The view of the sea from this hotel is magnificent. It is built into the cliff and looks not only onto the sea, but also the town of Amalfi. Our room, on the tippy top, was spectacular. We have stayed here many years -- beginning in 1997 (I think) and the staff has always welcomed us like we are family. The buffet breakfast is delicious and plentiful -- the the outside tables allowed us to begin our day with a magnificent view. The cloister in the middle is a peaceful and beautiful place to sit and enjoy cocktails. I cannot say enough about the staff -- each person bent over backwards to make our stay comfortable and joyful. They were even kind about my American quest for ice. Whenever I asked, they brought me a little bucket of ice for my drinks and water.

The only challenging part of this trip was that the elevator was not working for most of our stay -- the number of stairs from the pool to our room was 262, so that was A LOT of steps -- especially for my husband who has Parkinson's Disease. But, we made the best of it and just allowed plenty of time to go up and down. We will still come back to the Luna Convento -- it's an exquisite hotel with the nicest staff in the world.

We absolutely loved our stay at this historic property, where artists, musicians, poets, and saints have found inspiration for centuries. The art collection is remarkable, and both the private and public spaces are full of charm—from the elegant dining room where we enjoyed dinner, to the breathtaking breakfast terrace that delights all the senses. The location is ideal for an Amalfi stay: close enough to walk into town, yet peacefully tucked away. Whether reading a book on the terrace with a sweeping view or taking a dip in the sea, it’s the perfect place to relax and soak in the beauty of the coast.

We felt welcome as soon as we entered the hotel. The hotel has friendly staff who understand five-star service, yet they create a very relaxed and informal atmosphere. We were especially touched when the staff showed us to our room and shared some of the hotel’s history with us. It’s clear that every member of staff is proud to work in such a special place. The hotel itself is truly exceptional, with a lovely atmosphere, stunning views, a beautiful pool, and swim platforms next to the sunbeds so you can enjoy the scenery and swim in the sea. The breakfast was delicious. The hotel also benefits from an excellent location, within walking distance of everything and close to the centre of Amalfi Town.

The room was great however they could update furniture e.g., headboard and desk. The TV was tiny and very old fashioned but we spent most time by the gorgeous pool and looking at the views so it didn’t really matter.

Absolutely amazing!! If you fussing like me and do tons of researched, consider this well research and highly recommend it. The staff were so fantastic- Daniel, Patrick and Agnessa made our holiday extra special. The breakfast was delicious- may husband is a hearty breakfast guy and the scramble egg and bacon were perfect! The hotel room was small but the view ..WOW! The history of the hotel is evident with incredible tiles, the lemon courtyard and painted ceiling …beautiful! Book it now!

It’s so silly very minor … no coffee pot in the room (but the coffee was so good in the dining room) and storage for our clothes.

The most magnificent view I've ever had from a hotel room. We splurged on a room with a private terrace overlooking the sea and Amalfi town, and it was worth every cent. I still get chills thinking about it (accompanying photos were taken from the terrace). Upon arrival, we were greeted with a complimentary bottle of chilled Prosecco - a very nice touch. This place exudes class; the facilities are beautiful, the staff professional and courteous, and the dining room where breakfast and dinner are served has a view to die for. Spend a little extra, get a room with a view - you won't regret it! PS - the adjoining Torre Saraceno Restaurant is superb!

If you have mobility issues, the walk down the hill into town (and back) might be an issue, but it wasn't for us.

The Staff were very nice and approachable. The location was excellent - 5 minute walk to the centre of town. Our room was cleaned daily, with interval changing of towels up to even twice a day at times! The view from the Balcony was beautiful. The waiters were very attentive at breakfast and offered us coffee at breakfast even prior to sitting down. The coffee was good. They arranged transport back to Naples airport for us, and were very helpful and informative regarding buses and things to do in the area. The pool is a hidden gem, across the road with a picturesque sea view.

The breakfast could have tailored more towards vegetarians, as even the scrambled eggs had meat in them. Otherwise, nil complaints.

My partner and I stayed at the Hotel Luna Convento in July and absolutely loved our time here! Upon arrival, the staff was extremely friendly and even gave our room an upgrade. We had a gorgeous view off our private balcony right over the water where you could see the town of Amalfi. Our loft style room was clean and beautiful with plenty of space for the two of us. The hotel is in the perfect location being just on the edge of Amalfi, only a quick few minute walk to the main downtown area, but also equidistant to Atrani, which is a much smaller and quieter town with some great restaurants. The cocktails in the courtyard at the hotel were a nice added touch as well as the complimentary breakfast. What put this hotel at a must visit again was the sea access and pool. Being able to jump right off the cliffs into the sea was incredible. There was plenty of shaded lounge chairs along with some in the sun. Though we didn't go in the pool, it looked very inviting and was never extremely busy. Overall, I highly suggest staying at Hotel Luna Convento when visiting Amalfi! It was absolutely stunning and we will for sure be back!

There wasn't a single thing we didn't like! Everything about this hotel was phenomenal. My only suggestion would be to add more protein or egg options to the continental buffet breakfast, but that's a very small negative that doesn't affect how we will for sure be back!

We were upgraded to the castle. It was absolutely amazing. The voew is stunning. The room is super unique. It's very private. If you want a 270-degree view with access to the pool and a huge balcony, ask for room 45. The castle room. We are so lucky and grateful.

There are many many flights of stairs to get to the pool and the beach. No matter what your room. The castle room adds more steps. Its not a bad thing but important to know.

Right on main highway, lovely pool across the street with sea access. Pool area is down many steps. Breakfast is served in the restaurant with a beautiful view of Amalfi town from the terrace. The staff is lovely and prepared us a lunch after hours when we arrived tired and hungry after issues with our ferry. The cloister courtyard is nice quiet place for a drink after dinner.

Our sea view room was quite small but the balcony was lovely. The bathroom could use ventilation. Tip: If you need to come back from Ravello on a tight schedule like us, decline the offer to book a car service and take a taxi instead. The fixed price is 55. (We ended up paying a *lot* for the car because of incomplete and contradictory information from the staff and car company after we communicated a need to delay.)

The building is an old monastery from the 1200s with a beautiful cloister. The staff was very warm and welcoming and happily accommodated our every need. The bar and restaurant are stunning with views to match. Cocktails were served in the cloister during one of our evenings there. The pool area with access to the sea is incredible. The restaurant above the pool serves excellent food and, again, the staff was amazing! Views, views, and more views! We stayed in their two bedroom “special” suite (including private elevator) since we had two of our teenagers with us. The view from its terrace may be one of the best in town, complete with an electric retractable sunshade.
