The bed was very comfortable. I liked the fact that the rooms were not actually above the pub. The food served in the pub was delicious and portions were generous. Staff were very helpful and friendly. The pub is by a bus stop on a direct route to Canterbury so we got a bus in as parking is expensive. It is well placed to explore the area.

The room was a little small because of the sloping ceiling but perfectly adequate. The bathroom would have benefited from a shelf but again, it was perfectly adequate. I found the room got hot in the night although we stayed in late September but the air con took care of that. The chairs in our room were a little uncomfortable.

Lovely place, just 10 10-minute drive from the city centre. All staff are very friendly. The room was clean and tidy, with some tea/coffee and biscuits available. There's plenty of space in the room for our dog (a Siberian husky) and a lovely area outside as well. A delicious breakfast, freshly made especially for us, vegans. With a pub and restaurant as part of the accommodation, it is very handy in case you arrive hungry or thirsty. We definitely would stay there again (I hope soon!) :)

The hotel is a bit tired, but some parts of the room have been recently renovated. The pillows are a bit hard, but it was totally fine. For those staying in the ground-floor rooms, facing the car park, some noise should be expected. There is a bus stop right in front of the hotel, and the buses to the city run only every 30 minutes, so you need to keep an eye on the clock to avoid missing the last one.

Staff very attentive, smiley and friendly. Good selection of lagers/beers, food was plentiful pub grub. Room was in the building to the rear away from the main road. Room decor dated as per other reviews, however bathroom was exceptionally clean with everything you needed. I liked the addition of oat milk on the tea tray. Easy free parking and around £10 for a taxi to the city. We would return as the staff were so friendly and welcoming. They are a credit to you.

Unfortunately our first choice of evening meal was unavailable alongside two of the breakfast menu items which was a shame. Soundproofing would be helpful in the room as you can hear quite a lot from the hallway and other rooms. We did get woken by noisy guests returning to their room unfortunately.

Very cosy, friendly pub. Good food and breakfast. Very comfortable with dogs. Staff were exceptional and attentive. We loved the corner bath which filled up so quickly due to fabulous water pressure. Rooms are cleaned every day if you wish. Maybe a little updating required at some point but we loved it. The location was brilliant. I walked through woodland to Fordwich but don’t head for the golf course due to lack of pavements on the main road. Go back on footpaths.

Nothing really.

The bedrooms are across the car park. Any noise from the pub could not be heard. Breakfast was very good with a choice of the usual items. The scrambled egg was excellent. Dinner in the evening was of good quality. The food was always hot served by friendly staff. The beer was excellent.

To be picky, There were occasions where an item on the menu was not available which is irritating when you have spent some time deciding what to have. Some pre order information would have helped. Service seemed slow at times but when you're not in a hurry it doesn't really matter.

We stayed here 4 years ago and it was as exceptional. Staff were welcoming and our stay and meals were excellent. Sunday roast was worth the wait. We were visiting our friend in that area and decided to check this place out again. We were not disappointed. Service and facilities remains excellent. Staff members polite, courteous, helpful and bubbly. Sunday roast was once again worth the wait. We will be back in the future . Thank you Debbie and all at Evenhill for making our stay wonderful and offering such high standards.

As of the above in my summary comments.

Lovely place to stay in a good area not far from the coast and Canterbury. Rooms were clean with plenty of toiletries and food was very good. Hot Breakfasts made to order with plenty choices. We also had a meal which was really good with large portions and value for money

On the final morning bank holiday Monday there were a lot of people at breakfast at the same time and noticed they struggled to cope taking a longer time for our breakfasts to arrive and the buffet part running out of bowls cups juices etc

The breakfast was delicious, lots of options to choose from. The room was very clean. Some other reviewers have noted that the bed is hard, but we both found it very comfortable. We had one evening meal in the pub which was also really nice. The staff were very friendly and attentive- couldn’t have had better customer service! Nothing was too much trouble and they clearly were working very hard when dealing with a busy breakfast service. Very close to Canterbury, 10 min drive away. There is a bus stop right outside but due to bank holiday service we didn’t use it. The Evenhill staff were also helpful with providing parking/transport recommendations as well as recommendations for things to do in Canterbury. We would definitely stay here again if we were visiting the area- really good value for money with the friendliest staff that make you feel so welcome.

The decor in the rooms is a little bit dated and a little bit of noise can travel between rooms at times- overall these things didn’t affect our stay at all, but it may be something other guests may want to consider.

We had very good breakfasts while staying. It's in a nice quiet village. The lodgings are separate from the Pub, so very quiet. I would stay again if needed. The Staff were all very friendly and helpful.

One small issue was no vent fan in the bathroom. The fire doors were noisy when closing so we tried to gently close them so as not to disturb the other guests.

The room was spacious, the bathroom was big with a big bath tub. Breakfast was great, super tasty and very filling. The pub in the evening was great, lovely atmosphere and dog friendly. Lots of car parking. Quiet area so if you are a light sleeper, you should be able to sleep through the night without being disturbed.

The room got hot even without the heating on, so the room was a bit stuffy so we were sweating. There is an air con in the room but I did not think it was needed for the current weather. The decor is a bit outdated so did not match the decor of the outside building.
