This is a quaint and nicely remodeled vintage motel. We love finding these kind of motels. We had a lovely and very clean room for our short stay. The furnishings were of good quality and attractive. We loved the vintage tiled bathroom. The mattress was very comfortable and supportive. There was some road noise that I had issue with but I had brought some ear plugs so it drowned it out enough to sleep. If you are sensitive to this I recommend one of the rooms in back or down below. WE would stay there again but in one of the quieter rooms like I mentioned. Also, they do not have any king bed rooms as they don't have enough space.

Nothing that the motel could do anything about

The room, the bed, the bathroom. Room was clean, comfortable and usable. Pillows and bed were good. Bathroom was lovely and had an antique vibe. Great on the hot water and had soaps and shampoos and conditioners to use! It had good vibes all around. The moment my husband and I walked in we were like, oh, this is NICE. Staff was very kind and helpful. They were friendly and soft-spoken and just lovely gentlemen.

Continental breakfast was gone almost immediately and it didn't really restock. It was from 6-9am and when we went in at 7:30am there was barely any food left, nor beverages. It was disappointing because everything else was so good, I was looking forward to a lovely breakfast.

Just stayed one night here on our way to the Oregon Coast. We enjoyed our stay in this cozy little hotel. The beds were comfortable and the service was exceptional. The staff there were very friendly, and hotel manager went out of his way to make sure our needs were taken care of. You can tell the management works very hard to keep the property clean. They are hard workers, attentive, and have made this hotel a great option for your stay in Pendleton. I miss these small businesses that work so hard to please! Well done Rugged Country management.

It was very very clean. The bed and pillows were super comfortable. For an old style motel, this place is outstanding . We're staying again on our way back home. The staff is great. They obviously really care about their guests comfort. It was very quiet and perfect for a great nights rest after driving all day. The breakfast was good and was a nice added touch. Well worth going off the main highway to stay here. It is our first choice if staying in Pendleton. It may have have an old motel look on the outside, it will really surprize you on the inside in every way!! The beautiful flowers in front give it a very homey feeling.

I have stayed once about 11 months ago when I was working in the area. I was wanting to stay again this week working in the area but I could not remember the name. I had reserved a room for the night just happen being locate few blocks away but after driving by no way was I staying there. I was tired from the long drive early that morning and working late was thinking about rest area sleeping till next day. As driving by that motel drove a few blocks and was remembering the area then right in front of me this sign Rugged Country Lodge. I pulled over and rented rooms online (cheaper that way lol). When checking in I was telling the owner my story, he got the biggest giggle and smile. I love this place rooms are a Rugged Lodge looking decor but on purpose. They are very clean, comfy like a older grams lodge look from the bathrooms to the furniture and bed frame. The best part is well us that can remember the 60,70,80s a regular key unlock doors of motels (can you remember times driving realizing you still have the key lol) If you would like to visit those great times again that place brings it back. If anyone writes bad reviews they brought the complaint on themselves. Couple Indian culture own it and are/have been the most nice and polite when I was there. I don't write reviews but this place and the people that work there are just the best. The price is well was cheaper than the motel I almost stayed at just before finding this one. Sorry but I need to add this last bit, when getting ready to purchase the room for three night stay a little thing popped up and ask if I was staying for work. I clicked yes and saved another $30 for the stay of 3 nights and yes you have to prove the working your doing. There you have the story about this wonderful place and if you see a bad review don't believe what they say.

Best pillows EVER in a hotel!! Convenient location halfway between the Willamette valley and Boise, comfy bed,sparkling bathroom, & beautifully kept grounds.Simply furnished room has a small coffee pot,desk,chair,mini shampoo, conditioner & 2 soaps, make-up towels, cable TV, Heater/A.C. with a remote, small fridge & microwave. Being disabled, we really liked the extra grab bars in the bathroom! The Continental breakfast was average, & included white bread for toast, bagels & cream cheese, boiled eggs, OJ, milk & cold cereal. Nice clean breakfast room and again, very friendly staff. I liked being able to park in front of the room, & it seems like a decent neighborhood. Don't let the age of the place stop you. It's an awesome hotel, and we'll be back!!

Relatively small shower seat for bigger bods.Fresh fruit,yogurt, & a 2nd juice would improve the breakfast a bit.Plugs closer to the bed would be great, too.

The owner/manager was delightful, the room was very clean, with everything we needed and some additional, thoughtful touches (like a nightlight and a thermometer.) The pet fee was very reasonable, the host kindly left us a key in an accessible location to accommodate our very late arrival, and we just felt welcomed and so pleased we selected this place!

Maybe the room carpet is starting to get a little worn, but it was perfectly fine and it was clean. That’s really the only suggestion I could make.

We like staying here. The owner and his family take very good care of their guests. We decided to stay an extra night and had no problem staying in the room we were in. The breakfast offer has a good variety of items and everything is fresh . This is our 2nd time booking with them and we decided to book the suite since we were staying longer. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a comfortable and reasonably priced place to stay in Pendleton.

The only thing we found was the pillows were much firmer than we are used to. Solution is to bring your favorite sleeping pillows.

The proprietor was kind and helpful. The rooms were lovely. The beds were okay, but I have a bad back so I’m overly sensitive. The Continental breakfast was well stocked with many options, and the owner replenished the stock the entire time we were down there, to make sure there was enough for everyone wanting breakfast. A good balance of protein and carbs. All in all, a great little spot to rest on a long road trip! Would stay again!

Beds were a little stiff. The rooms were a bit stuffy when we got there but were quickly made comfortable by the swamp cooler. Cooler is a little noisy but effective.

The room was the cleanest room I've ever stayed in for an average price. I thought the mini bars of dove soap were such a good idea and so thoughtful. The Continental breakfast room was amazingly clean and well stocked with fresh everything. Very kind and thoughtful/well decorated, private and soothing room. The bed felt very soft and comfy and when I snuggled into the sheets and pillows they smelled very fresh and clean. Would definitely recommend to a weary traveler!
