I ate both dinner and breakfast. Full English breakfast was excellent and above my expectation. Dinner was as first class. The chef’s interpretation of some parts of the meal was as not quite traditional but extremely good. I loved he pigs in blankets. The potato with pears with the slow cooked pork was different and the calvados jus not to my liking. Loved my room which I will book my daughter and her husband into for a break. It’s facilities for a disabled person was excellent. Wet room shower and roomy. Nailbourne room
The sauce with the pork but the chef was being adventurous, for me it didn’t work.

A variety of items for breakfast, but only two kinds of cereals available. Everything cooked to order, so, if in a hurry, it could take too long for some. All very nice anyway. Staff all very friendly. Dinner very tasty, although both of us only had a starter and a sweet on one night of the four we stayed there. Great countryside location between Folkestone and Dover. Near A2 and M20 too.
Very hot weather, and the air conditioning unit in our bedroom broke down twice.

Very friendly staff, excellent position. Very comfy bed. Good breakfast. The attention and friendliness of the staff made up for any disappointments.
We were in the room with disabled facilities. The bonus was that we had a door direct to the outside. The down side was that the bathroom area and presence of 2 additional sinks in the bedroom made it feel somehow rather stark and the low bathroom sink tricky to use. Therefore the room was not the cosy, country hotel feel that we were anticipating for the price that we paid.

We stayed in the Sir Thomas Berridge room. Top floor at the back of the hotel away from the road. Lovely and quiet room, large and bright. The shower was a little tricky as it was over a large freestanding, deep, roll top bath, with the controls a bit away. Other than that it was great. Huge comfy bed and good air conditioning if you need it. Staff were fabulous and the food was superb. Breakfast was so delicious in the morning. Definitely would recommend this place if you want to feel treated.

We stayed here for just one night to break our journey home after travelling from France. We were delighted with how lovely everything was, our room had absolutely everything you could wish for including a bath and separate shower, seating, coffee and tea making facilities and a wonderfully comfortable bed. We enjoyed an excellent dinner with wine followed by a lovely breakfast the next morning. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed a stroll around the lanes nearby and a very interesting visit to the local church and graveyard. I would highly recommend staying here.
Nothing, everything was excellent

The location and all the food was superb. The car park was also a big plus as many locations have little access by car.
Our room was very comfortable and extremely clean. Its just that its recent makeover left me puzzled. They installed a double sink facility with wood table in the middle of a very nice bed room which was very out of place. The adjoining bathroom had a writing desk and chair, a high sided tub with a shower (that was difficult to step into, and a toilet. I would have placed the desk and chair in the bedroom and changed the bathroom to a walk in shower and toilet. Just a different vision!

We chose the Marquis because of its proximity to our son’s wedding venue. The staff were extremely helpful and accommodating. The restaurant for evening dinner offered a good range and everyone said how delicious the food was. My son (the groom) also had his dog with him and the staff were more than pleased to welcome her, in fact her photo is likely to appear on their website. On the morning of the wedding the ladies had to leave before breakfast and so we were given very nice packed breakfast- a bonus indeed. Guests for the wedding took over all 10 rooms over 3 nights, we would thoroughly recommend the Marquis.
Only one little niggle the toilet in our suite had no light switch, it located in the adjoining bathroom so tricky to locate in the dark as the switch was behind a curtain.

Nice rooms - ours was compact and a little quirky - our double bathroom sink/vanity unit was in bedroom and doubled up as the tea/coffee station, but it worked - ish! Comfy bed, although ours was a little high - I may have needed a step if it was any higher! I'm average height. Great breakfast Good location, nice walks nearby if you have time
Lots of cushions - usual problem with where to put them when not on the bed. Bathroom walls could have done with freshening up. The schnitzel was extremely greasy - even taking into consideration the butter sauce description - perhaps just a bad day in kitchen. Restaurant food was a little on the pricey side We chose not to check in online - I prefer interaction with a person. That said, we stood for quite a while waiting to be greeted (just a holding "hello, I'll be with you in a minute" would have done) - the gent was stood right in front of us sorting out a booking/some sort of calculation.

This little inn is an absolute gem of sumptuous welcome, class, and comfort. The dinners and breakfasts were served in a charming, well-lighted room. The food was superb, imaginative, and all taken care of by thoroughly professional staff. A true gem. The Le Palmier room was so roomy and had the biggest bath I have ever seen. What a joy!
All perfect

I cannot fault the property in any way. The staff were all so helpful. The room was beautiful and so clean. The on site parking was plentiful and free. We were travelling the next day on the Eurotunnel and the location was perfect. We ate in the restaurant in the evening and the food was amazingly good. Breakfast the next morning was superb. We are going back to the Eurotunnel next week and cancelled the hotel booking we had so we could stay here again!
There is nothing to not like!
