Excellent location, right on The Leas and only a short walk from town centre. The facilities were excellent - the recent refurbishments have been completed to a very high standard.- not just the bedrooms but all communal lounges, dining room etc. Our bedroom was brilliant - thought put in to every detail from comfort of bed/ linen,to the drinks station to the en-suite. The room and all that I saw clearly have new carpets as well as wall coverings. The breakfast was of a very high standard too - every dietary need catered for and brilliant selection, all served by polite staff. I cannot recommend it highly enough!

Great location and the hotel presented well. The lobby was tastefully decorated. The staff were particularly engaging and professional. We didn’t ask for much. But when we did - They were happy to help. A bar meal and wine we ordered were good value. Sadly, we didn’t get chance to use the Marco Pierre White Restaurant. Our room was on the third floor and certainly a comfortable base, for our two-night stay. Although we didn’t need them, our room had an iron/ ironing board, hairdryer and a safe. It had a decent TV and even a sea view. Parking is paid for by a permit, which expires at Noon the following day. So, be mindful of this and you pay at reception. Be sure to find a space before you pay. Happy to recommend VOCO ‘The Clifton’.

Very little; we had left a tag on our door to request a clean and tidy and in the hope that our tea and coffee would be replenished. The cleaning staff didn’t get to our room. Although reception staff happily gave us more consumables. Our shower cubicle appeared to leak. Not really something we needed to worry about. Though the resulting puddle on the floor could present a slip hazard. It was contained by using a couple of towels. I honestly believe this hotel will respond to feedback and address any issues.

We asked for a room near the lift, because we are getting on and don’t want to lug cases to far. Our room could not have been any closer to the lift! The room was lovely - clean, colour coordinated, with lots of plug points. We did not have breakfast, as we don’t eat much, so it would have been too expensive.

The lifts - or at least, one of them, has seen better days, but it was the other one that broke down! The nice full length mirror, with a plug beside it, was good, but a shelf beside it would have made it easier to put a brush while drying hair, and to put make up etc on. Minor points, but would have eased the problem. Did not deter from the lovely room! The parking spaces are scarce- may have to drive around a bit!

I really liked the location and the staff and my overall package also a very efficient lift. I was very impressed with a very young waiter who was very empathetic and attentive had real customer service flair. I had a plumbing issue that was resolved very quickly. Also reception very helpful with parking issues and allowing me to swop my booked room so I didn't have to check out.

Well I chose the wrong meal and because of that I didn't like it. I loved the restaurant and breakfast, hot plates great breakfast choices. but choice of eve meal a bit cheffy. Although I liked my cool soup which was very tasty. In hindsight I should have ordered the steak. The chicken meal had a vinagarette it just made the meal sour. Good sized portions.

Our room had been recently refurbished and had a clean, modern feel. We had a sea view which was great. Bathroom was a good size and had a bath and shower over.

Wi-fi was poor and very slow. TV kept freezing and distorting. Climate control in the room was inadequate (not individual air conditioning but a hotel-wide system that blew air). We pointed this out to the staff but they were not able to fix these issues. Water pressure in the shower was insufficient. Cooked breakfast buffet was not very fresh nor hot. Coffee, served in a french press, was mediocre. Lift was tiny - max 2 people with luggage or 4 without.

Loved how close it was to both the beach and the town. Everything was within walking distance, only used the car once for our whole stay. Breakfast was amazing, so much choice and everything was fresh. Staff were very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much bother. The room was air conditioned which was great as it was very hot for the duration of our stay.

The lift was quite rickety and sometimes didn’t work. There was a second lift on the other side of the building which was better but also busy as it only held two people or one and luggage.

Location is ideal for beach, Euro tunnel, visiting attractions. The room was excellent comfy bed. Breakfast is always good, and Mage the head waiter is always on the ball. Phillipa on reception is an asset to the hotel a font of knowledge too.

booked in and paid for the room which I have never done before, asked the guy to link my card to the bar as I had guests coming. He didn't link it and m guest got the drinks to put on my room and told they needed to be paid for? Frustrating as I had to go back to reception to set it up. Not a big deal but should have been done when I requested it.

The hotel is an old hotel with lots of character. The dining hall was lovely with lovely garden views to have your breakfast. Staff were polite and attentive. The room was very well presented with everything you need. We were on the top floor and you could see the sea from the window. The room was quiet. Although there isn’t a car park, you cam park opposite if a space but there is a car park literally two minutes walk which costs less than £5.00 for 12 hours

The lift ! Don’t expect to get more than 2 people in it and only 1 with luggage but it added to the charm of the hotel

I recently had a wonderful stay at the Best Western Clifton Hotel and was thoroughly impressed. The staff at the Clifton Hotel were outstanding, consistently friendly, attentive, and ready to go above and beyond to ensure a pleasant stay. One of the highlights was the delightful dining experience. The restaurant offered a fantastic selection of dishes, all prepared with great care and quality. Breakfast was particularly notable, offering a wide range of delicious options to start the day. Overall, the Best Western Clifton Hotel exceeded my expectations in every way. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a charming and comfortable stay with excellent service and amenities.

All the staff were friendly and helpful. We arrived late due to delays at the Customs in Calais so the restaurant had closed. The bar manager organised a bar meal outwith normal hours. The bedroom must have been recently refurbished and was clean and tidy, the shower room was good. Nice location on the beachfront but beware of the traffic wardens who check regularly so pay for parking. Great breakfast

Generally the decor throughout the hotel was good but the carpets on the stair clashed horribly with the wallpaper. Hopefully this is work in progress, please fit a neutral carpet?
