The views, architecture and the art are so wonderful and beautiful and luxurious. The staff are so friendly and always eager to help. The room was soooooo spacious and clean and comfortable and I honestly felt spoilt there. I got to read a little about Galleria Midobaru from a little book from the Hot spring bar and you can truly see the details from materials to textures, there is so much to appreciate! Thank you so much for the wonderful stay! Please come and enjoy the sun rise/set when it’s not cloudy. Missing Beppu already, I will definitely be back :’) <3

While the location is absolutely beautiful, it can be a little inconvenient and a hike for travellers with no car. (Not impossible though! I was able to visit the 7 Jigokus, Beppu ropeway and even made a day trip to Yufuin still) There aren’t much around and the nearest convenient store is a bit of a walk too. I definitely recommend booking a taxi if you’re lugging a luggage around!

The hot tub and the welcome drink. I like the interior design as well.

No usb charger beside beds. The layout of the room is not convenient such as toilet is on the opposite side of the shower. Then you brush the teeth in the middle of the room.

I did not want to leave. I opted for the half board so breakfast and dinner was covered. The range of food avaliable was huge and delicious. And you get many choices. The private onsen in your room was a highlight and the sulfur onsen did wonders. I feel like my skin will be soft for the next 3 weeks. The room was spacious, and the views were incredible. Very clean. The artwork was beautiful as well and you can do a gallery tour at 4:30pm (in Japanese only). Is a little far from Beppu station but worth it. This is the place to stay as a retreat and just soak up the views.

The building itself is the reason why I booked this hotel, and I wasn't disappointed. It's architecturally stunning in many ways, and so picturesque. Also the view of the whole Bappu city plus the shore line is amazing.

the room is nice but feeling a tiny bit run-down here and there. The real hot spring water in room is super super hot, which is nice that it's authentic, but a bit dangerous to handle because of its boiling temperature. Plus the smell of sulfites from the spring water fills the entire room. To me I'm ok with it but if you're super sensitive or loathe the smell of it, then you might find it a bit unbearable.

Hotel is like a work of art, you can get lost in it. The experience from check in to check out was amazing staff is speaking English which is a huge plus if you have any questions. Room was huge with big balcony which had an amazing view of Beppu. I did book private onsen which was amazing experience. They did think of all the small details.

Hotel is a bit far away, the last bus leaves the station at around 6pm and you will have to walk 20 min to get there, though taxi is like 7 euros from the station. So my advice would be taking taxi to get to the place and to come back to the station, the staff is super nice and they call the taxi for you so there won't be an issue.

Before you even enter the hotel, the staff is already standing outside waiting for your arrival. Hence you can tell the service was top notch. Everywhere in the hotel was picturesque as well. There’s a private onsen in each room so you don’t have to worry if you have tattoos like me. It’s located at a rather secluded area of Beppu. Hence a good place to relax and enjoy the view from your balcony

Because it is located at a secluded area, the best mode of transport is by car. Otherwise it can be difficult to get there by public transport. This might be my own opinion, but the lights have motion sensor. Light will switch off automatically if they couldn’t sense any people walking or moving around, which can be pretty annoying especially in the night when it can get very dark

1. The friendly and helpful staff that make us feel very welcomed. 2. The hotel is tastefully decorated and the room is huge with a stunning view. 3. Breakfast is delicious and the simple shabu shabu and sukiyaki dinner sets at their sister hotel are excellent too.

1. The bathroom... the lights are too dim, there is no hooks for hanging towels and clothes for change. 2. The wash basin placed in the living area... water wet the shared pantry and no privacy when washing up.

Probably the best hotel of our stay in Kyushu, where the staff were friendly, helpful, and engaged customers like old friends. Extremely impressed with the knowledge and level of engagement we got from all the staff.

There is honestly not much to dislike about the property. It’s pretty amazing.

Hotel was nicely renovated and decorated. Rooms were a great size with a balcony, and also had a private hot spring onsen in the room which is good for families with children. Bed was extremely comfortable and view was fantastic.

The hotel walkways are open concept which was unusual but not something to be concerned about unless there is heavy rain. It is also not near to the city centre - you would need a car to access the place, but that's what makes the stay attractive as well. Only 1 coin operated washing machine was available, would be good if there were more machines.

We stayed four nights at the Midobaru. We were greeted by Maria, who spoke excellent English and was extremely professional as was the rest of the staff. Room was spacious, modern, with a balcony overlooking the slope and the Beppu area, and had a private onsen bath. The view from the room is truly breathtaking. The hotel is nicely decorated and has a free-flow sense between the floors and the rooms. There is available free parking with limited places. A minor glitch with the duvet cover was immediately taken care of and replaced. The breakfast was extremely rich, with various cooked options and the staff very professional and attentive. On a more personal note I would like to thank the gentleman at the breakfast area who so graciously wrote a welcome message on his Smartphone and translated it into Greek. It was so very moving. A small suggestion for the breakfast: a plate of seasonal fruits would be nice for those wishing to have a lighter breakfast
