Close proximity to the small but very beautiful and clean city of Canterbury, 15 to 20 minute walk away. Lovely room, very clean and spacious with a walk in room for clothing. Tea and coffee, water and a kettle. Continental breakfast was served in the morning, cereal, berries, Greek yoghurt, croissants, pastries, fresh fruit and toast. Tea and coffee and juice too. Plenty to eat and constantly replenished by the friendly members of staff. Free WiFi available. Small Sainsbury's over the road, also Kent Cricket Club. All the staff we met were lovely and friendly and always asked if we needed our room servicing or replenished with tea, coffee etc. There is an area downstairs where there is a communal fridge with chairs and a table for eating your own food.
We were pleased there was parking but sadly only 4 spaces. I believe there are 6 rooms. When we arrived, there were non available and we trawled the roads around and about, looking for a space. These showed we needed a parking pass, although as we found out later, no one monitors these roads. We didn't want to risk it, so after much effort and stress levels rising, we parked on a park and ride for 2 nights, about 20 minutes walk away. Breakfast great but the fresh bananas never looked very inviting. Maybe they were kept in the fridge? Lovely room but noisy from the traffic on the main road. We had warm weather but couldn't leave the windows open at night. There were fans in the room though. Would we stay here again? Big yes.

This was by far the best place we've stayed so far in the UK. Although the room was small it was immaculately clean, with all the things required for comfort. This room was in the back corner of the building so wonderfully quiet and peaceful at night. An excellent fan was provided to ensure a cool night's sleep. I liked the 15-20 minute walk into the centre. It was an equal distance from the central bus station and Canterbury East rail station. A laundrette was relatively close as was a Sainsbury Express. There's a shared fridge downstairs which would be handy. The breakfast was really good with real greek yogurt, fresh berries, croissants, pain au chocolat, cereals, good quality coffee and tea as well as toast. I noticed they also provided vegan, dairy free and gluten-free options. The staff were so welcoming and accommodating. They went out of their way to make our stay a comfortable one. I would highly recommend as excellent value for money for a Canterbury stay.
Honestly everything was excellent!

This was a single-night stopover in Canterbury, and a very pleasant room in which to spend it. If the room was a bit too warm because of the sweltering weather, the management had thoughtfully provided a very efficient cooling fan, and we both slept well as a result. A lovely, confortable bed, tastefully decorated room, and a very good bathroom. Ideal. Only one window would open, but that proved not to be a problem. And the continental breakfast was very good.
Be warned - if like us, you have no/limited mobile internet, you may have trouble getting in. We set off from home before the management sent us the key box details (despite our asking that they be sent in advance) and as a result, we could not get in. Thankfully, a passer-by kindly let us use his mobile, but this is not something I'd like to have to count on. Hence the reduced note for service.

The Bat and Ball is perfectly located on Old Dover Road, which means we could walk for 10 minutes and arrive at the city walls of Canterbury, down under the subway, and we were there. Canterbury is a must-visit town, yes, it has a cathedral, which makes it a "city", but it feels like a town. We walked for hours exploring the old and modern shops, buildings and cobbled lanes. The cathedral costs £18.00 to enter and is stunning, then a pint in the Shakespeare, perhaps to soak up the atmosphere. Breakfast is amazing with a huge bowl of fresh strawberries and yoghurt, tea, coffee and pain au chocolat, yummy!
The Bat and Ball is literally on Old Dover Road, so if you are a light sleeper, the traffic could prove to be a problem. The room supplies a fan to try to keep you cool as the window needs to be closed because of the traffic noise.

V Comfortable bed, large room with TV and fan. Quality towels and good shower. Excellent continental breakfast. Staff on hand to address queries (one of the coffee machines appeared not to be working) AND one key fob did not open front door!
B&B had added security straps to windows so room felt airless on hot days - no through draught. I accept the stairs are quite old but they were very tiring to climb. After entering property reception area very gloomy and uninviting.

Excellent, spacious family room. So clean and all amenities we could need. Really impressed. Good communication leading up to our stay. Family room was bigger than I thought and great bathroom. Really great room and nice breakfast
It was very very hot during our stay and would have been nice if the bathroom window could open to allow some ventilation rather than just the extractor fan. Fans were supplied which was good but would have been great if more than one window opened up. Really enjoyed our stay though

The Bat and Ball B&B was clean, well presented and tastefully decorated. Our room was warm and a good size, bed was comfy. Room and bathroom were spotlessly clean. Easy-peasy check-in and communication from the hotel was excellent. Continental breakfast was plentiful and of a very good standard including fresh pastries, and berries. Staff member at breakfast was friendly and attentive and made sure breakfast items were topped up. Location is a good 20 minute walk from the main high street so we got a taxi to take us into town in the evening (£10). This didn't put us off as the accommodation was so good (and you'd pay more for town centre anyway!). We'd definitely stay here again.

It was a really nice room with a four poster bed and a very thick comfortable mattress (tbh one of the best we've slept on). There was an oscillating fan which was quiet and with a strong breeze that was really great on one of the hottest days of the year. Large bathroom shower. Friendly staff lady at breakfast.
Only 4 car park spaces on a first come first serve basis for the 6 rooms. Continental breakfast didn't have any savoury options like meat or cheese.

The bed albeit so high you almost needed a ladder to get in to it, was really comfortable and a great size. The shower was great and the toiletries lovely.
The walk in wardrobe/closset smelled musty. It was also an inconvenience that we couldn't park our car and had to find on street parking. The annoying part was that if the parking spaces were arranged differently I'm sure they could fit at least one, if not two more cars in.

Efficient check in process, helpful staff, rooms newly finished and immaculately clean. Set up on top floor was perfect for our family of 5 - two rooms on their own landing and one slept up to 4 people. Beds comfortable and the property was quiet even though there were guests downstairs. Continental breakfast was fine but finished at 9am which was a bit early on a weekend and considering checkout is 10. That would be my only suggestion to improve. We would definitely book again.
Breakfast finished too early
