a different menu every single day with several options, always with fresh & organic products. Also, it’s important to be noted that the restaurant prices were very good, which is the opposite than what we read on some reviews and really can’t relate to. Overall, we felt like home and highly recommend it as we’re definitely coming back!

Amazing resort right on the beach front! The staff were amazing and personable, from reception to the food service. The cleaning was immaculate and the room had beautiful flowers. The food menu changed everyday and was fresh. We only stayed there for two days but we would have stayed longer. Our trip was made extra special by the manager George!
