Lovely historical building. Generous sized bedroom with beautiful view of grounds. Modern bathroom. Heating was good in the bedroom and bed very comfortable. Lovely dining room .Parking was good beside the main entrance to reception. Breakfast was very good with plenty of choice and served very quickly. Pleasant staff at reception and in the dining room. Didn't have chance to experience the gym or other leisure facilities.

Duvet on bed was very heavy and very warm ! Portions at dinner were on the large size - too much for us . Would prefer an option for smaller portions.

Wonderful building! Fabulous room & very friendly staff. So good that we cancelled another hotel to come back again!

Would be good to have tissues, body lotion and better quality coffee in the room.

Beautiful building in very pretty location, fascinating history.

We have stayed here twice before and had a very good stay each time. This time not so great. We had booked a deluxe double on Booking.com but we were charged £85 more than the hotel website, so not using booking.com for this hotel again. The windows in our room, Charles III, had been sealed shut, so the room was stuffy, hot and airless. The toilet seat in the bathroom was the wrong size, and the toilet is connected to a very noisy pump system that goes off randomly in the middle of the night. The hotel was fully booked so couldn’t change rooms, but would recommend that people avoid this room until the windows can be opened and toilet seat replaced

True historical country home close to Canterbury and LeShuttle. The house is a gem, and many rooms are located in this building. The rooms are updated, renovated, good beds, beautiful views, lovely bathrooms. The main hall is spectacular, the grounds must be lovely in the summer. There plenty of pubs in the surroundings. Perfect relaxation after a day of visiting.

The hotel is under staffed, and they were not very nice. Service was limited. The breakfast was very average, most of it was luke warm, quite disappointing. I would go back for the rooms but leave out the rest. There are quite of few stairs to climb so avoid large bags, as they do not have a butler to help. Price/quality for the room only is not bad

We stayed in a lodge as we have a dog. The lodge is very comfortable. We went to the main hotel on the grounds a few times, for meals and to enjoy the pool (quite small but lovely) and the snooker room (my boys loved it!). The main hotel in the old building is fabulous. The staff were also very friendly and approachable. The location is really good to visit Kent, as it is so close to Canterbury, Dover but also the beautiful Kent beaches!

For me- admittedly a coffee lover, a small thing which would make a big difference is having a decent coffee maker or espresso machine as there was only instant coffee and a kettle. Also the TVs don’t offer Netflix or Disney + and the wifi wasn’t working from our lodge, but the network signal was strong.

The lodge itself was HUGE and in a beautiful wooded location with birds singing merrily away. Most towns and villages were easily reached from here. It was exceptionally comfortable and great value for money...we would definitely stay again without question.

Just a few minor issues:- There was no washing machine or dryer as stated. Bathroom tiles could do with regrouting. Patio doors didn't open( This was resolved the same day). Bedroom blind was broken (again, resolved the same day) Tv remote was missing in a bedroom. Bedside table was missing. The female receptionists were very terse and didn't tell us about any of the available facilities nor asked if we had enjoyed ourselves when we handed the keys back. The 2 lads at reception were very helpful when we pointed out some of the above. The lodge was VERY clean but could do with a bit of maintenance as it was looking slightly tired in places. ALL THE POINTS ABOVE DIDN'T DETRACT FROM OUR STAY BUT STOPPED US MARKING IT 10/10

A magnificent Elizabethan mansion, set in beautiful gardens and huge parklands with a wonderfully laid out golf course sweeping around the undulating grounds. Wooden panelling, paintings, comfortable sofas, a pretty restaurant with a huge chandelier give it a great atmosphere. It is the staff that make this a gem of a find. The warmest of welcomes from the staff who know a thing or two about outstanding customer service. A can do attitude with a smile from everyone where nothing is too much trouble from the restaurant and bar to the reception team to the golf team. Callum at reception looked after us superbly, a big thank you to him.

Room was really good. Food was quite good. Location was excellent. However overall impression was that the whole place would really benefit from a considerable injection of cash. For example the golf course looked really good from a distance but on closer inspection was very scruffy in places and would clealry benefit from additional maintenance. The garden area next to the hotel could be fabulous with some attention but it currently looks dowdy and down at heel.

We didn't like the fact that we were allocated a room with a shower that didn't work. This was inexcusable really. However, to be fair we were given another room straight away which was more than acceptable.

Lovely room, we stayed in a Junior suite. Lobby was nice and festive. Staff was very helpful and friendly. We travelled with a dog and decided to eat in a room. Al 'carte menu was delivered to our room, which is a bonus as this is not usually available for a room service.

Breakfast was very tasty, but a cold buffet very limited. My partner usually don't eat hot breakfast. There was not enough logs for the fires, it would have been lovely to have to reception room roasted and even more festive. It is a beautiful room to chill and have a drink with sofas.

Stayed in a lodge with 2 dogs for 5 days, kept extending our stay as we enjoyed ourselves so much! The staff were excellent, so friendly and helpful and loved the dogs. Beautiful setting, well equipped lodge, very comfortable bed. We didn’t eat in the hotel so can’t comment about the food We would definitely stay here again.

The whole resort has been so well planned and must have been one of the best when it was built but it now needs investment, including in the leisure facilities . Some things in the lodge needed renewing. The sofas, dishwasher and oven were top of the range when new but that was probably 10 years ago.
