We were greeted by a lovely friendly member of staff on arrival. We immediately knew we would be happy at this hotel. Our room was spacious and comfortable with a wonderful sea view. A very pleasant surprise. The restaurant and bar areas are relaxed and enjoyable to use. The breakfasts were plentiful, with a good variety of choices. The fresh fruit was delicious. The restaurant and bar staff were very welcoming, helpful and friendly. The evening meals were superb and we ate there 3 nights. A first class hotel. Thank you.

COMFORTABLE, PEACEFUL PRICELESS ROOM WITH A VIEW

Rooms were a good size and reasonably priced. Breakfast was really good and again good price. The staff were lovely.

They charge £25 per dog to stay, we had two dogs so our stay incurred an additional cost of £50, which is quite excessive. I did not see this advertised when booking.

Modern hotel with spacious and very clean rooms and bathrooms which had been modernised not too long ago. Well located, about 10 minutes walk from Folkestone Central and 15 minutes from the harbour. Very friendly staff, keen to help wherever they could. Very tasty breakfast with lot of choice.

Two minor observations: the pillows were of inferior quality (odd because everything else is so nice) and the bar area can't make up its mind whether it wants to be an extension of the breakfast room or the bar. With some dimmed lighting and a few comfortable seating, it would be more attractive.

The room was fantastic. A huge comfortable double bed and additional chairs. The partition room was great for our son who has special needs. This provided him with the security that we were not too far away whilst allowing him his privacy. The shower was a double which worked well with good water pressure. We had the bonus of a roll top bath which although we didn't utilise, it was a great option to have. This bathroom had underfloor heating which worked well and was great This was also fitting to the period property, giving a sense of nostalgia and romanticism. The view was absolutely beautiful, a forward facing panoramic sea view from the huge windows providing plenty of light and encapsulating the warmth of the morning sunrise and the setting sun. Parking was available, but as we were out of peak times we found this no problem. During peak holiday season, I can imagine that availability of parking might be an issue. Breakfast was plentiful with a buffet style ranging from cereals, fruit, continental and full fry-up options. Worth the money for all you can eat. The location was fantastic with no interruption to the views and minimal vehicle interference. A beautiful coastal vista with huge skies to look upon. We will book again with the preference for room 108.

We were pleased with everything. This is the second time we have stayed at this hotel and would highly recommend it to everyone.

The staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly- nothing too much trouble and they were very welcoming of our dog. The breakfast was very good - the scrambled eggs exceptional. The view from the View was wonderful and access to walks along the Leas, beach and undercliff a stone’s throw away. The hotel is quirky but that is part of the charm. The food in the restaurant was also good and very welcome after a day’s drive from Utrecht via the Shuttle. We would stay there again!

The self- opening window in our room was a little unnerving until we realised what the squeaking noise it made was.

Had a fantastic stay at The View in Folkestone. The hotel was easily accessible, parking was simple and fairly priced at £5. The Standard family room was perfect, plenty of room for a family of 4. Lovely views overlooking a large green and the sea. We stayed for dinner and the food quality was brilliant there was also a good selection. The breakfast the following morning was a buffet which I often have reservations over but I can honestly say the food was hot, great selection and great quality. All in all a totally faultless stay in a wonderful hotel. We will definitely be back!!

We didn't eat at the hotel, but the location was brilliant. We were there to visit Leas Theatre to see the Dualers and it was so easily accessible. Hotel was very accommodating when I said we had 2 disabled people and kept in contact throughout to ask if they needed anything, put them in rooms close to the lift and offered extra services like anti-slip bath mats.

Parking permits that you can get from reception but it wasn't displayed anywhere that that was the case... Maybe include that in your message upon booking. Also quite a long wait to check in, maybe add another member of staff behind the desk whilst check in commences.

The room was lovely, it had clearly been refurbished recently, had the lovely character of the building, but with modern conveniences. Bathroom was immaculately clean and up to date. The location was perfect, there was plenty of parking in local streets, just needed to ensure we registered our car with the hotel reception, as soon as we arrived, as that then connects with the traffic warden. Breakfast was great, lots and lots of choice and really nice food.

There wasn't anything we didn't like. We were in room 201 and it would be good to put a little light under the television, where kettle etc is, so that you can see when you are making a drink in the evening, but that is so minor.

Upon arrival, we were made to feel very welcome, which set us up for the weekend. Although we hadn't booked the restaurant, we ordered food in the bar area which was very tasty and flavoursome and the atmosphere within was warm and lovely. Our room was located on the 4th floor, so the view was great and the bed was so comfortable. The same staff who greeted us at breakfast during our stay was so warm, friendly, and helpful. The location is perfect, and I would definitely recommend a stay.

Unfortunately, as it was a slightly windy night, the air vent in the bathroom rattled which would or could wake you and we had a resident seagull on the ledge which when she finished her morning cry would settle and be quiet. In the scheme of a lovely weekend, these were minor things.
