The onsen was beautiful and the massage chair a welcome addition after the marathon! The onsen was quiet and peaceful because it's a small hotel. Complementary products such as moisturiser were a nice touch. The breakfast options are either Japanese or Western and are served on a tray individually. The hotel is a short walk from Fuji Q Highland station.

I would have preferred a buffet style breakfast, but it was interesting to try a Japanese style breakfast tray. Was very disappointed to not see Mt Fuji while there due to cloud cover :( I had a Fuji view room however, which would have been lovely on a better weather day.

Stayed for 4 nights, wishing we stayed for longer. Absolutely amazing hotel. Our room was very big! The bathroom was big and came with some free amenities too. Beautiful location and our room had a gorgeous view of Fujisan. We were lucky the weather was great to see it so clearly every day! Hotel is close to many local bus stations, about 10-15 min walk from Fuji-Q Highland bus station and the amusement park, and if you’re up for it, a 40 minute walk to the Chureito Pagoda from the hotel was absolutely worth the climb. Convenience stores and delicious local restaurants are close by the hotel as well. There is a restaurant at the hotel, it is a little bit pricey, but very yummy. The staff were so friendly and helpful! There is also an onsen, but as we have many tattoos we were unable to use it. A hotel we would 100% stay at again. And to the lovely keepers who tucked in my Cubone plush each day, thank you ever so much.

Nothing :)

I loved this hotel and would definitely stay again if I return to Mt. Fuji. The spa was spotless and full of character, using Pola products. My room was clean and had everything I needed. The staff were kind, and I’m glad I chose to have breakfast—both days were different and gave me a great taste of Japanese cuisine. The location was convenient, just a 5-minute walk to the bus stop and close to a large local supermarket.

What didn’t I like? Honestly, just that the hotel—and Mt. Fuji—is a bit too far from where I live. That’s the only downside, if I had to mention one.

Very helpful staff. Thank you! Everything was comfortable, we had a good western breakfast, but the Japanese breakfast option for us was too Japanese (but it looked great!). We really liked the onsen. Although it was only outside bath but it is of a great quality and the water was definitely unique! Enjoyed it very much. Location is a bit out of the way but we enjoyed that. It was calm around.

Sound isolation in the room could be improved. It is a bit dark in the room in the evening - some improvements in the lighting could be made.

If coming by train it is only about a ten minute walk to the station. There is a good bakery and a supermarket on the way. The onsen was amazing and the massage chair was great afterwards. We arrived early but could drop our bags at the hotel and go sightseeing which made the best use of our time. The room had a great view of Mt Fuji.

Just be aware of you are getting a bus back to another city that the Highland Bus stop is on the other side of the park about 25-30 mins walk. Nothing I can fault about the hotel.

These are perhaps the best, last-minute accomodations I've ever had. I needed a hotel near Fuji-Q Highland, fast, and Hotel Tatsugaoka was the only one with cheap rooms available. Nothing about the quality of service I received there was cheap, however. The polite staff went above and beyond to help when I had questions about navigating the Fujiyoshida area or if I needed extra amenities. They even held onto my luggage after I had already checked out and my missing articles when I forgot them in my room. The room itself was quaint, but clean, and the bed was big and comfortable. It had a mini fridge and a TV. The bathroom and tub were fairly spacious by Japanese standards and were clean. As you enter the hotel, you walk through a small, but pleasant teian (Japanese-style garden). The hotel lobby had free bath/beauty amenities as well as free posters of Mt. Fuji to take home, though they were too big for my suitcase. The lounge is small, but has a massage chair, a microwave, and vending machines stocked with: soda, juice, beer, and whiskey. Last, but not least, the onsen (hot spring) was small, but pleasantly relaxing after a long day of exploring, and wasn't crowded past 9 pm. Just remember to bring your spare room towel, wear the provided yukata (robe), and ditch your shoes before you enter. They have shelves for your shoes and lockers for your stuff. Caveat: I speak Japanese, so I didn't have issues communicating with the staff, so I can't comment on their English abilities, but they had English signs and directions upon request. I also can't comment on their meals, since they cost extra and I ended up eating while I was out, but if you like yakiniku (grilled meat a la cart), it's their restaurant's specialty.

There's no on-site laundry room for guests, so it's a bit of a hike to the local laundromat while carrying your clothes, but if you ask the front desk, they'll give you a map with directions. The hotel is also about 30 minutes on-foot to each of the 3 major bus/train stations in the Fujiyoshida/Fujikawaguchiko area, so plan accordingly. On the other hand, it is centrally-located and only about a 10-minute walk from Fuji-Q Highland and the It's More ! (basically Japanese Wal-Mart).

The hotel was very nice and organized, with a private onsen. The position is great if you want to see mt Fuji, chirueito pagoda and the five lakes! The parking lot is also free. The room was a bit small but clean and complete with everything needed (except a wardrobe). The restaurant was really good.

The frame of the room was a bit old, so a bit of cold came in during night. The breakfast was not "buffet" but a simple prepared tray (japanese or western). It was a bit difficult to communicate with the staff: they surely are kind and prepared with already written descriptions for procedures, but we had to use online translators

It was exactly what we wanted. Walkable from every were (famous pagoda spot 25 minutes, Naruto village 15 minutes, city center 15 minutes). Also it was not crowded and we had our chance to privately have a traditional onsen (if you go very early or late at night). All in all worth staying

It was a little overvalue. I understand that it needs more money maintenance, but other that the amazing bath (onsen) the room were not that special. I was kind of expecting something else to get the full experience.

The room was a standard business hotel type room but the bed was a decent size, you may struggle if you have a suitcase though. The facilities were very good from the public bath, relaxing room and free amenities.

Not strictly the hotel's fault but there was a lot of construction happening nearby which made being in the room in the day a little unpleasant. Not sure how fully booked it was but maybe locating people away from that side of the hotel where possible with so much close loud noise.

I liked the free parking. The entrance to the hotel was nice and well-kept. The staff was kind and although they didn't speak English, they were able to communicate using translation software. The room was relatively small, but still relatively comfortable. The view of Mount Fuji from the room window was very nice. We traveled by car, so all the tourist attractions were about fifteen minutes away from the hotel.

We could not order breakfast. We could not order private time for the Onsen.
