This was a lovely hotel, in a quiet location but not far from Folkestone Central Station and 15 minute walk from seafront and harbour! Not far to shops if you need them and a lovely pub we went in, good food and beer!! The room was a good size as was the bathroom! Bed was comfortable too!! You can have breakfast too which we did and it was great!!

The only thing we didn't like was the room was a bit dark but that's because there was a big pine tree outside which was in the garden!

Do not be put off with the outward appearance - it needs a little TLC, but overall the greeting was good, the room was a room for a stop over for the Chunnel was perfectly adequate. BUT we had dinner and the food was exceptional. Breakfast was also very good cooked to order. We would stop there again.

This is not something we did not like as we had time, but a warning do not expect a quick buffet service breakfast as breakfast is cooked to order.

Lovely and affordable hotel in Folkestone. Approximately 10 minute walk from the sea and promenade which was very convenient. Reception staff was informative, friendly and welcoming. Good option to stay the night before our trip back to Europe.

Unfortunately, the toilet was malfunctioning. Initially the reservoir was not refilling at all, and after giving it a little fix, it started refill very slowly. Reservoir refill mechanism is due replacement.

I had dinner at the hotel, which was excellent. One of the best meals I have had in a hotel, or restaurant come to that. Even the vegetables were served in an unusual but really delicious way. Bed was very comfortable and afforded a good night's sleep. Only met one member of staff, who was very polite and helpful

Shower was a bit low in pressure but probably due to the historical age of the building.

We really enjoyed our stay and staff was very friendly and always willing to help. We highly recommend it. We booked a small double bedroom for Easter, and arrived early to the hotel. We were able to leave our luggage stored until we checked in, free of charge. The room was located on first floor. Even though it was small, it was very comfortable. It included a TV and a fridge with complimentary still and sparkling water. The bathroom was nice (and big!). The hotel also has a restaurant where breakfast is served. Breakfast was good value for money, with a nice variety of options. We also had burgers one night, which were delicious. We will definitely be returning to Wards Hotel on our nexr visit to Folkeston.

The family were delightful, nothing was too much trouble, even offering a lemon drink etc., when I had a cold. My room was small for a two week stay, Raj offered to relocate me, but after travelling for a long while, I slept so well in the bed, I declined!! The room and I got on well. Meals were delicious. And Dylan makes a mean Espresso martini, a must have.

Shower was a bit cramped due to plumbing fixtures and awkward glass shelf in the way. My knee replacement made showering awkward., obviously not the hotels fault. Tiny sink to use successfully without splashing everywhere. A smaller tap would be good.

Comfortable bed (one particular bed was very comfortable and luxurious (overall the times I've stayed here I've had the most comfortable night's sleep for quite a while) clean and tidy, tea and coffee making available in the room (essential especially coffee In my case). (Teddy bear in the bed my own).

It was perfectly situated with easy access to Folkestone amenities and the channel tunnel. The staff were extremely friendly and dinner in the restaurant was excellent.

The lighting in the room was gloomy and the automatic light in the bathroom only came on when it was dark so we had to manage with a strip light above the mirror.

Peaceful location a few minutes' drive from Eurotunnel terminal with off-road parking and free WiFi. Great dinner and breakfast and a friendly welcome.

Outside lighting needs to be improved. Be aware it's an older building with steps outside and inside (and no lift).

We arrived before 12pm. (Check In 2pm - the room is not clean yet). The Wedding at Old Kent Barn start by 1pm. The friendly receptiontist offered us to other room to dress and left our case there to put for other room. We were back very late and find clean room and our case, waiting for us. Nice English Breakfast but fried eggs are over cook. No worries. Only 10 mins walk to front seaside and town.
