I like the central location of YHA Canterbury, which makes it convenient to explore the city. The property is well-maintained, with clean and comfortable rooms. The staff are friendly and welcoming, always ready to assist. The communal spaces have a cozy atmosphere, perfect for meeting fellow travelers or relaxing after a day out. I also appreciate the affordable rates and the availability of kitchen facilities for self-catering, which is great for budget-conscious visitors. Breakfast was perfectly awesome 👌

My mum is in Canterbury hospital so I needed a place to stay and be close to her. The location was perfect. All the staff were excellent and extremely supportive to meet my needs. This place is a home from home full of information especially if you want to explore the area they have everything you need. I love to cook and found a well equipped kitchen to lose myself cooking and distress after a full day's visit at the hospital. I totally recommend YHA. Thankyou ☺️

I liked everything.

The room was perfect for our family. Enough beds for all 5 of us. The front window let's in a ton of noise all night and with it closed the room gets quite stuffy. Maybe a fan would be a nice option to have at the check in desk for those who need a bit more quiet to sleep and like the window closed for less noise. The kitchen was very convenient and we used it a lot! Also the backyard space was lovely for kids to run around and enjoy the sun.

The wifi didn't work great

Given that I had booked a room with ensuite bathroom, but when we arrived they gave us a room without bathroom and I complained... they gave us the last room with ensuite bathroom that was available, which was a little wood house in the garden (without paying any supplement). I really appreciated that, and the little wood house in the garden was very nice and comfortable! There were also tables in the garden where we could eat, and a kitchen inside the hostel where we could cook.

The parking of the hostel is too small, there is place for only 6-7 cars... So we had to park in a street nearby.

The building is nice, the bed was comfortable. There was a sink in dormitory room which was useful, and lots of toilets and showers scattered around the building.

The television in the common room.didnt seem to work, there were channels missing and signal was poor. I think there was a football match I'd liked to have seen and late evening news at 10pm after coming back from seaside before bed. But other than that, there's not much to dislike.

When I told the staff I walk with a walker, they changed our room to a ground floor one with more space for the walker. All the facilities were clean, staff were friendly and helpful, atmosphere was relaxed & friendly.

The dining room is down some stairs, so I had to use my walking stick instead of the walker to access it. Definitely not wheelchair/walker accessible. There are 5 cabins in the garden, why weren't these made accessible?

This is a necessary suggestion not a complaint. I was in the very top room in the house. Number 15. I never asked if there was a lift but if there was not a lift these stairs were long and deep stairs to walk up especially when pulling/carrying suitcases/other big bags. The occupier of top room should be told re stairs and steps up to bedroom & provided with the option before being given keys to the bedroom.

A necessary Suggestion not complaint. Top room. Number 15. Steps up to the room. In middle of night these steps would be dangerous. Please Take Note A Health Risk & Safety Issue. If room occupiers are drunk or not awake properly in middle of night to go to shared toilet they could fall down the steps. Needs a Ramp. Bedroom Door opens right onto the steps.

We booked a room with 4 beds, got upgraded to a 6-bed one. Neat & clean, same as other YHAs I have visited. It's calm too, no noise from other occupants. Breakfast was good. Plenty of shared washrooms, other than the one in our room, makes it easy to get ready while starting early.

This place is almost at a 30-mins walk from the Canterbury station, and if one wants to reach by bus, they need to avail 2 buses. Town centre is not too far away though. The reception remains closed from 10:00 to 16:00, makes it difficult if one wants to leave their luggage and roam around the place, they can't get the luggage back during that time.

Very good value for the price! We stayed at the outdoor cabin and it exceeded expectations. Place was clean and has everything you need for a short, simple stay. We arrived 4 hours early from check-in and asked if we can leave our luggage, the reception was very kind to accommodate us and checked us in :). There are also board games you can borrow should you want to play with friends. Place is a 10-15min walk from city centre, but there is a bus stop in front of the hostel which is very convenient. Definitely recommend this place budget, short stays and weekend breaks!

Wifi wasn't very good outside the cabin. Toiletries are not provided, they sell it at £5 per pouch, so make sure you bring yours if you dont want to spend extra

The building itself was a marvel. The location and parking excellent. The staff accommodaing and did their very best to ensure all visitors stayed at maximum comfort and listed the amenities of the stay very helpfully. The staff were of good humour and very friendly too. Can't say really. Perhaps no fried eggs at breakfast when the advert did have. However the quality of the breakfast was very good anyway with scramble egg.
